I love Lucy Dawson's books and this was another addictive read. Alex a respected doctor, goes away on a girls trip to Ibiza with her friends and ends up getting drunk and sleeping with a random guy called Johnathon but afterwards she is wrecked with guilt and confesses to her husband who also had a 1 night stand recently with a work colleague but to her absolute horror she discovers Johnathon is actually a patient of hers and he is only 17 and he has a very different story about that night to the one Alex's and there begins the whole he said she said story line and I loved the way it was written because you didn't know who was telling the truth and it was frustrating and brilliant and kept me hooked the whole way through. I was a little bit let down by the ending but I loved it and would definitely recommend it!

Thank you very much to NetGalley, Bookouture and Lucy Dawson for the advanced copy of "White Lies" in return for my honest and unbiased review.

Wow- what a story.

I've had a bit of a love/hate relationship with Lucy Dawsons books- one I loved...the other i was really enjoying- till it just ended- and there was no ending to the story- and i find that although she writes and narrates a fabulous tale- she just can't seem to wrap things up the way they should be- but this tale blew me away- and that ending.....BRAVO!!!!!!

The story tells of GP Alex waking up on a girls weekend in Ibiza with a young man she's had a one night stand with....which isn't great as shes married with 2 kids.

Alex gets home and confesses her infidelity to her husband- and admits it was revenge due to his own indiscretions.

Then things start to take a sinister turn- all at once shes thrown through a ringer when she discovers that the man she woke up next to in Ibiza- was a 17 year old boy- and also her patient!

And now he is stalking her- blackmailing her- telling his parents she's been abusing him for months.

Then we get Jonathan's version of events- and your opinions of Jonathan soon slip away when he tells the story of how he initiated a relationship with his married family GP- from meeting her during an appointment where they flirted relentlessly....to leaving her a way to contact him....and eventually leading into a full blown affair- and how Alex is now stalking him and his family.

And you are quite literally confused- they both have winning arguments- and you just do't know who to believe.....

I actually inhaled this story at a fast pace! I needed to know- who exactly was lying....how was all of this going to come to a head? At one moment I believed Alex was telling the truth- then Jonathan was the truth teller for me- and it really did take it right to the end before it all came out- and it was so well executed!!!!!

I loved this book- from the start i was turning the pages at rapid pace- and despite there not being one single likeable character in this story-both Alex and Jonathan are selfish and quite frankly not nice people- I actually couldn't stop reading their story.

For me this was a 5* read!

Alex is a respected gp and mother of two...she has a one night stand that ends up turning her life around! The story jumps to the different characters conflicting versions of events...and who knows what to believe?! A great book you will struggle to put down!

There was a lot going on throughout the book but everything was exciting. The mystery of did she knowingly have sex with Jonathan? Was he lying? Was she lying? My opinion bounced around over and over until the last page.

A really good read. Who do you believe? Who is telling the truth? I changed my mind a few times. I got totally caught up in this story from the start and kept reading until I had finished. I read this book in one sitting. It is very well put together and definitely believable. This is definitely a book that I would recommend and that I will be talking about for some time to come.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.

White Lies was a great psychological thriller that hooked me from the first few pages and had to continue until I’d finished.
A respected GP who says it was a one night stand and a 17 year old boy who says they had an affair lasting a few months, who do you believe?
Each time we heard from a different perspective I swayed to thinking that character was telling the truth and the others were lying. Kept me guessing to the end.

The storyline was one that I thought could turn out really well. Unfortunately, for me, I just couldn't get into the book. I had a hard time connecting with the characters and that's a big drawback for me.

Holy cow! What did I just read????? And that ending!!! Wow, just wow! White Lies is a fast paced psychological thriller and was full of suspense until the end. Dr. Alexandra Inglis makes a very big mistake right in the beginning of the book and her life comes crashing down right after. So many lies throughout - not little white lies, but big fat lies! He said, she said ... who can you believe? I was given this book through the publisher and NetGalley for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own. I will be thinking about this book for days to come!!

*Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.* Dr Alexandra Inglis seems to have it all - a career as a GP, lovely house, husband and two little girls. However, one mistake is going to bring her perfect life crashing down around her. Told from a variety of perspectives and jumping back and forth in time, the story of Alexandra and Jonathan unfolds. I am loathe to give away too many details of the plot, as it is quite a suspenseful book. The novel has me guessing until the end and was a thoroughly enjoyable read.

While on a girls only weekend trip Alex gets drunk in a club and has a one night stand with a young man who turns out to be a patient of hers. Shw swears she didn't know, he says they have been having an affair for months-who is lying? Not a great read but it kept me turning the pages until the predictable ending.

Well, these certainly weren't white lies. They were huge, horrific lies with huge, horrific consequences.

I'll admit that I'm not often fond of books in which every character behaves badly - and here every last one of them does behave horribly - but the book had twists and turns and I found myself constantly wondering which characters were actually telling the truth!

American laws being different than British laws, some of what was 'wrong but not illegal' in this book was both wrong and illegal where I live, so it was kind of hard to have everyone keep saying, 'but it wasn't illegal' all the time. lol - but I guess that's a personal hang up?

Regardless, it was an entertaining popcorn read.

I'd read the author again.

White Lies by Lucy Dawson was one of the few books this year that I finished in one sitting. I first off want to thank Netgalley and all parties involved for my arc this was my first book by this author but it won’t be my last. This is one of my first He said She said novel and I loved it so much. WOW just wow at how good this was. I found the Alex and Johnathan chapters very well done and found myself conflicted with who I felt sorry for Her, Him, both or No one. Alexandra Inglis is a respected doctor within her practice and for all that know her. There are ethics and boundaries that have to be in place and each doctor to abide by. Within these pages those boundaries are broken when both Alex and Johnathon cross those lines and she becomes obsessed with him or does he? What I loved most about this story is that you read and yet when you get to the end you hold your kindle and go…. What did I just read???????? I am impressed by every word on the pages of this book and encourage everyone who loves a thriller to pick this up.

Lucy Dawson is one of my favourite authors. Every time I read another one of her books it becomes my new favourite and I loved White Lies. Have just finished reading it, I found it difficult to put down and the storyline really pulled me in.
Terrific read! A great pace created by the different characters points of view. Really weren't sure what was going to happen until the very last page and then......
A gripping book from start to end with twists and turns galore, my kind of book! A must read this summer!

Thank you.
