Great, quick read. Though entirely predictable, it was a very enjoyable read. Would definitely recommend. 3/5

Stacey Lynn isn't new to me. I've read her BDSM themed novels in the past and have enjoyed them since they were nothing like the darker themed novels of the same genre, so they gave readers a good insight on the beauty of this lifestyle. Picking up Knocked Up, i wasn't sure what type of story we'd get, not quite sure i was entirely prepared for it.

This is the unexpected pregnancy of all unexpected pregnancy romances i've read so far. It's shown me what dealing with surprises mean and how people react differently to it. First meeting Brax, i have to say he was quite a jerk towards Cara - yeah, i totally get the fact that she made a comment, but seriously, who wouldn't say that they made a mistake sleeping with someone while being drunk? I know i'd say the same thing and wouldn't even feel one iota of guilt for it. There's just some things that you shouldn't (doesn't mean you wouldn't) do and that tops my list.

But he did manage to redeem himself every so often when Cara really needed him. To all you doubters out there on whether or not morning sickness can be that bad, trust me, it can be. I needed the meds, needed the specific diet to control it and even lost so much weight the doctor yelled at me!

While some parts were a bit frustrating, the whole of the book was quite interesting and captivating. I liked the way that these two came together for one goal and to make each other better because of said goal. This author did create quite the interesting story and i'm curious to find out what else she has in store for her readers in the future.

I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review!

Having never read anything else by Stacey Lynn, I honestly don't know why I haven't before if all of her books are like this one. Right from page one I was hooked, wishing I could hide under my desk at work after lunch to keep reading once I started!

After spending her life trying to please her parents and failing, Cara is finally living life her own way. After a one night stand at her best friend's wedding, she finds herself pregnant with the best man's baby. Braxton is a hot, inked, tattoo parlor-owning man who's spent his life proving his birthright wrong and clawing his way from the wrong side of the tracks. When Cara shows up to tell him she's pregnant with his baby, he doesn't even hesitate to man up.

In the past, I have found the "oops I'm pregnant" genre of romance to be full of cheese and eyeroll, especially those that happen after a wedding. This one, however, was cute with minimal cheese, which made it easy to devour. Both Cara and Braxton were hot messes when it came to navigating the one-night-stand pregnancy, which made it very honest.

My only complaint is a minor one, especially seeing as I read this as an ebook and therefore didn't really look at the cover before now...the people on the cover of the book don't match the characters at all. Braxton's covered in tattoos, and Cara's supposed to have dark hair and be pregnant. Granted there's nothing worse than a cover where the tattoos are obviously photoshopped on and not real...

This is a definite stand-alone. Having not read the 1st in the series but having read the plot summary for it, the characters from book 1 don't appear in book 2, so 100% a stand alone!

This was a cute story. I enjoyed the back & forth between Cara & Braxton. It was interesting following the pregnancy.

I loved this book! Fun and sexy read. I liked the characters and really wanted things to work out with them. Their pasts have definitely effected how they are now, but it was nice watching them come together!

4 Stars

Knocked Up was an easy, fast-paced read. With a mixture of humor and feel good characters. With a little bit of this and a little bit of that and a surprise pregnancy thrown in. And with a Hero that gave me all the feels. He wasn't your typical alpha, he stepped up to his responsibilities without question. He was caring and attentive and every bit swoon worthy. Braxton and Cara were the absolute cutest. All in all, Knocked Up was an enjoyable read.

3.5 stars — Welp, I went back and read my review for Fake Wife, and I have a feeling that Ms. Lynn may not be quite right for me. Which is a weird thing to say seeing as I’ll likely round this review up to 4 stars…but I just really feel uncomfortable with the level of anger and temper she shows in her heroes. *shrugs* I’ll get to it…

So as with the first book in this series, I was drawn in immediately, and totally loving this book. I love a good accidental pregnancy trope, and this one was shaping up to be very satisfying. And I know this is weird, but I do tend to be attracted to heroines with low self-esteem and self-worth. I guess they’re relatable. It’s not that Cara didn’t have inner strength…but I guess that’s what I love. That mix of damage and healing. I was a bit bummed that we didn’t get flashbacks to the actual one night stand, but we can’t have everything.

So yeah, I liked Cara. She frustrated me, sure, but that comes with the territory of a damaged heroine. I felt for her with the loss of Jimmy, and her horrible parents. I get that the bad rich parents are cliche, but I just don’t mind. Sometimes I’m in the mood for formula, you know? And I loved the little moments where we’d see her stand up to Braxton.

Braxton could have been a hero I truly loved. He had a lot of great qualities, and I loved the way he was so emotionally invested in a child. I also appreciated his own damage from his childhood, and the grief of a lost mentor. I even really appreciated the little story about dyslexia, and the stigma he felt, but how Cara didn’t flinch. Yay diversity! And he could be really sexy, he had a bit of an alpha thing going on, and I enjoyed the way he was protective of Cara and the baby.

But here’s the thing. Braxton, as with the hero in the first book, has a TEMPER. And when he gets angry, he can be mean. I get having fights. I get misunderstandings, and the climax could have even happened in the same way, but his venom truly made me uncomfortable. And it wasn’t the first time his anger made me uncomfortable. I’m just not attracted to that, especially since he was never really called out on it.

So while throughout MOST OF THE BOOK I really loved them both, and even loved them together (they had great chemistry, I thought their interactions were sweet, swoony, and STEAMY), those few moments kind of ruined it for me. Womp womp.

I will say I loved the secondary characters in this one, from Dan and Jenna to Luca to Graham to even the dog Lucy. They all added to the story.

As a side note, what’s with the cover model having NO VISIBLE TATTOOS WHATSOEVER?? I mean really, you couldn’t find a couple where the hero is at least partially tatted? Not impressed.

And that’s that. Another book that had SO MUCH AWESOME (really reminded me of a good Harlequin), but was tainted by the anger monster. It’s just not for me peeps.

This book is exactly what you would imagine, It is a light romance. . He had an addict for a mom and dad that wasn't stuck around. It was sweet and sassy and if 50 shades is a little much but you want the sass give this a try.

A one night stand after the wedding of their best friends Cara and Braxton leads to a positive pregnancy test 6 weeks later. Braxton had a rough time growing up with a drug addict mom, but he had neighbor Irvin watching out for it. When Irvin dies and leaves Braxton money and he is able to open a tattoo parlor.
Cara, grew up the daughter of wealthy and over bearing parents breaking away after her brother lost his cancer battle.
Can these two get along and co parent a baby?

Stacey Lynn has written a lovely Swoon-worthy stared read with Knocked Up. She has given us a great storyline with that flowed flawlessly and characters you love as soon as you meet them in Cara and Braxton.

I simply loved every word of this and enjoyed watching Cara and Braxton's relationship blossom as they attempt to get to know each other and navigate through an unplanned pregnancy. Braxton's reaction to Cara's bombshell was so sweet, there was no panic just acceptance and determination to make the girl that had been on his mind and was now in front of him again, his.

Only small criticism I have is that the cover and that as Braxton is covered in Tattoo's the guy on the cover has blank skin (he is hot though).

An adorable story of a one night stand that leads to a baby. Cara had to tell the hot tattoo artist Braxton that she is having his baby. Braxton is way more then meets the eye and he needs to convince Cara that putting her faith in him is a good thing. Characters had so much depth and I loved how they treated each other.

I was hooked right away and it did not release me. I enjoyed the heck of out this book. Two people that spent a night together a few months before, went their separate ways are now back in each others lives.

I loved seeing big tough Braxton brought to his knees by Cara. Following Cara as she got to know the real Braxton, underneath the tattoos was so sweet. Loved this book!

Braxton and Cara certainly don't have your typical one night stand. She's never had one before and the outcome is definitely not what they had planned. This was a fun read as Braxton and Cara learn to maneuver through the very real lesson that plans are often made by fools and real life is what you get when those plans fall apart. The tangled mess of their lives quickly becomes a love story that will have you cheering them on. Of course it will all work out in the end and they will have their HEA, right ?
Stacey Lynn writes characters you will love, and occasionally want to punch, because they are real people. They could easily be your neighbor, your co-worker, or your own family, and even though they aren't you'll wish they were.

Knocked Up by Stacey Lynn is the second book in the series. This is the first book I’ve read from this author and it can be read as stand-alone. After reading the blurb, I couldn’t wait to dive into this book. New to me authors always get me so excited and boy did Stacey Lynn surprise me!

Cara and Braxton meet, hook up, and then go their separate ways. Braxton is mad as hell he was left so he throws himself into women and work. So when Cara shows up and tells him she’s knocked up boy is he surprised! What they thought would just be one wild night but instead turns into a lifetime commitment.

I loved reading this story! It was light and fun and had just the perfect amount of heat. I laughed so hard at moments and there were times i wanted to smack some sense into them. I absolutely adored the characters and the loved the way that they overcame their fears. I highly recommend reading this book and I will definitely be reading more from this author!

So good...5 stars!

Knocked Up is another winner for Stacey Lynn. Cara and Braxton lock eyes at their best friends, Jenna and Dan’s wedding. One night of passion results in a bit of a bump. Well, baby bump and six weeks later Cara confronts Braxton about the unexpected news.

Braxton Henley is tattooed, muscled, and handsome who grew up poor. Though he may look dark and menacing, and absolutely delicious, he has a big generous heart. The owner of his own tattoo parlor, MadInk, Braxton knows all too well that women look to him for sexual excitement, and not the real man he is. He thought Cara might be the passionate woman he was looking for on the one night they shared, but a miscommunication separates them.

Cara Thompson never expected to see Braxton again. But she does the right thing sharing the news. Now that she’s left her rich, judgemental parents, Cara promised her twin to finally live for herself. I love how Cara and Braxton come together and work through the hurdles.

I loved every word which made this story such an enjoyable read. It has a wonderful blend of conflict, great characters, steam, and romance. All in all, Knocked Up is a heartwarming romance with a sigh-worthy ending. I received an advance reader copy from Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept via NetGalley and voluntarily reviewed this book.
