Misadventures with the Boss by Kendall Ryan is book 12 in the Misadventures series. This is the story of Piper Daniels and Jackson Dane. This is easily a standalone book.
Piper at a dry spell in her personal life but she just moved and will be starting a new job soon. Her sister trying to help break the ice for her sets her up on a website for a hookup. That hookup turned out to be the hottest encounter she has ever had but now it is on to work with the new job. Piper is stunned to see her one night stand is now her new boss. Jackson can't forget his time with Piper and he isn't going to let it past like she wants.
This was a great hot quick easy read...loved it!

I love romance novels that are about forbidden relationships. This one was no exception!

Really loved the character background stories and how they played into the climax of this book. I left wishing the characters a long and happy life!

This is the first book I have read of Kendall Ryan's, but it will not be the last.

I received an ARC of Misadventures with the Boss for an honest review. I love Kendall Ryan so this was a no brainer for me to read. This book was the perfect mix of sexy, tension, chemistry and, my favorite, a great plot twist. Jackson is a workaholic and Piper is new in town. Her sister gets her set up on a dating site and she ends up meeting hew new boss. The book was fun and fast-paced with excellent writing!

Wow! This was almost too spicy for me! It was a great read, though, and I loved the storyline. The ending felt a bit rushed, but since I got my happily ever after, it worked. :)

Piper just moved to New York for an executive assistant position. She has a few days off before she starts her new job and planned on a few lazy days watching Netflix. Her baby sister has better plans for her. She sets her up on a hook up site and her first date just so happens to be her future boss. She just doesn't know it yet.

Jackson owns his own company. He's driven and too busy for relationships, preferring casual hookups. He's never wanted more until he hooks up with Piper. Being the clueless man that he is, he doesn't know why he wants more. When she shows up as his new assistant on Monday morning, it doesn't help him forget about her.

This was a quick and hot office romance read. Jackson is your typical playboy who only wants to work hard at work but not at relationships. Piper is the type A character that is perfect for an executive assistant. She's organized and takes charge at work but she's typically more reserved in life. Her baby sister has to push her to go out in the new city to keep her from staying home every night.

I like how the author handled these two characters. While Jackson was clueless at first, you do get to see him fall for her and owns up to it when he finally realizes it. I appreciate that so much more than the man fighting it and it was a nice surprise. Piper, despite being the reserved type, was able to let herself be open with Jackson.

I have never read any books written by Kendall Ryan and this was a good read. I blew threw the book in one day beacaue I wanted to see how the story developed.

The story of Piper and Jackson are as so much more than sex it showed how their relationship became so much more. They had so much chemistry together from the first moment. Once you started reading you wanted to see where their relationship was going to go. This is a must read and one of the best misadventures that I have read so far.

Sexy fun romance

Kendall Ryan did a great job handling a difficult trope in today's political climate- employee/boss sexual hook-up. Her writing was very clear that Piper and Jackson's attraction was very much mutual. I loved how as the relationship progressed they grew to really like and then love each other. I also liked how in some ways the road to their HEA healed some of Jackson's hurts. This was a very enjoyable read, you'll want to add this book to your TBR shelf.

This book was okay. The writing felt a little old fashioned and too proper, which is kind of an issue I have had with other Kendall Ryan books I've read in the past. The book was also really fast paced and extremely predictable.

I didn't particularly care for Piper. She always thought one way and then did the exact opposite. I thought she had no backbone and was extremely selfish. While I admired her work ethic, I thought her morals were pretty lacking. The secret she kept from Jackson was terrible and was so incredibly selfish, regardless of what she rationalized in her head. Any idiot would know that that is a TERRIBLE secret to keep and he had every right to push her boundaries with it.

Jackson was an okay character. I thought between the two he was the more level headed and had more redeeming qualities. I didn't get the vibe from him that he wanted this to be a no-strings hook up regardless of what he said. Maybe that was my problem with both of these characters. We're told that they're one way, but they act in the exact opposite way.

I felt the "secret' was also a little taboo and super predictable. I always feel like it's a bit of a cop-out when authors use that conflict.

Anyway, would I recommend this? I don't know. If you're a Kendall Ryan fan, I guess I would, but if you're not..then no. I've read a few other Misadventures books and I really liked them, but that's probably more of an author preference issue.

Great book - I loved Piper & Jackson together!! Piper is sassy & a great match for Jackson just takes him a while to figure this out. Loved the epilogue & yes a very HEA

Great read & it can definitely be read as a stand-alone !!

Loved this booked, it was fun and super sexy. The chemistry was crazy hot, the sex scences where HOT. The storyline was great and held my attention and I like the characters alot as well. My first read by this author, but definitely not the last.

I wanted more of the time they were together outside of the office. Adventures around NYC together and how they learned more about each other then when everything blew up in the end it would be more impactful because we were more invested in this couple as readers.
What a great younger sister to set up this date with Jackson. Oh and after a wonderful experience with Jackson, Piper goes into work to find out he is her new boss, who desperately needs her in his life. These two work through business issues with ease and grace but can they work through personal issues the same way? They know how to heat up an elevator but there is little romance or dating in this book.

Another fun, quick, dirty read in the misadventures series! It can be read as a stand-alone (which I'm assuming most people do) or as a larger part of the series.

I've enjoyed each Misadventures book I have read. This is my first experience with author Kendall Ryan and I will certainly be back for more! Love the chemistry between Piper and Jackson!! Hot, steamy quick read!

Jackson, desperate for some "action" sets up a profile on a dating website, saying he was looking to "hook up" with some one, was instantly drawn to, Piper's profile. They met, and hit it off immediately.
Piper, starts her new job, in this new city. When she gets there, her one night stand, turns out to be her new boss...What are the odds?
After the first miserable week of working together (both fantasizing about the other) Jackson, makes a prior to, Piper. Does she accept?
There seems to be trouble in paradise, when Piper gets some sister news. No matter how disturbing the news can be, if you care and love enough, you can prevail. I've never read Kendall Ryan before. But I will now be looking her up.

Okay, this is my favorite one in the series up to date! I blew through this book on a Sunday afternoon. We all know that I read almost every book that Kendall Ryan writes, so when I saw that she was writing for the Misadventures Series I knew I had to get my grabby little hands on it.

I loved Piper and Jackson! These two had chemistry. OH LAWD they some major chemistry going on!!! They were lighting up the pages with it. Had me fanning myself while reading. Jackson was such a dirty talker, very steamy stuff ya’ll!

What I liked the most about this book was that it was so much more than just sex. We got to see their relationship bloom and become into something great. I couldn’t help but fall in love with them throughout the story.

The only reason I couldn’t give it 5 stars because It did get a bit predictable towards the middle there for me.

Overall, this book was great! I loved the characters and it had great amounts of steamy moments. Even if you are new to the series, I suggest picking this up. Especially if you like office/forbidden romance!

Piper Daniels is looking to start over. After a tough break-up, she's ready to begin a new job in a brand new city, but to say her social life is still lacking is an understatement. With her family back at home, she relies on calls with her sister to stay connected to them. Her sister realizes that instead of getting out to experience her new city, she's sitting at home alone. To help her out, Piper's sister sets up a blind date for her though a dating app hoping this will help her sister acclimate faster.

Jackson Dane is a successful businessman and CEO who is certainly not lacking in the hotness department. He's focused on a new merger that is on the horizon and there isn't much else on his mind with the exception of finding a woman who is willing to go to bed with him. He's been in a bit of a drought and he turns to setting up a blind date to take care of his needs.

When Piper and Jackson meet the evening turns steamy very quickly. The two end up exactly where Jackson hopes and while it isn't something Piper generally does, she certainly isn't sorry it happened. Well, until the next morning when she shows up at her new job and she discovers that Jackson is her boss. Will these two be able to work together or is it all going to end badly because of one night that they both don't regret?

This is one of my favorite "Misadventures" books. I enjoyed how the relationship between Piper and Jackson morphed over the course of the book. There was definite growth and it was wonderful to see how both characters made strides both individually and as a couple. I highly recommend picking this one up!
