I received this book from Netgalley and Publisher for free in exchange for an honest review.

First, I want to start by saying this cover is beautiful. That is what drew me into the book then after reading the synopsis, I found this book intriguing. But with that being said, this book did not meet my expectations. I tried to push my way through it. I ended up making it about 30% of the way through and just had to DNF the book. I don't like putting a book down but I just did not want to waste my time trying to push through it. The book had a good concept, It just wasn't executed properly.

Some are saying it is 3 dark thrones meets a Throne of glass. I could see where they might be getting that from but the story just did not do it for me.

This is the start of another wonderful series by Morgan Rice. The cover is absolutely gorgeous! The characters are well written and relatable in this gritty, romantic, and adventurous epic fantasy novel. The world building was great and I found myself so attached to these sisters stories and wanting to see where they will go in the next book!

Sophia and Kate are sisters and orphans growing up in a harsh world with big dreams. One wants to be royal and the other a hunter warrior. They also both have a secret that they have to hide, they are both mind readers. After terrible abuse at the orphanage the sisters split up to try to achieve their goals but they are never too far away with their abilities.

They both find themselves stealing things to survive but this makes Kate's anger and rage more intense. Kate is also very protective and tries to become a warrior who can always protect herself and her sister. Yes there is insta-love but it's not something I hate if it's done well and furthers the story. Sophia uses her psychic power to her advantage to gain entrance to the court and meet the prince she has her eye on. Is Sophia too naive for a life in court though?

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book for a fair and honest review.

I recall seeing someone reference Game of Thrones's Sansa and Arya. Having read the beginning of this book I see the comparison fits well. What this lacks however is a successful following through. I got bored quite quickly and had to skim to see how the story went.

I went into this book without researching the author. Without realizing that this is a 6 or more book series with cliffhangers after less than 200 pages per each book. I finished this one, but had a little trouble with the timelines of both sisters. I won’t be continuing this series.

I received an ebook copy from the publisher and NetGalley for an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley for providing this copy!
This book really had me clenching my fists because it was such an "almost". I liked the concept of two sisters running away to create better lives for themselves and learning to use their ability of reading/controlling the minds of others. There were definitely some good elements in here and a big bag of potential but everything felt rushed and sudden and I felt nothing for the sisters except annoyance. Kate is the stereotypical girl who wants to fight like a boy (which is emphasized constantly with her wanting to stab everyone in her path). Sophia is the naive girl who wish for a life at court as a noble woman and seem surprised that dreams like that doesn't just fall into her lap. It was overall a good idea and it could have been an amazing series, but unfortunately the characters were nothing but annoying and the story lacked purpose and a decent pace. 2/5
(positive side note: I loved the cover)

I loved that book very very much!
I am amazed at the writing of the author and I loved the action and the characters.
The first thing that got to me was the title and I immediately decided that I wanted this book ad that I wanted to read it ^^
I am not disappointed and I hope everybody else gets to enjoy it as much as I did.

As was expected.. another amazing book by Morgan Rice! Everything went a little quick, making me feel like I was in a rollercoaster, but the story was well built and very enjoyable.

I loved the idea of this book, and even the overall story, but I found it to be very predictable. The characters are overly simple, and the story is hard to follow.

I was disappointed in this Morgan Rice book. I usually enjoy her books but this, seemed to me leaning towards Mills & Boon. I liked the sisters, Sophia and Kate the way they were complete opposites. However, I just couldn't finish the book. It would appeal to younger readers.

I've given a fair and honest opinion of this book I received from the publisher.

A Throne for Sisters is about two orphaned sisters, Kate and Sophia who can communicate with each other with their minds. This book is a short and fast read. I really enjoyed following the sisters story even when they went their own seperate ways. It was interesting that they were still connected even though they were on opposite sides of the city, persuing there own dreams.

Sophia persues life as a noble and Kate wants to live in the country and learn to fight.

The cover for this book is absolutely beautiful.

To be honest, I probably won't continue with this series. I wish there were more depth to the main characters as well as the cast of secondary characters.  As a whole, there aren't many descriptions as far as the characters go, there is some backstory, but overall not a whole lot to work off of. The relationships weren't realistic, with each sister falling in love within moments of meeting a potential love interest.

The overall dialogue and plot were quite simple and overall predictable. As soon as I really started getting into the story, it was over.

There are also a few plot holes, and characters that were mentioned that I thought would be important and then they were never mentioned again. Perhaps they will be mentioned later in the series.

This book can be read in one sitting. I recommend it to middle grade readers who enjoy fantasy and adventure.

I loved this way more than I expected to. I guess I'd describe it as Three Dark Crowns meets Heartless meets The Selection. It was super captivating, there was a lot of suspense, and the supernatural elements were really well written. It was fast-paced, which is always a bonus, but I think it was perhaps a little too fast paced in certain areas. That being said, it was only 186 pages, so for a short story I guess that's normal. This was a super fun read, and I can't wait to move on to the rest of the series!

This book was a quick read, but definitely entertaining! A tale of two orphan sisters on separate journeys to live the life they think they want. Oh and the can read minds, which comes in handy!

Two sisters both so alike in their gift and yet so different in their dreams. They both long to be safe and happy, but the forms that these take will send them on an adventure that neither of them could imagine leaving the House of the Unclaimed. From the streets to the palace, Sophia longs to win safety in the halls of the most decadent, but will she aim too high and fall back to earth? Kate, the youngest, wants to be able to protect her self at all costs, but will her drive for strength and power cost her dearly? These two sisters, trapped in a life of servitude due to their status of Unclaimed, have been blessed by the gift of being able to read minds of those around them. For all their abilities, there seems to be little understanding of why this is such a scary thing. For some, the mind is their only safe place. These girls use their gifts to lie, steal, and con their way in life. Yet for all the lying, stealing, and barefaced treachery you can’t help hoping that one of them will catch a break.

Author Morgan Rice started this new series after the success of her series The Sorcerer’s Ring(a 17 book series.) Currently planned as a six book series, I have to wonder at why the story was broken up into such chunks. With each book under 200 pages, it is surprising that it was decided that stretching 6 books from what could easily be a nice trilogy was the way to go. After coming to the end of book 1, I felt cheated. The storyline just stopped. It was as if someone had simply taken the story and lifted off the first 186 pages. The story is nice and you get to the meat of the story pretty quickly, with the barest of world-building slapped on. It is an easy read and I would recommend giving them a read. My word of advice on this one though is to grab the second book so you don’t feel robbed. I am currently reading the second in the series, though if it drops me again at the end, I will not be carrying on. I am a great lover of cliffhangers but not a fan of books that simply stop. Fingers crossed for the second.

This was such an interesting concept and I adored the writing and characters.

Well, I did not have any big expectations and that's why I was surprised, because this book is not really bad. Plot is quite short, but it's gripping. There are some cool characters (I personally like Sophie's parts, because it's just so much better than Kate's boring and stereotype parts). But all story it's just like big coincidence. And that's probably the worst thing on the book.

Thanks Netgalley and publisher for ARC!

A Throne for Sisters just feels unfinished - like the book is missing several chapters. Just shy of 200 pages, this felt more like a lengthy prologue. It definitely could have used more description and details.

It definitely plunges you right in the action from the beginning but the story has an unrealistic pace. Sofia attends a ball, charms a prince, falls in love, gets engaged and is then thrown out of the palace in a matter of days while Kate also falls in Iove and becomes a skilled blacksmith in one day. Talk about YA clichés...

Overall, while the premise and the characters had potential, A Throne for Sisters just falls flat.

A somewhat interesting story. I say somewhat because it did seem to be not very well planned. The plot was all over the place to me. I wanted to like it more than I did.

I requested to read this book off NetGalley, so I was excited when I saw the eARC on my Kindle library.
Love the cover.
The story's about two orphan girls, one wants to be among the aristocrats and the other wants to be a fighter. They escape an abusive orphanage and have to fight to live on the outside because well, they're different, and people like them are considered outcasts.
Loved the storyline, however, I did not take to the execution of the story because it felt like the story was all over the place and so much happened in a span of two days that I was left wondering what I got from the book. If you're into YA and love the whole Hunger Games or Game of Thrones feel then you'll feel as though something is lurking underneath this story, like I did. I hope the second book in the series has more depth.
