If you are wanting a really good family book to get your teeth into, this is the one. The characters are so vivid and the story reels you in and completely captivates you.

Ava Marchette grew up with a wonderful Father and an abusive Mother. Her love for her Father was all consuming but she had another love, cooking. She finally found her courage to leave and follow her dream of finding the perfect Panna Cotta, her Father's favourite dessert. With not much money she found herself applying for a job at a B&B where she met and fell in love. But life is always not what we want and after a tragic occurrence, she found herself one again looking for another place to call home and lost the love of her life, John Tate.

Thirty years pass, relationships were had, children were born and were it not for an article in a magazine in a doctor's waiting room, Ava would never have thought to make her way back to Candlebark Creek but fate had other plans and truths finally come out that will change everyone's lives forever.

I absolutely loved reading about the lives of the Tate, O'Brien and Marchette families. The story was so well written, you could almost visualise the land, the people and the wonderful food. Jen McLeod can certainly tell a beautiful story that I wished could go on forever.
