Murder Girl starts off exactly where Murder Notes ended and Lisa gives a quick review of what happened in Murder Notes just to bring us quickly up to speed in case anything was forgotten.

What I love about this series is the suspense and mystery of things and Lilah (I really want inside her head!). Without giving much away in lines of the plot, I will try to be brief which will most likely keep this review very vague in terms of what to expect.

There are some characters in this book that add to the suspense of everything playing out but the biggest one is obviously Kane. Kane is the only one Lilah feels she can trust but I felt their interactions had a lot of build up in the romance portion with a huge letdown. As I said, my biggest love for this book is the suspense, so I am not looking for a lot of romance. But when you keep hinting at, I am expecting something at some point.

Overall, Lisa delivers another amazing novel in this series. She answers some things, but still leaves us with more unanswered questions. I am curious to see where Lisa takes this now that we've been introduced to a secret society.....

While it was interesting at the beginning, there were more questions than answers and I kind of lost interest, skipping pages.

Don't know if I'll be reading the next one, since it took some turns that were meh for me.

I voluntarily agreed to read an early copy through Netgalley and my rating is 3 stars.

3 Agent Love Stars
I was intrigued with book 1 and so I had to continue. This books focus is on connecting dots. Lilah is burning every bridge in sight and it makes me question who she is and if she is an effective FBI profiler after all. The book is unnecessarily long because I just don’t feel I need to know every meal she never eats and the building of a relationship that doesn’t feel complete. I think the story would have been enhanced if she wasn’t an FBI agent because her attitude and responses were not FBI worthy. I thought this series was a 2 book series but now I can see this book going on for a few more books at this pace. This second book will leave you with way more questions than answers so keep that in mind~

I have to start by saying if you haven’t read the first book, stop here and go read it first! These are not stand-alone books and I really don’t want to spoil anything! Lisa Renee Jones jumps right back into Lilah Love’s story and the mystery. I do appreciate the recap that she gives at the beginning of the book, there are so many characters in play and so much going on, it was a good to have the reminder.

These books suck me in to the world that Lilah Love lives in, although it’s not a very nice one and it’s definitely hard to tell who I like and who I don’t most of the time. I felt hot and cold with so many of these characters, second guessing them just as Lilah does. Now, she definitely gets some answers in this book, but there are now even more questions. Kane’s role changes a bit from the previous book and we see what these two really do mean to each other. I also think we see Lilah coming to terms with who she is and who she wants to be. I really don’t want to give much away, because it is quite the journey!

This book has a good pace and a story line that kept me reading, just needing to know what was going to happen next. I’m intrigued and invested and while I thought I’d get more answers in the second book, I have a lot more questions and I’m looking forward to seeing where this series will go next! Another great, thrilling read from Lisa Renee Jones, filled with suspense, heat and twists!

Secrets, Deception, Oh how Lila Love's world keeps spinning out of control. I was so ready for Murder Girl, especially since Murder Notes left me with so many questions.

When Murder Girl takes off, you are given a summary from book one to catch you up. I loved that Lisa gave me a recap from the first book so when I dove into book two, I wouldn't feel like I was forgetting something.

Murder Girl throws you back into Lila's predicament at the end of book one. She must ultimately choose between her job and the man who owns her heart in so many ways. I loved how Lila and Kane grew in this book. Those two are mesmerizing together and you feel their connection and just want them to succumb to it. Not only is Lila dealing with her ex, but they must face a killer together. All of the secrets from the first book come to light in this one and you are going to be blown away. I was absolutely speechless as everything came together and Lila learned the truth. So brace yourself for a hectic roller-coaster of some crazy reveals that go deeper than Lila expected.

If you enjoy mystery, a love the characters can't escape, and a little bit of darkness thrown in the mix, you're going to love Murder Girl by Lisa Renee Jones. I can't wait for more of this series.
I give Murder Girl by Lisa Renee Jones 4 out of 5 SUSPENSEFUL STARS!

Murder Girl is book 2 in the Lilah Love Series. Something that Lisa Renee Jones does that I wish all authors would do is create a recap of the previous book. She also does a glossary of her character’s so you can refer back to. I think this is so useful especially for complicated series but, also if there has been any time between books. It just helps to remind you of the previous book and gets you ready for the one you are about to read. So, THANK YOU for the recap Lisa Renee Jones! You have done this for other books that I have read by you.

Book 2 starts out where Book 1 Murder Notes ended. Kane and Lilah are standing in Kane’s garage with Lilah pointing a gun at Kane and the patriarch to the Romano family is tied to a chair. That’s all you will get from me. It is a very good book and I am loving this new series by Lisa Renee Jones! If you love romantic mysteries/suspense you should read this series but, you do need to start with Murder Notes so you will know what is going on. I loved the story. I can’t wait for the next book to come out. 5 Stars

Lilah Love promised herself that she'd get to the bottom of things. That she'd set things straight, once of for all. What she never counted upon was someone else being one step ahead of her. It doesn't help that Kane is intent on making her his by any means necessary. When things take another unexpected turn, she soon realizes just how far over her head she is.

From the moment I opened the book, I knew this was another one I wouldn't be able to put down. Murder Girl picks up where book one leaves off, plunging us into the deepest, darkest reaches of Lilah's world. Lisa honestly has such a way with words that you find yourself imagining every corner, color, aspect, and environment the characters find themselves in.

I love the fact that this series isn't her usual trope. It's romance, yes, but it's not the focus of the story. Lilah Love is about a woman who's hell-bent on redeeming herself. She's broken and tainted, often full of a pain and heartache she sometimes fears she'll never rid herself of. The secrets of her past are coming to the light. Secrets she fears will destroy her and those she loves.

Lisa has taken the above and shaped them in such a way that you're rooting for Lilah every step of the way. Yes, she sometimes has to get her hands dirty, but she always gets the job done. The fact that things—and not all of them are good, mind you—keep happening around her isn't lost on Lilah. She's resilient and far too determined to ignore the little things.

I hope someday she'll get her happily ever day. She honestly deserves it. In the meantime, I can't wait to see what book three has in store for us all.

Murder Girl starts off where the previous book left us, right in the middle of an intense investigation with Lilah Love. This book takes us deeper into the secrets surrounding Lilah's family and leaves you on the edge of your seat all the way through. Even the ending, which wasn't a full on cliffhanger, will have you dying for more.

The suspense is what I loved from the previous story and also what I enjoyed most from this one. I'm a big mystery fan so when a book can leave me guessing the entire time I instantly fall in love. With this book though I think I just couldn't stop comparing it to Murder Notes and I found it lacking when I did so. This series started off so well that I went into this book expecting something extra special and it just didn't deliver for me. The suspense was still well written and captivating yet there were moments that everything seemed to drag and it became a little boring.

I know the book wasn't a romance so I didn't go into it looking for a romantic aspect, but the fact that Kane was involved and his relationship with Lilah was brought up so many times made me start looking for one. I'm a true romance lover so I latched on to those moments and wanted more answers to what was going on between Kane and Lilah, so then when we didn't get more I was disappointed.

I think this story was amazingly well written for a suspense and it's one I will definitely recommend. The 3 Stars rating and complaining in my review was just for my own reasons of not enjoying this book as much as the previous one and didn't have anything to do with the writing.

After reading Murder Notes I was impatiently waiting for the Murder Girl and the book more than met my expectations. I couldn't put it down as new revelations kept coming and I simply wanted to know what's next. The plot and action will keep you on your toes the entire time. The push-pull between Lilah and Kane add a bit romance to the whole story. To sum up the story is captivating and intense and definitely a very good book.
I like that there is open ending to Murder Girl so that we can expect the next installment in the series. I can't wait to read it and I hope it will be available some time this year.

Holy Cow!!!! Just hot as heck and riveting as hell! I still can't even get a rational thought out!!! Another stellar 5 star you need in your life!

4.5 stars!

Murder Girl sends us back into Lilah Love’s world and right in the thick of things. Lilah has her work cut out for her with the unsolved cases. The murders are connected but she doesn’t know how or why. There are so many suspects yet nothing is concrete except for the dead bodies. And they keep piling up. Add new players to the game, some allies and others enemies, and

Though it starts out on the slower side, once the pace picked up I could not put this engrossing and entertaining story down. It’s exciting, intense, and consuming, and loved it.

Lilah is an interesting character. She is smart, witty, and doesn’t take no for an answer. She knows when to charge ahead and when to back down even if she doesn’t like to. She works her cases differently than others making her an excellent agent and I loved getting into her head. She doesn’t make excuses for the way her mind works or how she looks at a crime scene and I loved her confidence and determination to reveal the truth.

"My enemy is still out there, with me and Kane in their sights, which mean we had better get him, or her, or them, in view now, before someone else ends up dead."

Even though Lilah doesn’t want to admit it she sometimes needs help and Kane is the guy she must turn to. Kane wants Lilah and no matter how much she wants to leave him for good she finds herself back to where they began.

"Kane is right. We are in this together. And anyone show thinks that’s good for them and not us is going to find out they’re wrong."

Lilah and Kane share a connection that time nor space could sever and it drives Lilah batty. They can’t deny their feelings and there is an intensity that surrounds them whenever they are in the same room. They are explosive when they allow themselves a taste of the past and it left me wanting more of the steam they create. I can’t wait to see their relationship develop further as we get more of Lilah Love.

“Lilah –”
“Whatever you’re going to say, don’t. I get it. I’m in your world tonight, not mine.”
“My world is your world.”

This book is full of mystery and suspense, and it kept me on my toes. I didn’t want to miss a thing and I found myself rereading sections to see if I could find clues that would give me insight to what was happening.

Crushing betrayals, shocking twists, and new characters change everything. The stakes in the game go up and more lives are threatened, including Lilah’s. Just when a major move is revealed, another secret takes its place. For every answer we get even more questions are asked, leaving us mystified and desperate for the truth. Though it doesn’t end with a cliffhanger per se it definitely leaves it open for a lot more suspense, mystery, action, and romance, and I cant wait to see what happens next.

WOW, WOW , WOW. This book was just an endless rollercoaster ride that has only now stopped to take a breather before the next leg and I must say I think I needed the breather but I need the next book like now.

Lisa Renee Jones has truly become a one click author for me. How do I know that, well these type of mystery murder romances are so not my normal read nor are they a read I enjoy but somehow she has sucked me in, made me fall in love with bad boy Kane Mendez, and I never fall for the bad boy, especially the criminal murdering type but man I am in love with Kane. I also have to add that I love this author because whether it's been two days, two weeks, two months or two years since I read the previous book, I never have to worry about spending the first 20% of the book remembering what happened in the prior book and where we left off, Lisa not only gives us a break down of all the characters and the roles they play in the story, she also summarizes what has happened up to now, fulling engulfing me back into the story. I love that she takes the time to do this recap every series she writes and for that reason alone she is now a permanent once click author but the fact that her writing is just so amazing, she will never not be a one click author.

Murder Girl picks up right where we left off in Murder Notes. Lilah Love, FBI agent and profiler, is back home in the Hamptons trying to solve several linked murders but also murders that has a link to a horrific event in her past, an event that will always keep her connected to Kane Medez, resident bad boy and cartel.. But as we get into this story, the plot thickens even more and we see the person / people behind her attack and these murders are much bigger than her and Kane and she must figure out who she can trust and who are dirty.

Like in Murder Notes, I absolutely loved Lilah in Murder Girl. She's a no nonsense kind of kick ass girl who doesn't take crap from anyone. She sassy and she's a woman you don't want to challenge, she will chew you up and spit you out in 5 seconds flat. But the thing I love most about her is the relationship she shares with Kane, these two seem like oil and vinegar and they have this love/ hate relationship, she has more of the hate, he is more of the love, but they are perfect together. They get each other, they are honest and straight up and they have each other's back, they are completely in sync and I love this dynamic the author built between them. It definitely makes the hot scenes between them so much hotter.

Kane is truly your bad boy, but his is a loyal bad boy and Lilah may have his heart, and she always will, he will always have her back and he will do anything in his power to keep her safe. I normally don't love the bad boys, but I must say I love Kane. He is so passionate when it comes to Lilah but he also respects her and her badge. They truly equal each other out.

This book I must say has left me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. There was so much more info and event happening in this storyline, which threw so much more mystery into the mix and I must say, didn't know how this one was going to play out but I loved every minute of it, I couldn't put it down. And I must say, I am left wondering and trying to theorize how the continuation of this story is going to play out. Kane and Lilah have a lot of head of them and they have some powerful people working against them, but I truly feel these two together will come out on top

I must say overall this was such a fabulous read and has truly left me with a serious book hangover. This was such an amazing ride and I truly can't wait to get back on, hope it's not too long before we have news on book #3 in the Lilah Series. Hands Down 5 "F is for Fabulous" Stars

I'm gonna stop you right here and say that if you haven't read Murder Notes, the first book in this series, go back and read that one first. Otherwise, you'll find yourself stepping into the middle of a well established narrative with no idea what's going on or who the players are.

I've recently been reading quite a bit of crime fiction centred around female protagonists (Kendra Elliott’s Mercy Kilpatrick and Loreth Anne White’s Angie Pallorino being notable examples) and picked this up for review assuming it was in the same vein: a book in a series about the same protagonist which should nonetheless stand on its own. This, however, is more what I'd call serialized fiction. There isn't a complete narrative arc in a single book: you have to read the whole series to get any one part of the story resolved.

And I'm going to have to say I don't particularly care for it. Comparing to TV series, those other books are like episodes of Law and Order: it really doesn't matter too much what order you're watching in. This? Is like starting Game of Thrones at the Red Wedding. There's a lot of action and it's all very exciting, but you won't have a clue what's going on. Or who the ‘good' and ‘bad' guys are.

Talking of the characters, Lilah Love is an incredibly broken character to have as an FBI profiler. With bodies literally buried in her wake and an ex/current boyfriend who may or may not be head of a cartel, I honestly can't see her passing Quantico’s background checks, let alone being allowed to investigate a case where a body was found on said ex’s property.

I was actually more intrigued by Kane Mendez than by Lilah, who came off very self centred. Kane, on the other hand, was clearly putting her best interests above his own regularly, and I found myself fascinated as to why.

The problem, of course, is that we don't find out. This is the second episode in this serialized story, so there isn't any real resolution. Just more questions and setup for the next installment.

I'm sure it would make great television, possibly along the lines of Jessica Jones with a narrative arc over a dozen episodes or so, but as reading material, it just doesn't work for me.

I'm giving it three stars for being interesting and well written, but it really want my cup of tea, and you should consider whether you like episodic fiction or not before choosing to read.

New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones returns with the second book in her electrifying series featuring Lilah Love, an FBI profiler who doesn’t fight her dark side—she embraces it.

It’s Lilah Love’s job to inhabit a killer’s mind. The unapologetically tough FBI profiler is very comfortable there. But her latest case is making her head spin. It’s a string of brutal assassinations carried out across the country, each tied to a mysterious tattoo. Body by body, she’s followed the clues all the way back to her hometown. And every step of the way, the killer has been following her.

Here, beneath the glamour of the privileged Hamptons community, is a secret long buried but never forgotten. It’s bigger than Lilah. It’s powerful enough to escape the reach of the FBI. And it’s more personal than anyone can imagine. Because it’s hiding in Lilah’s own past. To fight it, she’s forced to turn to her lethally tempting ex, Kane Mendez. He’s an expert at bringing out Lilah’s darkest impulses. If she plans to survive, she’s going to need them.

Review:

Another exciting installment in this series.

This book starts off where the last book ends. This series is the case where you need to read the books in order because they feed into each other. There is still tons of secrets and mysteries happening in this book, though some are answered by the end, but some are still out there. The ending is a nice wrap-up, but leaves it open ended enough for future stories. The chemistry between Lilah and Kane is undeniable, but the will they, won't they get together was getting a little old to me. They just need to go for and screw everyone and everything else.

Overall, very mysterious and suspenseful with a little romance thrown in.

4Stars

I’ll say one this is certain...Lisa Renee Jones is a master at mystery and suspense. Murder Girl was gripping from the start and beyond.

Following FBI profiler, Lilah Love, this story picks up where book 1, Murder Notes, left off. Lilah is back in her hometown searching for a serial killer and no one is free of suspicion; except the man she’s loved for years who’s well known as having ties to a cartel.

Together they follow the clues to track down the killer and try to fit the puzzle pieces that seem to be pointing to her and the secret she shares with Kane as well as the big bass behind it all.

From beginning to end this book had me at the edge of my seat and kept me guessing. So many potent suspects, so many unanswered questions. The entire story is an addictive guessing game.

I’m SO looking forward to MORE Lilah Love mysteries.

A suspenseful and intriguing story. An FBI profiler who takes the pieces of murder cases and tries to relate to her past experiences. How does it fit and connect?Absolutely loving this series. Lisa Renee Jones has a writing style that I love and none of her books have disappointed me. This is the second book in the series and I highly recommend reading book one first. Fair warning though....you will definitely be kept up all night not wanting to put the book down.

Oh my goodness! This book picks up right where Murder Notes left off. As I read, I felt myself getting more and more anxious, wanting to know all the 'W' questions. When More dead bodies keep showing up, and one is suspected to be a suicide, what do we learn? When the NYC FBI office tries to set the groundwork for jurisdiction, what happens? I could not stop grinning about that. Who and/or what is the Society? What do we learn about the Society? I was floored! Hoooooboy! Things get even more interesting in this book. I cannot wait for the next book in this series! I want to keep reading!

I was hooked from the first time I’ve met Lilah Love, this FBI agent with a troubled past, who was better with dead bodies than living people.

I won’t reveal much about the turning events but it was time for the wild and untamed FBI agent to compromise and learn that the world isn’t just black and white. Sometimes you have to meet people halfway.

In this investigation where bodies seemed to pile up whenever she was close to find new hints, Lilah Love was more and more embracing the dark side and no one was innocent, anyone had something to hide. A headstrong woman who was more determined to solve all the case and as well understanding that there was a bigger picture, something more menacing than a murderer. The pressure is on.

Complicated relationships were her thing, from her relatives to her past partners and to her one and only love, she never took the easy way. Once again I was captivated. I hope it won’t be the last time I hear about Lilah f****** Love! Can’t wait for more.
