Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this title.

Unfortunately, this was one I chose not to finish. My apologies for the late notice. As I don't want my low rating to appear on the site and potentially impact the choices of other readers, I wait until after a title has been published/no longer able to be downloaded.

Inadvertently, I waited much longer than intended to give feedback for this title.

I look forward to the next title through your company!

Thanks,
Laura

When the past is not forgotten…

Cowboys and love in a small town in Colorado was the perfect escape. I mean it had me at cowboys! Mateo personified all the qualities with his love of bronc riding, his devotion to family, and his need to provide and protect. He loved the ladies too (and they loved him) but his family was his heart. When Everly made him question his plans for the future he was not happy… Love and her family had burned Everly badly. Leaving everything behind – family, her career, her whole life - she changed gears completely, finding her niche in Topaz Falls and the people who lived in it. A blind date and all the plans were in jeopardy…

Sweet, full of drama, I loved this small-time romance with big heart feels. They both struggled with heartbreaking losses and betrayals, pain they bonded over but was hampered by their very different visions of the future. The story was full of light-hearted moments, pesky (and lovable) friends and supporting characters already loved if you’ve read this series before.

I laughed and cried and finished this story with a happy sigh… Thankful there are more stories to come. ~Diane, 4.5 stars

Everly has rough past and she escaped fancy life and created her own little paradise as a contractor on a farm. But it seems that once again she will have to find something new because she got a new landlord who is not thinking about expending her lease. Mateo is bronc rider and is thinking about retirement and to provide his family he is planning on building a resort on newly bought land. The attraction between Everly and Mateo is very strong and Everly try to show Mateo what land means to town and people. Both are well-developed characters. Mateo has a hero complex which he finds to suppress toward the end of the book. Kendall is a person with great heart and with the will to help others. The book is enjoyable to read the end was a little bit too corny sweet but it was great to see their HEA.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

True-Blue Cowboy is a romantic story about Everly, a former lawyer in San Francisco who moved to a farm in Colorado after her heart, her confidence and her career were broken apart, and Mateo, a cowboy with hero-complex that feels the constant need of taking care of his family, both emotionally and financially.
This leads Mateo to buy the farm Everly is leasing. Although their relationship starts when they're set up on a blind date, we don't know this "trick" from Mateo until after they've already met.
In my opinion, the first half of the book is kind of slow, only with a few interesting moments here and there, but it was most of time they remembering the kiss they had during their blind date (and convincing themselves it was nothing, although they couldn't stop thinking about the kiss...)
Their romance is cute but, IMHO, plain in some aspects. They had already fallen in love with each other after just one kiss (or at least they couldn't get it out of their heads), but they don't come clean until much later. When they started living together, the story took a nice turn, in my opinion, but besides the hook-up, nothing romantic happened. I laughed when Mateo noticed the matching underwear (matching underwear! Do men really notice it or even care about that? LOL)
I did see Mateo's inner change (how he tells his mother and his sister, how he opens up to Everly), but with Everly I needed more. She moved to Colorado to get away from her past. It's been 2 years. OK. But at the beginning of the book, she was still heart-broken. And suddendly, when Mateo is basically a new person, she's healed up, is in love and has already forgotten her ex-fiancé's betrayal.
I liked that the story had some sentences in Spanish and French (Mateo talks to Everly in Spanish more times than he does with his mother). But about this, I've found some kind of expressions that a native Spanish-speaker like me would find... odd.
First, when Mateo said "buen Dios". I think it was a literal translation from "Good Lord", but no one in Spanish says that like an expression of surprise or astonishment, maybe "Oh, Dios", "Dios mío" or even "¡Dios Santo!". Also, when Mateo and Everly where "rolling in the hay", Mateo was calling her "bebé" or "niña", which was kind of...weird, because it's like if he was calling her baby or little girl. Maybe "chica" or "nena" would have been more appropiate for a sexual intercourse between 2 adults (no-pedo).
When Mateo tells Everly "Sí, bebé, ven acá", althought the sentence is well-built and has sense, however, the word "acá", here, is mainly used in the south of South America (Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile...) , so if Mateo was from Mexico, it'd have more sense that he'd have said "aquí" since it's more widely used by Spanish-speakers when we want to say "here".
When Mateo and Everly are getting steamy and he tells her "puedo tener suficiente de ti" and he later translates it to "I can't have enough of you", it doesn't mean that. It'd mean the opposite, since there's not "no" in the Spanish sentence, so Mateo "has had enought of Everly" oops!
Also, in French (I know, I know, I'm annoying, but languages are my thing :P ), when Everly tells Mateo "tu es exquis", it's OK, but I'd use "exquis" for describing food or decor. When you want to say that someone is exquisite, it's better to use "magnifique". Also, when they have already "rolled in the hay" and Everly tells him that he has a beautiful soul ("vous avez une belle âme"), it's kind of weird to use the "vous" since they have already had sex. In Spanish it's called tutear, or in French tutoinment. You use the "tú" or "tu" instead of the "usted" or "vous" when the situation isn't formal, when you know the person...
About the accent marks, I wasn't paying special attention, since I know this book was written by a person that probably has a British or American keyboard, but I did notice that sometimes, words like "bebé" had the accent mark and other times they don't. (PS.: "bebe" without the accent mark on the last "-E", means drink, as a verb. Drink the water, Bebe el agua).
The story was a little bit different that what I was expecting but, overall, I enjoyed it.

An entertaining and refreshing read. Not your cookie-cutter romance. I loved the character development and the progression of the story, particularly the depth of the background elements and the messages in the story. Totally delightful.

Cowboy romance....What can I say? I saw this and thought it's gonna be super cute with a hero who's a cowboy and a heroine and it's gonna have some humor. What I got was a formulaic book that read like they had to hit a certain number count and fit inner dialogue in it. There were some funny moments but it just seemed forced to me and I know this author can do so much better than this because I've read her other books. I just didn't feel it in this book.

I’ve been wanting to read more cowboys and this one sounded really cute. The heroine is a farmer and the hero is a bronc rider who recently bought the land her farm sits on. He’s got different plans for what he wants to use the land for and wants her out, but fate has different plans when he is forced to move in with her. Fun setup, right?

Well, this book was a nice quick, read but at the same time it felt like a Harlequin Presents story. Does that even make sense? It was simple and uneventful with a lot of every day events narration. While I found it fun that the heroine is chasing her farm animals around, I didn’t need pages of it. After a while I just started to skim some parts because of it.

The story, though? It was fun. There’s a tiny dash of danger towards the end and some emotional parts in the middle. While I can’t say I was fully on board with a “love” connection I still liked the two main characters together and I loved how opposites they were but how could see how they could work.

This was my first Sara Richardson read, at least that I can remember. I think it fits the mood for when you’re looking for something easy going and sweet.

True-Blue Cowboy by Sara Richardson
Rocky Mountain Cowboy (short story)
SAVED BY THE COWBOY BY A.J. PINE
Everly Brooks is finally living her dream. Renting a farm in Topaz Falls, Colorado, is the perfect antidote to her high-stress life back in San Francisco. It's the ideal place to raise chickens, grow veggies, and run her farm-to-table restaurant. There's just one problem: her new landlord. Mateo Torres is a handsome-as-hell bronc rider who oozes charm, melts hearts-and plans to kick Everly off the farm . . .
Mateo has dreams, too. He'd bought that land as an investment, so he could take care of his mom and sisters, which means Everly has to go. Unfortunately for him, this former big-city girl is just as stubborn as the broncs he rides. When his trailer floods and forces him to move into Everly's farmhouse, things between them really start to heat up. Sure, living under the same roof might not be the best way to settle their dispute over the land. But when two rivals share everything-from heated words to scorching kisses-it's definitely the hottest.
this is Everly Brooks and Mateo Torres'story.
“Trust me, you’ll like tonight’s surprise.” Darla bounced off the barstool and smoothed down her chic tunic. Crazy how put together the woman could look after a full day of working. Her cropped black hair still had shape and style. Though she didn’t need it, her makeup still looked as fresh as if she’d put it on ten minutes ago. Her unsmudged silvery eyeliner happened to perfectly complement her indigo eyes, which always flashed with a lively energy.
Everly, on the other hand, didn’t hold up so well. Her days involved cooking breakfast and lunch in the warm kitchen of her café before heading out to harvest produce and clean the animal pens on her small farm. At least she’d managed to shower and change before meeting Darla.
“Finally.” Darla darted away in the direction of the door. “Your surprise is here.”
I set us up on a double date!”
Darla “And Mateo here”—she patted his bicep fondly—“is always good for helping a woman take her mind off the past. Am I right?” Her elbow dug into his ribs.
“That does happen to be a specialty of mine.” He eased a step closer to Everly. Everything about the bronc rider was dark—from his eyes to his clothes to the cowboy hat he wore tipped forward on his head. Mystery wrapped itself in the shadows of his face, hiding secrets he likely didn’t want to share. The tattered jeans he wore gloved his lower body, but somehow he still had room to swagger. And he didn’t have to try. Mateo Torres was a man who could swagger without moving a muscle.
Studying him, Everly finally understood why the women in town referred to him as Zorro. The lustrous dark hair, the tanned skin, and seductive eyes made him appear downright dangerous, but his irresistible smile fooled his prey into thinking he was harmless.
True-Blue Cowboy by Sara Richardson is a 4 star book.

The Rocky Mountain Riders series just keeps getting better and better with each book!

I loved getting to know both Everly and Mateo better after catching glimpses of them earlier in the series. They are perfect for each other and the attraction is there, but things get complicated when Mateo buys the farm Everly has been leasing for her restaurant.

All of the book club girls make an appearance, and I like strong their friendship is.

If you're looking for a sweet romance, this is the book for you! You do not need to read the other books in the series first, but I recommend you do because they are all great!

I just can't seem to get enough of cowboys. This is another cowboy in tight jeans, a Stetson, and a big ego to match. I actually wasn't expecting another installment in the series because these book were originally for the Cortez brothers, which I loved by the way. Nonetheless, when I saw it I had to read it.

This book follows Levi Cortez's friend, Mateo, and local city girl turned farmer named Everly. What starts out as a blind date turns into a war over land and then love...awww! Everly is renting a farm and Mateo had just become her new land lord. Mateo will be retiring soon from the rodeo and he wants to lay down some roots in the charming, small town. His plan is to turn the land into a condo development to turn a profit for his family back home in Mexico. Sparks fly as they try to put their feelings aside and one each other up. It's entertaining to say the least and Mateo, oh goodness me, speaks Spanish in this book which made me blush. It's every girl's dream, at least mine, to have Spanish spoken softly in her ear while making love. It's pure passion.

I loved the characters and they both had motivations for pursuing their desires. They both had a heart of gold and they were perfect for each other. I don't have any complaints except for the pacing at times.

The characters were great, the storyline was solid, and it was heartfelt and well written. The main thing that I loved about this story was Mateo speaking the language of love so passionately.(squeal like a schoolgirl). Ir a recogerlo!

Cowboy book boyfriend alert!!!

WOW!! Just WOW!! I love to find these kinds of stories, full of love, passion, awesome characters and one beautiful happily ever after!! True-Blue Cowboy captivated me with the beautiful soul of Everly, and the golden heart of Mateo. And I’m so happy with the outcome of their love story.

Everly was a lawyer back in San Francisco but her bright future was ruined and she was forced to start all over again. Three years later she is living a simple and quiet life in a small town in Colorado, running a farm and a cafe, and building a great and meaningful relationship with the people in town. One of her friends set her up with Mateo Torres, the sexy cowboy in town. And it was a disaster of a date—Well, kind of… But things got complicated when Mateo purchases the land where the farm, the house, and the restaurant is and he has plans very different from the plans Everly’s.

I cried and laughed and sighed with this book. Everly cares so much for her friends and the people in the town. She has found happiness and a true meaning in life in what she does in the farm and the restaurant. But she hasn’t completely moved on from what happened all those years ago in San Francisco—and her parents don’t help either, UGH—but Mateo *SIGHHHHH* came with his crazy plans and destabilized everything for her!! IN A VERY GOOD WAY!! But at first, it didn’t look like it, and that was what kept me stick to this book.

I loved the plot of True-Blue Cowboy, the characters were simply amazingly developed and the conflict in their story was greatly built and beautifully solved.

Highly recommended.

Everly Brooks is living what she believes is her dream, a small café, some chickens, a goat, a small garden, a few ducks and hopefully she will be able to buy the farm the she is renting one day. That all changes when Mateo Torres bronc rider buys the land with ideas of an investment. Wanting to turn it into condos. Not being back in the town in a while he is surprised to find that Everly has everyone by the heart and the stomach. People don’t just come for her coffee, but also for her food and pastries. Now fighting with a women he figures without talking to her is going to go back to San Francisco, is surprised and shocked when people in the town begin to turn on him when they find out that he wants to kick her out. This is of course after she has him come into the house to live because his trailer gets flooded. When she overhears what he is going to do and not really from him she tells him to leave. Torres keeps thinking like he is getting the bad end of the deal, but all he is thinking about is himself really, and it is not until he realizes he wants ,more that he decides to change and go to Everly. Some funny moments and some fun characters, overall not a bad story.

This is book 4 in the Rocky Mountain Riders series and I loved it just as much as the ones before.

Everly Brooks left her life in San Francisco and is living her dream. Renting a farm and growing her own vegetables and running a farm to table restaurant. She has made some great friends and is settling in nicely.

Mateo the sexy and famous bronc rider has just purchased the farm that Everly rents and has big plans for the property which does not include Everly and her restaurant. He bought the land as an investment because he cannot be a Bronc rider forever and he needs help take care of his mom and sisters back in Mexico.

When his trailer gets damaged and he is forced to stay with Everly in the farm house the chemistry between them is pretty hot. Will the attraction between them sway Mateo's decision regarding Everly and the farm?

I haven't read many books for cowboys but since this month for Forever books is about cowboys I decide to try this one and I absolutely loved it!I adored Everly but I didn't fall in love incidentally with Mateo. There was attraction and tension between them and it was palpable.

True-Blue Cowboy is the fourth book in the Rocky Mountain Ryders series and it can be read as a standalone.
I did enjoy this book very much. It is a sweet and feel good story that I just didn't want to put down. I would have read this in one day if it weren't for the fact that I was so tired .
I give this 4 out of 5.

Everly is finally doing something she loves when Mateo comes into her life things seem to be going against everything she has planned. Mateo will stop at nothing to do everything for his family. Can they both do what they love and protect their hearts?
I really enjoyed the books I have read in this series and this book did not disappoint. I really loved the friendships. I loved how a town can rally around each other and support each other. I really enjoyed how sweet, independent Everyly is she is hands down one of my favorite characters in this series. I really also loved reading about Kenna and I hope that she has a story coming one day. This book seemed like it flew and was a real page turner, I was kind of sad to see it end I can't wait for more. If you have never read any book in this series you can't go wrong.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion.
