I had a hard time getting into the story. It didn't keep my attention as I hoped. Maybe this just wasn't my cup of tea.

Warning: This contains a love triangle. If you do not like those, I suggest you do not read. I didn't know this going on or I wouldn't have opted to read this. However, I powered through. But because I am not a fan of triangles it wasn't a super enjoyable read for me personally. 2.5/5

Verity is your average introvert who is madly, deeply, and secretly in love with her boss. She knows nothing good can come from this crush and that it would put them both in an awkward position at the gallery, but her feelings cannot be denied. Verity has never been good with the opposite sex and believes that her love life is more like a curse. So, when her older brother brings home his new bandmate with a sexy Irish accent, that gives off the bad boy persona and sex with every move, there’s no denying he’s bad news for Verity. On a whim, Verity decides to ask Fin to teach her the ways of being a confident, sexy young coed instead of the “Mary” role that he picked up on when they first met.
This is my second review ARC of this author and I was pleasantly surprised to love them both! Before requesting the first book I had never heard of this author even though she has a vast amount of work out there in the literary world. I really enjoy how Marks can draw me into a romance, especially when it is not my go to genre. Every now and then I like to read a little snippet in this is genre and I think I have found my go-to author to fill this niche!
With the well-placed emotions and pitfalls, it is easy to fall in love with her characters and even overlook the love triangle trope! It doesn’t feel like you are reading more like you’re on the outside looking in which amounts to a fun fast read that leaves you wanting more!
Normally I don’t like the type of leading lady that Verity portrays in Twisted in You. She has that whole ‘I’m a spoiled rich kid whose parents don’t love me like I want them to and my love life sucks” aspect going on, but Verity isn’t bratty or rebellious like most of the characters that are portrayed in this type of situation. I kind of felt sorry for her for most of the book and her lack of interpersonal skills. The reason I gave this book a four instead of a five-star rating, was because I can’t really believe her backstory. She had one horrible encounter that was publicized on the Internet and now she refuses to be intimate at all with every guy she dates. The fact that she’s in her 20s and still being compared to the Virgin Mary a.k.a. “A Mary” by Fin is quite absurd. None of the people that she dates knows anything about her backstory and she can’t move past where she’s been for years now. Now after all of that and numerous failed relationships, on a whim, she decides to go all the way with some mysterious Irish men that she is known for like 2.5 seconds.
Finbar McNeil is new in town. One fateful night he was out drinking with Verity’s older brother and they were too slogged to make it home, so they crashed at her place. From that one chance encounter, the rest of the story is set into motion. I really liked Fin and could absolutely see him being a heartbreaker. I would totally fangirl over him at local bars and clubs! It was great to see that there is more than meets the eye and he wasn’t just your typical “bad boy” who was only out to get in your heroine’s pants and not call the next day.
Diego, on the other hand, was really hard to like at first and his character seems to be a little too developed. He’s too young to be a successful Art gallery owner and he seems to play with Verity’s emotions. One minute she can’t decide if he’s gay and dating the coffee guy across the street or the next minute if he’s completely head over heels for her but trying to play it down. His story only continues to be unbelievable and a bit far-fetched which is the second reason for a four-star rating.
Overall, I absolutely loved this series and I will continue reading every book that she adds to it down the road! I would recommend this book to my book friends and on my blog! I’m glad that Marks is already deep into writing the second book because I need to know more!
Thank you Netgalley, Rachel Marks, and Shadow of the Wood publishing for allowing me access to this ARC! As I’ve said before, I have found to be a new favorite romance author and will be on the lookout for more ARCs by Rachel Marks!

Super fun characters with an original enough story to keep the reader interested. I liked the story, it was different enough from the standard NA novel to make it stand out. The mystery kept the pace moving forward at a good clip and made it hard to put down.

Jenna was part of the family business of bails bondsman/ bounty hunters that her mother -Victoria- had taken over when her father had passed away. Now Jenna’s dad and her two sisters- Crystal and Suzanne - worked for Victoria as fugitive recovery agents- bounty hunters- bail bondsman all the same thing . Jenna had been one of a set of triplets.Jenna’s family had one of the most successful fugitive recovery businesses in Colorado. Jenna’s family were all wolf shifters. Jenna had been mated to Will for about five months and then they were hit by a drunk driver . Will had died and Jenna lost her twins due to her injuries. The driver had been hit and run fifty years ago. Cavendish run off to avoid standing trial was jenna reason for joining the family business. Jenna was now after Saradan Silver who had cut off his GPS signaler and ran. He was charged with identity theft. mail fraud, and possessing stolen property. Jenna thought it was a shame Sarandon was a fugitive as he was hot. Jenna was going to Silvertown as that was where Sarandon was listed as living on his license. Victoria was worried for Jenna’s safety but Jenna told her she had her bulletproof vest on, had her rifle, pepper spray, her taser. And a knife on her leg and hand ties. Sarandon brother Erik and had used a deed to a piece of undeveloped land for collateral then later Victoria found out the deed was a fraud. Victoria would have to pay $150, 000 if Sarandon did not show up for court. He was looking at fifteen to thirty year sentence if he was found guilty. Sarandon was heading to Elk Horn cabin for a two week vacation. Sarandon was one of quadruplets brothers- Erik was the oldest, next was Sarandon then Brett and CJ. C J was deputy sheriff for Silvertown. They were all Silvertown wolves. Darien and Lelandi were their pack leaders. The whole town was made up and ran by wolves they even had a judge who was a wolf. Sarandon ran all kinds of adventure/nature tours. Jake was Sarandon’s cousin and a nature photographer. After Sarandon got to the cabin he unloaded everything he had brought and started a fire and decided to go for a run and changed into his wolf form. Sarandon heard a car pull up that he wasn’t familiar with so he ran back to the cabin got dressed and grabbed his gun. Then Sarandon found a woman with her rifle aimed right at him and she was trespassing so he took his rifle and aimed his at her. She tells Sarandon to put his gun down and he does to be nice then she calls him by name and he said he was Sarandon .Silver and Jenna said she was there to arrest him and explained why. Sarandon said he was innocent then she tackled Sarandon to the ground but he switched Jenna to her back and hand tied her wrist with her hand ties. Then Sarandon took her weapons and took her to the cabin and locked her weapons up. Jake had joined them while they were outside then he went inside the cabin with Sarandon and Jenna. Jenna didn’t like meeting with the pack leaders but she was going wherever Sarandon went and she really didn’t have a choice. Jenna and her family didn’t belong to a pack. They then took Jenna to Lelandi and Darien’s home. Jenna had her mother send the mug picture from the jail and the man had a beard this time and the man had a red beard and Sarandon had a dark beard and everyone said the same. C J took a lot of notes and questioned Jenna as they were going to look for whoever stole Saradon’s identity. Jenna also told Sarandon that he had been caught with five different credit cards, three passports, and three different drivers license, Sarandon also had said he hadn’t been in Colorado Springs in a couple of years. Sarandon said his fingerprints would prove his innocence. Eventually Jenna believed Sarandon was not the guilty person. Her she wolf also realized Sarandon was her mate.
I had mixed feelings about this book. I had some problems really getting into this which is unusual for me and a paranormal book. I felt the romance was too slow at times a shifter is suppose to know if another shifter is their mate weather they want to fight it may be a different story but they know. This also dragged for me at times. But the plot was really good and i also loved how the whole pack had Sarandon’s back and would do anything they could to help prove his innocence. I did have some trouble keeping my attention on the story. But it didn’t take jenna all that long to believe Sarandon was innocent. But at least she stayed with him to make sure he didn't take off on her just in case until she just knew Sarandon was a victim also. Then she also helped to find the real criminal. I did like that Sarandon and Jenna did work together and I liked them together. As I said I had mixed feelings but not regret in any way reading this book and I did finish this and enjoy it for the most part. I would also rate this 3.5 if i could and I liked the characters also.

Verity is an upcoming artist and university student living with her two friends Willow and Jade.
She has been secretly in love with her art Studio boss Diego for years, and has had a lot of troubles in recent relationships due to things that have happened in her past.

This was a super cute read and Verity was super cute and a little awkward but that was what was so awesome about her! Sometimes she would randomly blurt something out and it would make me laugh! She was endearing and reading about her finding herself and what she wanted was enjoyable! Another character I really liked was Fin. I will say there was a sort of love triangle (and it is kinda a little frustrating) in this one and the blurb is kinda off to me on what the story is truly about. But anyways back to Fin. He is a musician and a Irishman, and he was pretty funny and a great friend to Verity.

I would recommend this one! It was a cute/quick read. I finished it in two days and I am definitely going to read the next one as the character it is about was my favourite hehe.

Verity has had a rough go in the romance department. She always seems to find the losers or the the wrong guy to latch onto. Case in point, she’s in love with her gay boss. However, when a sexy Irish rocker stumbles into her life, she feels like her problem has been solved. If she can get this sexy Irishman to teach her the ways of love, maybe she can finally find her happily ever after.

Let’s just start out by saying that Verity is a hot mess, and not in the good way. She seems to fumble, mess up, and misinterpret every relationship she’s ever had. Heck, even losing her virginity was nothing but a bet that was later broadcasted to the whole school. This poor girl just can’t seem to get her love life together. However, I felt like she brought it upon herself. I mean, how do you date a guy for over a month and not know that he’s not serious about you? How do you pine away for years over your gay boss (Diego)? How do you end up snagging a great guy (Fin) who actually finds your strange quirks endearing, and then drop him the moment you think your boss may not actually be gay? And how can you have sexual fantasies about one guy, make out with the other, and then immediately go on the date with the other one? Verity really needed to figure her shit out, and at the end of the book, I’m not overly sure that she did, because she didn’t seem to want the other guy to hook up with other females even though she was in a committed relationship with the other dude.

I was totally team Fin on this one. I mean, he was such an amazing guy. When he decided on something, he went all in. So when he set his sights on Verity, he was in it to win it. He was bringing her dinner at her job since he knew she was working late, he invited her to listen to him record at the studio, he was just a stellar guy. Even when Verity started to get wish-washy on him, he gave her space and tried to be her friend. I just thought he was a stand up guy. Her boss Diego, not so much. He never corrected her when she thought he was gay because he knew she had a crush on him and didn’t want her to think there was the possibility of romantic future for them. He has a shady past and he didn’t feel deserving of her. So, even though he loves her, he tries to keep her at arms-length and be there as her friend. At times, he was just as bad as Verity. He’d say they couldn’t cross the line, but then would get all possessive of her when Fin came around. He’d give her stormy, sultry eyes as he told her that he was her boss and that nothing would ever happen between them. I just couldn’t take all the back and forth.

I thought this story was going to be about Verity being in love with her boss, asking Fin for help, and then falling in love with the bad boy. I had no clue it was going to be a back and forth love triangle until the bitter end. And again, I’m not 100% Verity is even completely on board with the person she chose since she still seems to have her claws in the other one. Girl, why are you so concerned about the other guy when you made your choice!? While this isn’t the story I thought it would be, I applaud the author for thinking outside the box and doing something a little different. I mean, we’ve all read this sort of trope before where the girl falls for the guy she’s asked to help her get her groove back. However, the author went a completely different route, one that I did not see coming at all.

While Twisted in You was not what I thought it was going to be, I still enjoyed it. Sure I found Verity a bit annoying, and yes, I really didn’t care for one of the guys she had her eye on. However, the author’s writing was still able to grab me and keep me interested until the very end.

Wasn’t a fan of the story line, also some of the dialogue seemed unrealistic too.

A good solid romance. I liked Verity, the main character, she has had horrible luck with men, but the plot gives her a great chance a meeting someone new. The plot goes off a little towards the middle, but the author tries to keep it together. I enjoyed the characters.

A story about love, life and how to find your way when you’re feeling lost and confused about everything, I found Verity really relatable and actually really liked both Fin and Diego. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Verity Landon is used to living her life between near invisibility and unavoidable spectacle. She's the imperfect child whose older brother is their parents' undeniable favorite, her track record with men has been astonishingly embarrassing, and the love of her life is most likely gay and has her firmly in the employee/friend-zone.

Our leading lady has almost resigned herself to her lonely future when a surprise encounter with a drunk Irishman makes her think that maybe things can change. Perhaps Finbar MacNeil, the dangerously charming and beautifully talented musician, can teach her a thing or two that will finally turn her love life around.

Twisted in You was a quick read, but man, it packed a lot of emotions into 230-odd pages. There were several (slightly) awkward moments where my boyfriend had to ask me why I was snorting into my kindle or silently "squeeing"...apparently my silent cheering looks a lot like alarming convulsions.

If you're a fan of love triangles, Twisted in You packs a doozy- I mean, really, how can you choose who to root for when your options are a tatted Irish musician and an alluring and mysterious art gallery owner? As a rule, I almost always root for the Irishman, but Marks was able to make me question this unwavering habit.

Finbar MacNiel is the kind of man I'd go see perform at a bar as squadrons of tipsy women swooned at his feet, not knowing that there's a caring, gentle man underneath the smarmy surface. Diego, on the other hand, is the man that you admire from afar because he's beautiful but almost unreachable despite his warm attention and protective nature. Both men were interesting, and each has his own mysteries for us to unravel. Diego's secret was a little more dramatic than I was expecting, just given the overall style of the story, but it certainly was NOT anything that I expected at all. Meanwhile, we get teasing snippets and peeks into Fin's life, but there's still so much more to learn.

Since Twisted in You is told in first person, we get the best insight into Verity. She can be impulsive, funny, and a bit of a spazz, but she's kindhearted and just a bit lost. I felt for Verity and her awkward, fumbling quest to learn how to really connect in a relationship. I also admired that she was an artist; as someone who can barely draw a stick figure without feeling like a sadist, I think it's pretty cool when I get to peek into the head of someone who sees the world through different eyes.

Twisted in You is the second novel that I've read by Rachel A. Marks, and I'm glad that I took the time to read it! Even though Twisted in You feels like it goes a little fast, Marks's already working on the second novel which will continue our journey into this cast of characters from Fin's POV. For me, this is a big bonus, because I hate to leave behind a world once I've gotten attached.

Take a chance on Twisted in You. I guarantee you'll be in love by the end :)

Twisted In You By Rachel A Marks is a fabulous book with a steamy romance that leaves you wanting more. Verity is a 29 year old artist who is pressed by her mother to settle down. She is dumped by her boyfriend due to intimacy issues. And her brother is mommy's favorite. After refusing to let this crumble her, she falls sort of kinda for Finbar, her boss. He is sexy and Irish. Or does she? This is a love triangle. Diego is also in the mix. Who should she pick? Find out in this book. Can't wait for the second. 3.5 stars out of 5.

Thanks Netgalley for a copy to read and review

Love the cover, blurb excited me but the book failed to really do anything for me. First of all, that first chapter......can anyone say awkward? Socially inept is one thing but if Verity didn't even notice the guy was not thinking he was her boyfriend...Geez. Her ability to be close to Fin and Diego didn't seem to bring forward the awkwardness, then why did Phoenix? Apparently he wasn't right for her and everyone knew it but Verity. The whole book continued with this same awkwardness. Verity spent years thinking Diego was gay... but he wasn't. Too inept to ask him? Then with the whole Con artist stuff...ugh. Seemed like an after thought because Diego and Verity were awkward together. Now Fin...awkward. The whole calling out another woman's name...Gwen. I tried to like it and the ending seemed normal but at that point I'd just about given up. I wasn't entertained at all...at least until the last chapter. The only normal part of the book which flowed and didn't feel strange. So I'd give it two stars. I'm being nice when I didn't even want to finish it.

A big thank you to NetGalley for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. First time reading this author. I fell in love with Finbar!!!! I personally didn't like Diego but c'est la vie. I thought it was odd that a 29 year old artist could be world renown and own there own gallery but maybe you can. I liked Verity but didn't love her. Overall I found it a bit confusing but a worthwhile read. It was an enjoyable read. I give it a 3.75.
