Reviewing for NetGalley

I couldn’t help it adore Anna and Theo’s love story. Amanda Prowse is such an amazing and talented writer that she painted a picture of what Anna’s world was like. I can’t wait to read Theo’s story

Anna was a wonderful and enchanting romance read. It had me hooked from page one until the very end. It was relatively easy to read, and I adored the dynamic cast of characters that made this book so unique. I haven't read any work by Amanda Prowse before, but I certainly will be reading her works in the future. This story was filled with challenges, heartache, overcoming difficulties, learning to love yourself and supporting those you care about.

I really enjoyed reading about the struggles of Anna's life and how she overcame them. She had numerous interesting relationships with different characters and this only made her story more enriching. I'm a big fan of romance with happy endings and a pinch of heartache, so this story was a little different to what I normally enjoy. Overall it was a good read that opened your eyes to the many different kinds of love and suffering that the world has.

If you love a little bit of heartache mixed with romance, this book is for you.

First book that I have read by Amanda Prowse and I was addicted to it from the first page. Anna was living a lovely life with her Mum and brother Joe, it didn't matter that she didn't know who her dad was, her Mum more than made up for it and she dearly loved Joe. She didn't have any friends but that didn't matter either as she was quite content with the life she was living. That was until Joe moved out and tragedy struck.

Joe came home to look after her but there was often no food in the house, no one to wash her clothes or look after her and in the end she felt she was the one looking after Joe. But life was about to throw another curveball and she found herself living at her Aunt's home. This was awful, the only good thing was her cousin, but he too went away. Anna knew her Aunt didn't want her there, she made it pretty obvious so after running away she found herself living in a Care home.

At 18 Anna could no longer live in the Care home so it was time to stand on her own two feet and make a life for herself. She found a good job and a place to live and finally found friends. Life was looking up but after a workplace incident, Anna made the decision to stand up for herself and so with a new job and another place to live Anna seemed content.

Still that special someone her Mum told her she would find was still eluding her until she was caught in a lift that's doors wouldn't open and a handsome young gentleman talking her out of a panic attack.

Theo had never met anyone like Anna and after spending just a short time in her presence in the lift of his family's building, he was determined to get to know her better as he had never felt as close to anyone as he did Anna, she made him feel so many things, but most of all, she made him feel like a true friend, and he was going to make sure that she felt the same way, after all, he had only ever had two friends in his life.

This was a beautiful emotional story, and I was so engrossed in it, I didn't want it to end.

Thanks to Netgalley and HarperCollins Publishers Australia for the opportunity to read and review this book.
