I'm not a huge smurf fan but felt I would give this book a chance after seeing it. It was a fun book to read, I probably won't go looking around for more because it just isn't my typical type of book to read, but it was enjoyable.

The Return of Smurfette by Peyo is a cute collecting of stories revolving around Smurfette visiting the Smurf Village. For some reason, here she lives away from the village instead of in it. I love the Smurfs. They are an integral part of my childhood. But Smurfette lived in the village with the other Smurfs. These stories had the male Smurfs much more attracted to Smurfette than in the TV series. Yea, they sometimes low-key flirted in the show. Nothing like this though, which was a turn off for me. Messin’ with my childhood here! I imagine younger readers unfamiliar with the original show would enjoy this more than I.

'The Return of Smurfette' from Papercutz is a series of fun short stories about Smurfette and how the other smurfs try to get her attention and her heart.

Smurfette doesn't live around the other Smurfs, but she does come around to visit. When she does, the other Smurfs always make a big deal of it. In the three main stories in this book along with the shorts, Smurfette plays a part, either in character or in motive. Gargamel shows up to try to capture Smurfs in his specially designed garden full of traps. The Smurfs celebrate Halloween. And Papa Smurf celebrates a birthday.

The stories are cute, and there are some stories by Peyo included in this collection. I'm not the biggest Smurf fan around, but this would be a fun read for younger readers.

I received a review copy of this graphic novel from Papercutz and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.

A great book for our family summer reading time! We love to learn and this book was fantastic for my twin 3rd graders!

Living in Denmark, I had the fortune to read this comic years ago, but it's been years, so reading it again in a different translation was a great treat nonetheless. I grew up with the Smurfs and have always loved them, and this collection of short strips was a fun alternative to the full-length comics I read as a child.

Great addition to the Smurfs collection for anyone who loves the Smurfs! I enjoyed all the mini stories in this book. The only thing I didn’t like was how everyone seemed to be head over heels for Smurfette. I look forward to reading more books on the Smurfs!

Smurf enough if you want to smurf this smurf, but me, I don't like smurfing as much as I thought I did when I was still a little smurf.

3 stars.

Ohh the Smurfs! Love them. Full stop. I grew up with watching the Smurfs on tv and reading the books. I really enjoyed this cartoon so to read a Graphic Novel about them was great! My only issue is that I really didn't like how they all saw Smurfette in a romantic way. This is not the Smurfs I knew and loved. Smurfette was always just a friend to them all. She was apart of the group as an equal. She didn't live away from them, she was their friend only. So to see her this way in some of the short stories in this Graphic Novel wasnt a positive. I simply didn't like it. I get that others may have grown up with it being this way but I didnt. Otherwise. I absolutely loved the rest of this! If you are a Smurf fan, definitely check this out.
