'No way in {heck} am I backing down. It’s full speed ahead, picking up exactly where we left off the morning she snuck out on me.'

After fulfilling their maid-of-honor/best man duties, Cara Thompson and Braxton Henley spent the rest of the night after their best friends’ wedding having an incredible one-night stand. Braxton couldn’t get Cara off his mind but he never expected to see her march through the doors of his tattoo shop telling him she’s pregnant with his kid. He’s shocked at the news but it’s Cara who ends up even more shocked when Braxton immediately tells her he’s all in. They may not know much about each other but Braxton is convinced that their connection is the real deal and he makes it known he doesn’t just want to be there for their kid but he wants to be there for Cara too. Now he just has to convince Cara that he’s right.

'I don’t just want this baby, I want a family. She’s going to be the one to give it to me while I work my {butt} off to give her everything she needs.'

I really enjoyed this book! Accidental pregnancy stories can be hit or miss, especially when they’re the result of a one-night stand but this one really worked for me! Braxton may have been the tatted up bad boy with a troubled past, but he proved himself to be an amazingly sweet and caring man. His reaction to the news and everything he did and wanted to do for Cara and his baby were so great and will definitely make you swoon. I enjoyed seeing him and Cara figure things out together since they kind of put the cart before the horse. They were basically strangers who were suddenly connected forever so we got to see them go through the whole getting-to-know-you/are-we-compatible phase. As you can imagine, there’s a fair amount of angst that goes along with it. When you combine that with some hang-ups that they each have about their pasts, well you’re going to have some drama! It wasn’t anything too crazy but it certainly was enough to keep things interesting. I did enjoy how everything wrapped up and I loved the epilogue! Cara and Braxton may have come together through unexpected circumstances but they ended up finding so much more together and I was glad to go along for the ride!

'He’s a miraculously sweet man in the body of a gladiator and continues to throw me off course.'

This book was something of a hidden gem. I read the blurb before I dived in and expected a silly little romcom; however, what I got was so much more than that. Off-page, before the start of this little gem; Cara and Braxton meet at a wedding reception and one thing leads to another and they ended up back at his hotel room. What comes after their night together is a real eye-opener for Cara and Braxton.

Cara was raised in a household of lofty expectations and parents who expected her to remake the wheel and follow in their footsteps of being holier than thou and act like she is owed rather than owing. If not for her brother Jimmy, Cara wouldn’t have ever come out of her shell and begun to live her life away from her “Stepford” parents.

‘Live, Cara. Live for both of us. Be true to you.’

Braxton is as similar but also equally different to Cara as two people can be. The similarities, though subtle, are there for everyone to see if you just look at it all in a different light. The way the author portrayed the inherent differences between upper and lower class was done in a very non-stereotypical way. There was no rubbing it in when it came down to it. Nobody had to show others what they did or didn’t have, the haters just weren’t worth the time or inclination.

From beginning to end this book shouted one thing over and over again, trust. Some people wanted it sooner than they had a right to it, and others just didn’t treasure trust the way they should.

‘I close my eyes, feel the rhythm of my heart beating against my chest, and I realise I’m wrong.
I’m not falling for Braxton Henley.
I’ve already landed.’

Now, the interesting part of this book, the romance between Cara and Braxton.
If you have read the blurb you know the basic premise of this book, but what you won’t know until you read Knocked Up is what this book truly is about. Both main characters are incredibly damaged and have so many hang-ups you could use them as hangers in a wardrobe! There is nothing simple or basic about this pairing and it is done effortlessly whilst dealing with some intense emotions and events.

‘This is not pregnant hormones, kicking into high gear, creating a throb at the apex of my thighs.
This is simple, boy meets girl, girl wants to taste hot boy, physical chemistry.’

Knocked Up is book two of a series, but each book is a standalone read and does not have to be read in line with the others. Events and situations in this book were not always in the control of Braxton and Cara, that being said, it is a true testament to their characters and the author who penned their personalities that they stayed true to form and never diverted.

“You might still be pissed when I tell you it was the night before you came into MadInk, but if I’m going to be completely honest, for the last two months, every time I was with a woman, I was honestly just trying to fuck the memory of you out of my head.” <----- Are you kidding me? Could you be more cliched Braxton? and to think that I actually liked you. Did you even wait for a week before you found another woman?

^I wrote that part when I was still reading the book and I still agree to it. I mean, come on! It had only been 2 months since he had been with Cara and he slept with a bunch of other women. Am I supposed to be ok with that? He didn't even try to make contact with Cara before he stuck it into some other woman. And one of them also happens to work in the same circle as Cara. Why do authors think that's ok? Where is the romance? Did we really need a scene where we learn that Braxton didn't even try to stay celibate for 2 months? I was loving him until that point. After that, I can only feel sorry for Cara for getting stuck with him for the rest of her life. And to be honest, if she had broken things off with him and moved on with another man, I would have been happier and that almost never happens. I am very disappointed with this book and the author. She has given us so many good books and now we get this? Braxton is easily one of the worst heroes because he seemed so nice and caring for most of the book and then he goes and says this. Just say that you wanted to get laid dude. You didn't even ask your friend for Cara's number, yet you went wherever you went and found a dozen random women in order to forget her. That makes so much sense. That's not romance. This is the second most cliche line someone could say to justify their need to sleep with other people. The first is that they had a broken heart and the one night stands help them get over it. And the worse thing is that Cara just accepted that and even had sex with him after mentioning again a few minutes before the act that he had slept with other women. How does that help the romance? It doesn't in my book and that's why I am giving 1 star to a book that was going to get 5 before that paragraph came into my life.

I loved this story. I do love a good tattoo artist romance. Cara had slept with Braxton after her best friends wedding. She got pregnant but when she went to tell him, he was nasty to her due to a misunderstanding. He thought she was embarrassed about sleeping with him (not that there was much sleeping going on). She wasn't and it took awhile to get that cleared up. Cara was raised by wealthy parents that didn't approve of her and they really didn't approve of Braxton. This story flowed smoothly and I'll look for more of this author's books. I got this book from NetGalley for an honest review

Wasn't super crazy about this book. Couldn't get into the writing or the story. It just didn't work for me.

I loved Cara and Braxton! This is a book that you just smile your way as you are reading! What started out as a one night stand turns into something so much more. Not what they planned, but perfect none the less. I definitely recommend picking up this book when you need an amazing read!

This story was cute, fun and so so sweet. I enjoyed every minute of it!

I just couldn't get enough of Braxton, definitely on my book boyfriend list. A bad boy who works hard, super sweet, caring and sexy af, what more could a girl want?! Cara chose well lol. Cara is a strong independent woman and I just adored her.

With an addictive storyline, amazing characters and some very hot chemistry, it makes for an easy pleasurable read.

If you enjoy accidental pregnancy stories than I recommend grabbing yourself a copy.

Straight talking, sexy and oh so fun! They might have started out as just a fling, but watching Braxton and Cara tiptoe their way though getting to know each other and deciding if they can make a relationship work is really fun. They're both strong-minded people, but both want that person who will make them their everything. Enjoyed it!

Wouldn't you know it! She finally decides to throw caution to the wind and enjoy her first one-night stand after her best friend's wedding ... and she winds up pregnant! Cara Thompson certainly wasn't planning on being a mom at this time in her life. She recently walked away from her parents stringent expectations, dropped out of college and is now pursuing her artistic dreams. She has to admit though, she's excited about this baby.

Tattoo shop owner Braxton Henley isn't shy about the fact that he enjoys women. When he sets out to have a wicked night with the gorgeous bridesmaid at his best friend's wedding, he certainly doesn't expect her to show up at his shop a few weeks later to tell him he's going to be a daddy. He can tell that he doesn't fit into her hoity toity world, but he's not going to walk away from the one thing he's always wanted ... a family!

~4.5 STARS~

Knocked Up is the perfect combination of sexy and sweet. It’s the love story of two people who do everything backwards...baby then dating!!!

Cara is the last woman you would expect to have a one-night stand, but she does at her best friend’s wedding with a man who is so completely different from her. She thinks she will never see him again, even though she would LOVE to. However, she gets more than she ever bargained for...a baby on the way!

“...life wouldn’t be life if it didn’t throw you a curveball every once in a while.”

Life has just thrown both Braxton and Cara a major curveball! I really like both characters. Stacey Lynn did such a great job of making both of them so relatable and loveable. She did that by giving her readers a look into both of their pasts and how that helped make them the people they were in the present.

Cara grew up with wealthy parents, but she was always seen as a “distraction and annoyance.” Her parents really were clueless and completely unfeeling. However, she had an amazing relationship with her brother, and that is what helped her step out of living her life for her parents and finally taking a chance to live a life that made her happy. Braxton was a big source of support for her.

Braxton grew up very differently than Cara...not a lot of money. However, he had a man in his life who was always there and helped shape him into the great man he is. Braxton really is a great man. Of course, he is gorgeous, but it’s who he is on the inside that drew me to him. Instead of running from his responsibility, he ran towards it. Not only does he want his baby, but he wants Cara too. He is willing to pull out all the stops to get her.

There is a bit of misunderstandings and miscommunication between them that cause some angst, but it doesn’t overwhelm the underlying storyline. I so enjoyed watching these virtual strangers get to know each other and learning how to be parents together, all while falling in love with one another!

Cara and Braxton hook up at a wedding for their best friends. The two have a wild night of fun, so much so that Cara has to search for Braxton several weeks later when she discovers she's pregnant. This is a great read and has two very strong characters. I loved their relationship with one another.

Picture this: It is the morning after your best friends wedding, and you roll over and notice that you are NOT alone in bed. Nope definitely not alone, because laying beside you is the very sexy tatted-up sex god, Braxton Henley - AKA The Best Man. Oops!
Cara Thompson wakes up panicked after their night of wild sex and quickly decides to ditch her bed buddy. This is her first one night stand and because of that, she is inexperienced in how to handle the morning-after-sex talk. Like does she stay? Does she go? Does he go? Do you thank him? Play possum? Or go another round? All legit questions btw.
Now fast forward a few weeks later to Cara learning some pretty life-altering news - she is knocked up. Uh oh! Things are about to get messy.
The story opens up with Cara seeking out Braxton to tell him that she is pregnant. She tracks him down to the tattoo parlour he owns to share her news. Braxton is less than impressed and is pretty indifferent to seeing her. Actually, he was just being a jerk. In the beginning, I wanted to smack Braxton for being a jerk to Cara. Don't worry Cara showed him by "redecorating" his office and he did redeem himself during the story and was pretty swoon-worthy at times.
I enjoyed this quick easy read, and I do recommend it to anyone looking for a fun easy read. Braxton and Cara were quite entertaining and had a cute story to tell. I'm a huge sucker for babies/pregnancies in a book so this read was right up my alley. The storyline flowed nice and kept you invested throughout the book. The characters were interesting and interacted well. Overall it was a great read.

Sexy. Sweet. Such a feel good romance. Knocked Up completely knocked me off my feet...

Stacey Lynn has always been good and someone I come back for but wow this book is my favorite by her. Knocked Up was a sexy, sweet, fun, emotional romance with one accidental pregnancy that is going go give them more than just a baby... it's gonna give them love.

After their best friends get married, they have an unforgettable one night stand. One that six weeks later results in a bundle to be. She's strong, independent, and resilient to her upbringing. He's smart, intense and honest from his past. He wants everything and she's taking baby steps.

But Braxton is all in and he'll do anything to prove it to Cara... but not without a few bumps, complications, and misunderstandings. But together they after undeniable and so damn irresistible. Every moment they gave was beautiful.

This book... so brilliant. One guy that will make you swoon, even with his imperfections and one girl that's gonna make you high five (a time or ten)!

I highly recommend this book.

A very hot story! Fully enjoyed it and the opposites attract dynamic. Loved that Braxton was fully in and engaged in Cara and their relationship. Great read and entertaining from start to finish.

I loved Fake Wife so as soon as Knocked Up became available on NetGalley, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and I'm really happy that I did. This was a sweet, sexy modern contemporary romance that started off rather unique in that the usual buildup between the two main characters had already happened, but yet it wasn't a second-chance romance either. I really enjoyed the journey the author takes us on in this book -- funny, sexy, sweet and emotional. I love dual POV's which you get in this read, and I absolutely fell in love with Braxton the moment he speaks! If you love sweet and sexy, you'll love Knocked Up!

First comes love. Then comes marriage. Then comes baby in a baby carriage. Just not necessarily in that order. . . .

Braxton: I should probably be dead or in jail right now. Instead, thanks to some tough love, I worked my ass off and now I own a string of tattoo parlors throughout the Pacific Northwest. And yet the one thing I’ve always wanted—a family—still seems out of reach. When my best friend gets married, I’m just hoping to blow off some steam with the super-hot maid of honor. But after Cara Thompson tracks me down to tell me she’s pregnant, she’s more surprised than I am when I tell her I’m all in.

Cara: For the first time in my life, I’m living for myself—not for my parents and their ridiculous expectations. I gave up on my MBA, dropped out of the Ivy League, and moved to Portland to pursue my dream of becoming an artist. And what’s the first thing I do? Get knocked up. For a tatted-up sex god, Braxton Henley seems way too eager to “be there for me.” Is this guy serious? Maybe. He sure is patient. Because he won’t back down until I admit what I know in my heart: that our one night stand might’ve led me to the one.

Review:

This is just what I thought I would be getting when I read this story, a well-written and rounded story. I was thoroughly entertained while reading about Cara and Braxton. This is not the first book I have read by this Author and I love her style. I always love a good oops baby story. Though this is a trope that has been done to death, I liked that this one showed that not all pregnancies go swimmingly, some like Cara's are complicated and messy. I loved the progression of Braxton and Cara's relationship, both had their insecurities and how impressions can affect a lot of things.

I would highly recommend this story if you are looking to read a good oops baby or just a good plain old romance.

Cara was with her best friend Jenna when the at home pregnancy test came back positive like the several before it. And this had happened with a one night stand. Cara had gotten pregnant the night jenna got married. It was Braxton/Brax ‘s child- the man who had walked her down the aisle at Jenna’s and Dan’s wedding. Brax is Dan’s best friend from college. Cara had dreamed of her wedding since she was a child. It has been a month since Cara found out she is pregnant and she has decided to keep her baby but she still has to tell Brax he is going to be a father. Cara is trying to find her place in the art world, she works part time at Gallio’s Galleria while the rest of the time working on her own art. Braxton has a tattoo parlor- several actually- Mad Ink. Brax is a good stand up guy per Dan and he also fosters animals, Brax felt Cara was a princess and had went slumming with him and she said as much. Cara’s parents had wanted her to go to law school and then join her father’s firm and then marry a guy they approved of and eventually have a couple of kids as that was what was expected. But watching r her twin brother Jimmy died in her arms one year ago- he had leukemia- and he told her to live for both of the so she quit law school left home and had been disowned by her parents. Jimmy was the one who got all the attention and praise growing up and Jimmy had been mad how Cara had been treated.Brax took the news of becoming a dad well but he wanted a family- the baby, Cara, and him Cara told Braz all about her parents after their first date.
I loved this book, it was a great romance. I felt like I was there which is a tribute to the author-and rooted for Cara and Brax. I love how they interacted and as a couple and how Brax stood up to Cara’s parents. I loved Cara’s relationship with Jenna. I loved how Brax took the news of Cara being pregnant and what he wanted for them and being so involved. Happily I couldn’t find anything to criticize in this book. I loved the plot and the pace of this book. I read this in one setting as I didn’t want to put this down. I loved the characters except Cara’s parents of course and all the ins and outs and I highly recommend.

Braxton and Cara meet at the wedding of their two friends. They spend the night together and Cara ends up pregnant. The bulk of the book occurs after she tells him that she is pregnant. I could not put this book down. I stayed up later than usual and had to force myself to go to sleep. I enjoyed how the characters were written, I had certain expectations of how they'd be when I read the descriptions and I first met them in the book. However there was a lot more depth to them than what I was expecting. I also enjoyed reading from each character's point of view. This is the first book I've read by Stacey Lynn, but it won't be my last. I look forward to exploring her other works. I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. #KnockedUp #NetGalley

Another winner from Stacey Lynn! She is quickly becoming an automatic buy author for me because I've enjoyed everything I've read by her.

Braxton and Cara's story flowed so easily and had just a little bit of drama. Braxton was super swoony and I'd totally love to have him for myself ;)
