Great thought provoking read. Creates the critical thinker in you and doesn't take everything at face value or using your own biases. Would recommend this to a friend to shift a mindset within.

I definitely align with the essence of this book. It’s about appreciating what you have and dismissing a scarcity mentality. It’s about not measuring your worth by what you can or can’t afford, or feeling less if you don’t have what others do. It’s about changing your mindset.

The Seven Laws outlined in the book are: Stories Matter, I am Enough, I Belong, No-One is Exempt, Resting Is Required, Joy is Available, Love is the Answer. The book looks to,”layout practices that help us orient, anchor and find ourselves living and expressing true sufficiency.” It speaks of learning through everyday practices.

It didn’t feel pioneering, the concepts didn’t feel new. Perhaps, because I am a follower of Stephen Covey (Eg: The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, etc.), Brene Brown (The Gifts of Imperfections, etc.) or it's my Christian beliefs, where I spend time in on a daily basis, (Proverbs 31 Ministries), I’m not sure. The content just didn’t really feel new to me. And then there are the practices outlined in the book. They felt burdensome, and I question whether the volume and depth of them would not hinder the very change the authors were looking to achieve. To me, it felt like there was a disparity between what I was reading (an invitation to a novice) and the practices (daily and deep). They felt quite overwhelming (there are pages of them) and I found myself rather browsing and speed reading to get through.

The description, “This book is an invitation to live in another story, the story of sustainable abundance. The ripples from making this shift are profound—it will change your relation to your loved ones, your work, and the planet. Essential for spiritual seekers, business leaders, and environmentalists alike, The 7 Laws of Enough points the way towards a new way of living and leading”

With thanks to Parallax Press, the authors and NetGalley for my free copy to review.

Just like the title, this book has seven chapters, each focusing on abundance.
We live in times where we suffer from what my hip sister calls "F.O.M.O" (Fear Of Missing Out). So we are all in a rush to look a certain way, talk a certain way, live a certain way and all for what? This book is inspirational and it's a wake up call to sit back, reflect on the stories we tell ourselves, know that we are enough, that we belong and yes, there's nothing wrong with resting! I loved reading about rest so much that it had me reschedule my work flow to ensure that I had plenty of this and I feel more refreshed and focused.
Thank you NetGalley for the eARC, this is a timely release in this social media influx world.
