Murder Girl is the second in the Lilah Love series by Lisa Renee Jones. It’s a suspenseful rollercoaster ride full of twists and turns in a plot that’s more thriller than the sexy romance we have all come to expect from the writer of the ‘Dirty Money’, Walker Brothers and Dirty Rich series’s to name but a few. Lisa is an exceptional author, she never fails to deliver with her stories and didn’t let me down here.
Lilah is even more driven, more tenacious than she was in Murder Girl while Kane is the devil in plain
The story continues where Murder Notes left off and we are dropped into the deep end right from the get go. Kane and Lilah are at odds, she committed to finding to the truth about her past, and Kane is equally determined to keep her from discovering things he doesn’t want her to know. She doesn’t want to lose him again, no matter what she tells herself. She knows they can’t be together but events keep putting them in the same space so she finds it harder and harder to keep her feelings to herself. Theirs is a forbidden kind of love. Dark, thrilling and deeply entangling.
The body count keeps rising, and as Lilah tries to figure out who Junior is she’s drawn all over the Hamptons on her drive to capture him or her. She enlists Kane help in part of this but he is adamant he accompany her, no going alone. It’s a hard road she travels with the connection her family has with the legal and political systems.
When Lilah finally gets a lead on the case, a copycat killing of one from before she left NY, takes place that forces her to face facts.
That the serial killer/ assassin is closer to her than she realized.
She doesn’t know who to trust except Kane. Always, Kane.
Her ex-boyfriend and FBI partner from LA, Rich, is supposed to be a good guy, but is he? His hatred and jealousy of Kane make him a liability to her and himself. Then, there’s Greg, her ex-partner for her days at NYPD, who’s now working a side job with Kane’s adversaries. Does he have something to hide?
Even her boss at the FBI comes under Lilah’s scrutiny as her mind leads her down the rabbit hole of suspicion.
Kane wants to keep Lilah safe from harm, even if it means lying to her, he may technically be a criminal, his father was head of the biggest cartel in the state after all, but he’s gone legit and wants to stay that way. He wants Lilah back in his life for good so when he gets a call from someone Lilah needs to talk to he agrees, but only with him by her side. And Lilah has to abide by his rules which means now shooting or arresting anyone, not even him.
Lilah gains some real insights into the case, ones that make it harder than ever to believe anything anyone says. Not even her father or brother.
But lives are on the line and Lilah has to make a choice, one that could cost her her family or maybe just her own life, and Kane’s too. And when all’s said and done, who will be left standing in the suspense filled ending to this story?
As I said, the romance takes second place to the story here but it doesn’t water down the chemistry between these two characters and when they get their moments they definitely make them count. They have a past, but do they have a future.
Only time will tell.
Because one thing is certain.
Lilah Love is NOT done, she has more tales to tell and more murders to solve.

Lilah Love is such an unique character. This series is so different from what everyone else writes. I love that she is so unapologetically in your face. She tries to joke but most people don’t find them funny. She struggles with the fact that dead bodies don’t bother her but ironically talking about her feelings does. I love Kane! He’s done bad things but there is so much more to him. Lisa Renee Jones has crafted a wonderful new series and I can’t wait to see where she takes us next! I received an advance review copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks Netgalley for a copy to read and review. I pretty much begged for this book since I read Murder Notes, so it's not like the title, blurb or cover had anything to do with it. Part two was a must have after an amazing part one.

Special Agent Lilah Love is an amazing character. After the first part, I didn't think the chemistry between her and Kane Mendez could get any hotter but this book took nuclear to a whole new level. So many amazing quotes from this book..... I think I highlighted half my book. I do say though if you loved book one, take time to highlight it because this series isn't going to end here. Which in my book is five stars of amazing! Make a timeline because I'm pretty sure we will be seeing most of these characters again. In this part Lilah is coming closer to the truth and everything is getting more serious. It feels like her back is against the wall and she is left with the only person she can trust...the only person that truly knows her....Kane. He is such an enigma character. I think I'm more melancholy because I'm finished with the book, and I want more. That's what makes books like this one so great, that feeling when you finish and just want more. Five stars of entertainment! Damn fine job!

Agent Lilah Love is back and still at the beginning any closer to finding out who set up Woods and why they are wanting Kane Mendez to take the fall and more importantly who is killing everyone? Murder Girl starts with Old Man Romano tied up in Kane's basement and then learning he doesn't know much either. I have to admit; I wasn't 100% keen on this particular book as It seemed to jump all over the place and was hard to concentrate and find out what was happening, as it looks like Lilah can't trust anyone not even her blood as she is about to discover that what she has been busy uncovering goes way past her rape and all the way to her mother's and Lucas's father's deaths. We also see that Lilah is continuing to receive notes from whom she calls Junior and at the end of this book, the notes still keep on coming. It looks like we know what will be Lilah's mission in the third novel which since this gets released in July, I will have to wait for until next year. I normally really love murder mysteries, but this particular one fell flat for me. I will, however, read the next one in the series as I have a few unanswered questions that I am hoping Lisa will answer for us with the third Lilah Love book. Murder Girl brings us more Murders, Questions and the introduction to a secret society operating in today's society and one that goes deeper than anyone could ever imagine. Who can you trust when you don't know how deep the society runs? Find out in Book #2 of Agent Lilah Love series by Lisa Renee Jones. Coming to an e-reader near you in July 2018.

I absolutely loved this book. I feel that you must read book one first. The suspense and mystery in the book is off the charts. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to find out what was going to happen next. I loved it.

Lilah loves being an FBI profiler and her newest case is nothing if not challenging. A series of murders connected by tattoos on the victim leads Lilah all the way back to her own hometown. But she’s completely unaware that the killer is just as interested in her as she is in him and he’s closing in on her fast. An exciting read with a spunky heroine

I am freaking OBSESSED with Lilah F*@&ing Love! She makes you literally question everyone's motives! The friend, the brother, the ex-partner, the medical examiner, her boss? Every single person could be shady and untrustworthy. Her mind amazes me.

I am so wrapped up in this story and this mystery. It's one of those books that doesn't even give you half a puzzle piece before scattering the board again. And along with the chaos and suspense, is a forbidden love story. Lilah can't be with Kane because they are on opposite sides of the line. But there are two parts of her and he sees them more clearly than anyone.

So, by the end of Murder Girl, you have one dilemna wrapped up, and a new one set up for the next book. I'm telling you right now, this is a can't miss series. Not a stand alone, go back and read book one first. Oh and I appreciated the recap from book one at the beginning of this, very helpful.

Lilah Love is back and is determined to find the answers that continue to allude her. From the very first page I was hooked. Desperate to find the answers that plaqued my mind as a reader and trying to find out what happened. The energy she and Kane have threatened to consume them both anytime they are near each other. This series suspense is off the charts!
