I thought this was a really good Novella. In face Gideon and Sybill make such a good couple that I wished their story was longer! Well worth the read.

I enjoyed this story very much. I originally read it in an anthology and I enjoyed it then as well. A second chance at making love work after the groom to be disappears before the betrothal documents are signed then returns year later. Can love conquer all is the question. I love Sybil, she is strong willed and courageous. Gideon is determined, loving, and loyal. The characters are entertaining and fun. The story is filled with love, anger, regret and loyalty. One of my favorites by McKnight.

Gideon the Viscount of Galway disappeared a year ago. He had asked Lady Sybil Anson to marry him. All he had to do was sign the betrothal papers. She did not know where he was. She spent that year crying and thinking Gideon was possibly dead. He was a fugitive because he helped Charles get away from forced enlistment to the British Navy. So they were on the run and when they came home they were still wanted, men.
I felt light-hearted in places and sad in others. The plot had a couple of twists to it. But the author has done a great job of making a book that is well written, coherent, easy to read and you have a hard time putting it down. It was all of these things and just a joy to read. The characters were well developed and very life-like.

Many years ago, Gideon Lyndon, Viscount Galway, made a grave mistake. On the verge of rectifying this misdeed, he finds himself faced with his greatest challenge yet: winning back the woman he has loved since the moment he met her. However after disappearing for a year, convincing his headstrong paramour Sybil Anson to take him back will not be easy. Especially since he can’t even explain why he left not if he wants to keep her safe. Gideon & Sybil have always loved each other but even when he returns the path to heir HEA isn’t smooth. An easy to read page turning novella with good characters & a mystery to hold your interest & leaves you wanting more

My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

This was a well-written Regency novella. Lady Sybil Anson was about to become engaged to the love of her life, when he disappeared suddenly. Over a year later Gideon Lyndon reappears, asking Lady Sybil for another chance. I enjoyed this novella and look forward to reading more stories by this author.

I received this book from net galley and the publisher for an honest review. Thank you!!
This novella was a good and quick read. Lady Sybil Anson has scandal written in her name but that does not matter since she has found love with viscount Gideon Lyndon. However, when he disappears mysteriously, she is heart broken and does not know why he left. Gideon fell in love with Sybil and planned to sign the betrothal contracts, when his friend needed his help. Gideon blamed himself for his friend's past misfortune and knew he needed to help him. He needed to keep Sybil safe and that meant keeping her in the dark. When their eyes meet over a year later, the love is still there. Sybil wants to know why Gideon abandoned her and Gideon wants to rekindle their love, but cannot until the danger has passed. Can Gideon open himself to Sybil before he becomes engaged to another?

Lady Sybil Anson and Gideon Lyndon, Viscount Galway are in love and soon to be betrothed. The night before the contracts are to be signed, Sybil visits Gideon and they share a passionate kiss and whispers of their hopes an dreams. They are interrupted by a late night visitor for Gideon. He kisses her goodbye and tells her he will see her tomorrow. But he never shows.

A year later, Sybil is on the verge of becoming betrothed again. She loved Gideon, but hasn't heard from him since that night, save a cryptic note saying he would see her as soon as he could. She assumed he was dead, because nothing short of death would have kept them apart. But on the very night she is to accept the Duke of Garwood, Gideon returns to her. She wants answers before she will give him her heart again, but answers are the one thing Gideon cannot give her.

Will Gideon be able to win back the only woman he has ever loved, or will his secrets destroy any hope of a HEA?

Great story, loved Sybil and Gideon, no steam, secrets, angry brothers and bounty hunters and finally a very sweet HEA.
