I voluntarily reviewed an ARC from Netgalley.

This was a nice light read. I've never read this author before and did enjoy it. I expect I'll read more from her, however, I hope her "future" characters will actually communicate with each other so that there are no confusions. This is one of my pet peeves, I guess you could say. So many conflicts could be avoided if there was communication amongst themselves.......Or maybe that was supposed to be the reason for the conflict. I don't know, but it's irritating.

Knocked Up was a surprisingly nice summer read. The characters were quirky and not only well developed but also had fun personalities. Braxton is a great mix of soft Alpha that any woman would easily fall for and Cara is easy to respect and root for. Anyone who loves a surprise pregnancy trope will love this book but if you enjoy a nice sweet love story you'll enjoy this as well.

This was a good read that I enjoyed from the start and the first book in this series that I have read. The story was a fun read that had well written with characters that had chemistry. Their story moved along well and I would recommend it to others.

Knocked up captured the true meaning of falling in love with a knight in shining armor.

Brayden was such a caring, loving hero who was ready for a family from day 1. Even though he had some insecurities, he never doubted his love for Cara and his baby.

"I will treasure every single part you give me, Cara, you have my word."

Cara was a determined, but somewhat insecure, heroine, She was a product of unloving parents and wanted to do everything on her own. She would even underestimate her own worth.

Cara's uncertainties in life caused her to take her relationship with Brayden slow. She wanted it to be real and not something created out of obligation. She definitely didn't make it easy on Brayden, especially when it came to all of her crazy cravings.

"It's frustrating as hell. I figured falling in love with a woman would would feel more like parasailing, happening softly and brilliantly, like you know everything in the world is right. It feels like plummeting to my death, skydiving without a parachute. It has to be the dumbest fucking thing I've ever done, yet there's no way I can stop it."

Overall, Knocked Up was a story about overcoming all obstacles in life regardless of your upbringing. All of the characters in the book have something that has altered their life, whether positively or negatively, and they proved that family doesn't have to be blood related.

Such an amazing read by Stacey Lynn.

I’m noticing a trend in the books I read by Stacey Lynn. Her themes may not be groundbreaking, but her characters are so infinitely likeable and her writing so effortlessly readable that I don’t need a lot of flash and drama. Her stories are sweet and full of love and I can’t help but gobble them up.

Knocked Up starts with Cara already pregnant by Braxton, so we come in after the deed has been done. While I would have liked to have been a part of seeing them meet and experiencing their initial pull to one another, I think the author did a great job working it in and allowing us to see how their feelings during that initial encounter set the stage for what was to come: the attraction, the misunderstandings, the fireworks. Cara came across as so likeable and strong (although, girlfriend took so much time off from work I’m not sure how she made a living), and Braxton was the type of “can’t judge a book by its cover” guy that I love. The seemingly tough, tattooed bad boy that really had a heart of gold. These two opposites worked so well together and made for such an endearing story.

Knocked Up was one of those stories that is perfect to pick up by the pool or on a rainy day. It’s low angst, low drama, but high on the feels and the love!

After a one-night stand with the best man of her best friend’s wedding, Cara finds herself pregnant. Under a self-imposed exile from her horrendous parents, she is on her own until she tells Braxton he’s going to be a dad. The pair decide to work together to find a way to make their baby’s future a bright one.

Braxton came from a broken home and owes his success to the foster father who took him in and left him enough money to live comfortably, making his dreams come true. Although his life gets turned upside down when Cara shares the news of her pregnancy, Braxton is truly excited to become a father and plans to make Cara his forever.

Although the baby-genre isn’t my favorite, I picked up Knocked Up because I absolutely adored Ms. Lynn’s previous book, Fake Wife. While it wasn’t as quite as lovely as the first book in the Crazy Love series, Knocked Up has the same easy-to-read, low-conflict romance format, and I found myself engrossed in Braxton and Cara’s story. The romance works because both Cara and Braxton wanted more after their one night, but due to a simple misunderstanding (and basic awkwardness), neither pursued more. Now, tossed together, Braxton feels that Cara is the one for him and is extremely determined to make her feel the same. The pair has to work through a few bumps: her uber-crappy parents, building trust, etc., but it flows very smoothly. Overall, the romance is sweet, with a side of sexy.

The romance is quick-paced and fairly simple, and I enjoyed reading along (sometimes that’s just what I need). However, I knew a conflict would eventually arise, which it does, and unfortunately, it’s pretty predictable. I was a bit disappointed that the author took the easy road with respect to the conflict, and it felt a bit too generic. However, it fits with the simplicity of the storyline, and the pair find resolution quickly.

If you are looking for a quick, light romance, I recommend Knocked Up. Cara and Braxton are likable characters, and they make a good match. While the book isn’t heavy with emotion and conflict, it’s the perfect beach read.

My Rating: B, Liked It

Let me first say that the female character Cara is by far one of the best that I have read in a very long time. She is doing what she wants to do which is art and she is doing it away from her parents. Clear across the country. Living in Portland she goes to her friend’s wedding and meets a man that she is instantly attracted to. He is tall, muscles for days, and plenty of tattoos. She decides that if he is up for it she will have a one night stand. At 24, she has never had a one night stand. Braxton owns multiple tattoo parlors and not really wanting to go to his friend’s wedding he is now very glad he did, he has spotted a very beautiful women and she has eyes for him. As soon as, Cara is done with all of the maid of honor stuff the two of them spend the reminder of the reception together until she takes him up to her room. After a wonderful night it is Braxton who wakes up to an empty bed and it is Cara running away scared of her feelings, but happy and feeling good at the same time. A month later goes by and her friend stops by to check on her because she is not feeling so good, when she suggests could she be pregnant? After multiple test from different manufactures have all been positive, they are going with her being pregnant. Now the fun part, the father. Cara marches herself the next day to Braxton’s tattoo parlor to give him the good news. For Braxton it is good news because he never thought he would be a father, or even make it 28. He is dealing with so many emotions from why she left the room, to she is really here, too she looks sick and then I want to help you. This is where the book takes off for me and you find the back story of these two people and really how it is right that they are together. The author will take you on a journey of have and have not, and friends sticking up for their friend only to make things worse for the two of them. All of this and a dog Lucy if they can make it through together. A wonderful story.

Cute read, a story a weekend hookup that leads to pregnancy. Along with a lot of misunderstands and mistakes.

Cara met Braxton at her best friend's wedding and after a hot few days a misunderstanding leads both of them estranged. That is until Cara realizes she's pregnant 6 weeks later. When she goes to tell him, he acts like he doesn't know her.

Braxton thought that Cara, who comes from money, was ashamed of him; she snuck out before he woke up in their last day together. Little did he know, she's never had a fling before and she wasn't sure how to act.

Now that they have a baby on the way, they have to be able to work together. But outside sources on both sides don't want to see them happy together.

5 star

I was pulled right into this story. The story has pain, secrets, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Fake Wife (Crazy Love, #1)

This is Cara and Braxton’s story. Braxton has worked hard to get where he is today. When he goes to his best friend’s wedding he is looking to blow off a little steam. He meets Cara and they hit it off. They have some fun times. When she ends up knocked up after those sexy times she tracks down Braxton. He’s all in but she is not sure what he is getting out of this. The more time they spend together the more she falls but does he want her or just the baby?

I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

One night changes everything for Cara and Braxton. Can they build a relationship or will miscommunications get in their way?

**This one was a miss for me.

Cara’s life is definitely not going as expected. Having her first one night stand she finds out she is pregnant weeks later. Letting Braxton know he was going to be a father was not as easy as she thought. There is definitely some leftover issues that need to be resolved when she sees him again. Taking the words of her brother to heart she is ready to live her life and not be held down by the expectations of her society driven parents. Great story on how life takes a curve and you find the one who completes y0u.

I really quite liked this romance but didn't expect to enjoy it quite so much. Although the premise isn't unique (one night stand leading to pregnancy), I think that the way this was written is what I appreciated about it. I adored Braxton - he was the stand out of this novel. It's impossible not like this character - he's a stand-up guy but with an edge, a complexity. The guy from the wrong side of the tracks falls in love with a wealthy woman with a heart trope is well done here. I really enjoyed this entertaining story! This is the second in a series (although it read just fine as a stand-alone) but I plan to go back and read the first in the series since I liked this one so much.

Loved this book. It goes to show you that nothing in life goes exactly as planned, but that doesn't mean that life can't work out.

Cara wasn't ready to be a mother, but that didn't matter when the test turned out positive. When she told Braxton, he didn't hesitate to step up and be the man she wanted him to be. Not only that, he's the man she needs him to be.

I can't wait for the next book in this series.

A cute and heartwarming accidental pregnancy, opposites attract romance. Cara was raised completely at odds to the way Braxton was and yet, as they get to know each other, they find that they share values and some of the same scars.

Braxton and Cara had a HOT one night stand, but little did they know what to expect coming in their future. I absolutely loved Braxton. He was hard but soft. Sweet when needed and had a heart of gold. Loved it!

Knocked Up is full of humor and heart. As you can guess from the title, someone gets pregnant. From page one you know she's pregnant and then you learn it's from a one night stand, but what I loved was that this guy was a complete stranger. Their best friends just got married and sometimes the best man and maid of honor just fall in bed together, ya know? The road was a little rocky, but not too angsty. Both stepped up to their responsibilities without making it all seem like a burden. I really enjoyed reading about how they took what the were given in life (past and present) and made it into something beautiful.

This was a fun quick read with witty banter. I couldn’t put it down once I started reading. I am really enjoying this series by Stacey Lynn.

Cara is not one for one night stands and has never had one before. On the night of her best friends wedding she sleeps with the grooms best friends. The next morning while he is still asleep she sneaks out. She thinks she is never going to see him again, but she after finding out she’s pregnant that all changes. She knows she needs to tell Braxton but she has to come to terms with her situation first.

Braxton is a tattoo artist. He didn’t have the easiest child hood growing up and is determined to not let his child. He is such a swoon worthy book character you can’t help but to love.

This was a fun and sweet read and a perfect summer read.

Knocked Up is book 2 in the Crazy Love Series of Standalone books. I didn’t read Fake Wife book 1 in this series but, would love to at some point if I can fit it in on my crazy life right now.

This book is Cara Thompson and Braxton Henley’s story. They met at a friend’s wedding and of course had a one night stand. Never to meet again or so they thought. Neither thought that she would get pregnant from that night.

Knocked up is told from each of their Points of View which was intriguing. When she tells him she is pregnant he accepts it and embraces it after the initial shock. Of course he has to convince her to get married.

This was an enjoyable story and I love reading Stacey Lynn’s books!

This book was so enjoyable to read!  The book starts with the heroine already knocked up, as the title says.  Then we get to enjoy how the couple get to really know each other and develop a relation.

Cara met Braxton at her best friend Jenna’s wedding.  Braxton is Jenna’s husband’s best friend.  So this is the classic case of the best man and the maid of honor getting it on.  They spent a great weekend together, had stellar sex, and then Cara fled before Braxton woke up.  Six weeks later, Cara is doing pregnancy test kits and finding out she’s pregnant.

One month after this she has gathered up bravado to face Braxton and tell him the news.  The surprise was that he not only accepted the pregnancy but he also wanted to be involved in every aspect of it, and he also wanted to help Cara with any issues she may have.

The rest of the book deals with Cara and Braxton getting to know each other in another sense than the biblical they already had.  Cara is revealed as the insecure woman who was constantly rejected by her parents, ignored until she dropped out of law school, moved away from home and took a job in an art gallery.  She tried following her parent’s expectations but she knew she would never get their love and approval.  Now she’s getting to know and like herself and she’s enjoying life.  The thing Braxton likes best about her is her laugh, so free and happy. Braxton looks like a scowling big thug, but underneath all that tatted exterior is a kind and generous man.

Braxton comes from the slums of the city, he had a mentor who helped for him into the man he was, helped get him away from the slum and the gangs and sent him to college to study art.  When his mentor died, Braxton inherited a lot of money from this guy and he was able to set up tattoo parlors around the city.  He is living a successful life, but he still has reservations about not coming from the same rich and privileged background that Cara did.

It’s very surprising that this book has a very narrow scope and yet it was so entertaining and enjoyable to read.  I credit the author’s talent in writing a heartwarming story that flows so bright.  We live Braxton and Cara’s life as the pregnancy progresses and they go through the process of knowing each other, liking each other and develop feelings for each other.  Every once in a while their insecurities in themselves and each other arise, Cara’s parents intervene to add a dark note to the story, Braxton assistant and business partner is a constant reminder that they come from a different background and instills more doubts into Braxton’s mind.  There was not one instant where this story lagged and got slow.  It had great pace and great dialogues, and a lot of heart.
