This book was absolutely amazing! I devoured this book in just over a day, and that includes a full day of work. This book was amazingly well written, it was suspenseful, and riveting. Once I picked it up, I did not want to put it down.

I love the set of characters in this series. They are all so funny, strong, and likable. The Blue Justice series focus’s on one member of this crazy family (mostly cops, with a doctor thrown in) in each book so far, but you still see the other members of the family as well.

Although the first book in this series is amazing, and I highly recommend reading it, this book could easily be read as a stand alone. Each book has its own story-line and it wraps it up at the end of the book.

Recommendation: I would recommend this book to anyone who loves Christian romantic suspense. Even if you haven’t read the first book in this series, you can read this one.

You catch the under tone feeling from the beginning, anticipation of what the author is bringing us, to another ride, of grief, and a chase. A pile up accident, reveals drugs, and human trafficking . We meet the Marshall, on assignment to protect a judge, with orders to kill, if he wants to see his daughter again. A cousin of the St John’s was one of the girls found. She makes a bad decisions and is recaptured. Chloe and Hank, feeling he is her best boy friend to have. Their lives and decisions are on the line, with the closeness of their families they do there job. Human trafficking is a nightmare for the victims as well as families. Even the judge who wants a stiffer penalty for them. A story one won’t forget, and looking forward to the next one, Given ARC by Net Galley and Revell for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

This is the second book in the "Blue Justice" series about a family of police officers. I had read the first book and enjoyed the characters and plot but in these series I wish there was a "recap" at the beginning - sort of like "When we last left the St. John family..." A family tree wouldn't hurt either - I had a hard time keeping cousins, spouses, and siblings straight.

This book centers on Chloe St. John who is a K-9 cop, US Marshall Blake MacCallum, and a ring of human traffickers. Missing girls connected to each character have been taken and they all work together to try to find them. I felt the subject matter was handled well and not too graphically. A good book for readers who enjoy a suspenseful romance.

A great book!

I loved all of the little clues that were hidden in plain sight throughout the story and how when they were revealed at the end, gives you a a palm slap to the forehead moment as you go "yeah, I remember that".

Horrible that such a thing as human trafficking is a reality in this day and age, but this story gives  the reader a  glimpse into that scary world. We watch as Chloe and Blake peel back layer by layer to reveal the vipers responsible for kidnapping his daughter and her niece.

I loved Chloe's interaction with Hank, her K9 partner, and with her brothers and sisters. Something about big families and how they all help each other out appeals to me.

This book can be read by itself and you get a full story, and you don't feel like there are details you are missing. But if you read the first in the series, Oath of Honor then this one you get a little more insight into the members of the family and the dynamics at play among them.

Another thrill ride!

Chloe St. John is ready to focus on working with her K-9, partner Hank after her boyfriend left her with a broken heart. When a case of human trafficking might have connections to Chloe's missing 16 year old cousin, she is determined to get a spot on the task force. Chloe is surprised to find her brother's best friend, US Marshal Blake MacCallum is also involved with the task force. Blake fears his own 17 year old daughter's disappearance is somehow connected to the human trafficking case. Blake receives threats to keep quiet about his daughter's disappearance, and to kill the judge he is supposed to be protecting. Can Chloe and Blake find the missing girls in time? Or, will Blake be forced to make the decision to take an innocent life or allow his own daughter to die?

I am loving the Blue Justice series. With almost the entire St. John family in law enforcement, they get to work together to fight for justice. I can't wait for the next book! Lynette Eason is always a MUST read!!

Lynette Eason is one of my all time favorite authors. I wish I could give this book more stars, but I can't. I absolutely LOVED the first book and the teaser for the next one looks awesome. But this book had a few of problems.

The story was a difficult subject matter. I think a decent job was done with it, kuddos. The suspense and action were really well done too. At one point I had to put my Kindle down because I got a little anxious, lol. And I learned in this book that apparently I have a crush on one of the characters from Elite Guardians that made a surprise appearance. I LOVED THAT!!

My issues with the book were timelines, practicality and editing. People were called by the wrong name, characters were to be going into one room but magically ending up in another. Blake is going through the trial of a lifetime and the family he's close to kind of ditched him in his hour of need. If I'm getting death threats for a family member, I don't think I'd be socializing and I would want all the support I could get. It took about a third of the book until you see any real interaction between Chloe and Blake. The chemistry wasn't there until towards the end of the book and it was marginal. There are parts that aren't believable or felt forced to work. Also, early on in the book, I knew who was behind it all.

Like I said, I liked the first one and I'm looking forward to the next. I was so excited to read this after the first one but I was disappointed overall.

A great second instalment in the Blue Justice series!
Any book by Lynette Eason is always entertaining and this one certainly didn't disappoint. Chloe and her police canine companion Hank help investigate a girl who has gone missing into the human trafficking ring. I found this book full of action and hard to put down. I actually read the last 50% in one sitting as I couldn't wait to see how things panned out. There were twists and turns, as well as a love story to follow. I actually enjoyed this book even more that the first Blue Justice book.

Thank you to the publishers for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I am more than happy to recommend this book.

This is the second book in the Blue Justice series that revolves around the St. John family. This book focuses on Chloe. This suspense-filled book will keep you up all night to determine how the story finishes! The reader will get an update on Izzy from Book 1 as well as other characters. The book examines human trafficking and Chloe must unravel clues to a ring of human traffickers in her area. Not only are they snatching girls, but they also took her cousin a few months prior. Together with the help of U.S. Marshall, Blake MacCallum, they search for Blake’s daughter. The search is intense and Ms. Eason pulls the reader in to where they want to find Rachel as well. After reading both books in this series, I cannot wait for the next book to come out. Ms. Eason’s books are always so good, but I really am thinking this series is my favorite so far. I highly recommend this book and the previous one in the series! You will not be disappointed!!!

Called To Protect gripped me from the very first page. This exhilarating novel is packed with suspense and action, combined with the camaraderie of friendship, family, and the bonds forged in the midst of terrifying chaos. Cases that threaten the investigators’ family increase the stakes as clues must be unravelled and leads followed, creating a fantastic story.

Lynette Easton’s first book in the Blue Justice series was outstanding and this second book, Called To Protect follows suit. It has everything you could want in a gripping suspense novel, as well as touches of romance. I particularly enjoyed the emphasis on family the Blue Justice books showcase. Each book follows a member of the St. John family, a large, loud and loving group of crime fighters - from FBI agents to detectives and police officers.

Called To Protect is Chloe’s story. When a traffic accident leads to the discovery of a human trafficking ring, Chloe is happy she and her K-9 partner Hank were on the scene, especially when the discovery leads back to Chloe’s missing niece. US Marshall Blake MacCallum is brought into the case when it is uncovered that his daughter Rachel was one of the captured girls, held to ransom as a threat to get Blake to kill a National Judge. Chloe, Blake and Chloe’s brother Linc, team up and race against the clock to track down Rachel’s captors.

Called To Protect was impossible to put down. Its story of young girls taken and sold for profit was horrifying, yet Chloe, Hank, Blake and Linc are the people (and dog) for the job. It’s a personal case for them all and they stop at nothing to bring those responsible to justice. Rachel is a strong and determined young girl and, thanks to sections written from her perspective, gives the reader a strong reason to become emotional invested in her rescue. Hank’s part in the story was particularly interesting, and there are plenty of twists and big action scenes to keep you hooked.

The plot of Called To Protect remains focused on the unfolding case, but there are a few moments reserved for Blake and Chloe to realise they share a connection. They have been distant friends over the years, thanks to the connection through Linc, but spending time together on the case enables them to realise they have feelings that extend beyond friendship. The sweet romantic tension never steals the focus, but adds a nice extra element to this exciting novel.

Called To Protect is an engaging and exciting suspense and, if the teaser is anything to go by, the next book is the series, Brady’s story, is sure to be just as well-written and compelling.

The publishers provided an advanced readers copy of this book for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.

Lynette Eason knows her game when it comes to writing suspense. Even though her novels are titled Romantic Suspense, they are heavier on the suspense than romance, which is how I like my romantic suspense. In her newest series Blue Justice, the second book Called to Protect is a fast pace hunt for teenage girls, and Eason has me flipping through the pages hunting for the resolution.
Eason knows her research or at least how to find information with actual police officers to make her story ring true. I have no problem believing what she states happens in the story to the actual officers. I really enjoy how she dives into the setting and the internal dialogue of the characters too. They ring true for what she creates the characters to be.
The plot is my favorite part of a novel. It is where all the action occurs or should occur. With Called to Protect, Eason touches on the horror of human trafficking for teenagers. She doesn't get graphic with her details and none of the girls are hurt sexually, but she does mention things about the human trafficking industry that made my stomach cringe. I can't imagine the horror. While reading this book, I prayed for my niece and all the little girls I work with at Awana at church. I pray God keeps an eye on them their whole life and this never happens to them. The story does move rapidly, and I had a suspicion who the bad guy was before Eason showed it. I was right.
It was nice to see familiar characters in the St. John family reappear in this addition. This time it was nice to be more familiar with Chloe. I got to understand Chloe's role in her family and her role in her job. Family dynamics are a difficult place to be, but Eason creates a family that is close-knit. Something I'm sure everyone strives for. Some more than others. Most families aren't that tight-knit. I enjoy seeing Chloe and watching her realize her feelings for Blake. I hope they appear again in the next book.
Overall, Called to Protect by Lynette Eason is a fast-pace peek into the world of human trafficking. With the return of familiar characters and a suspense racing my heart, I couldn't wait to see how the story ended. Fans of Eason's previous writings, DiAnn Mills, or Steven James might enjoy this book.
I received a complimentary copy of Called to Protect by Lynette Eason, but the opinions stated are all my own.
