"Lies" is an exciting psychological thriller.
Joe`s helplessness was almost tangible between the pages and a real nightmare for anyone using Facebook and the modern media.
Until the end, one puzzles and then ... wow ... absolutely unpredictable end.

This was a super entertaining take on the whole bait-and-switch thing that’s enfolded the psychological thriller genre for a while now, for what’s its worth, I couldn’t put this book down. I liked this one! The plot moved along at a good pace and the mystery kept me wanting to know more. The twists and turns kept it suspenseful and I liked the main character, Joe, and wanted to know he was okay. I was surprised at the ending, but thought the story was wrapped up very well. I look forward to reading others by this author.

I found this book hard to get into. I just didn't really find it that interesting. I give it a 2 star rating.

Joe Lynch is in the car taking his young son home when his son William spots his mother’s car in a hotel parking lot. They decide to surprise her and go to see her. Won’t that be a nice surprise for his wife Mel?
They find her in the restaurant talking to a man that Joe knows. It is Ben Delaney who was married to one of Mel’s friends. They looked angry and argumentative. They retreat to the car to wait for Mel.
Mel doesn’t see Joe as she races out of the parking lot. Ben comes out of the elevator, verbally abuses Joe and they scuffle a little. Ben falls over and hits his head unconscious. William is watching, sees blood and has an asthma attack.

When he tries to talk about seeing Mel at the hotel, she lies to him and says she was playing tennis; the first lie. He lost his phone and his leather bracelet at the parking lot. His Facebook account shows a picture of his bracelet and a pool of blood and several comments. Obviously Ben has gotten a hold of both items. Joe’s world is in trouble. Things begin to get much worse for Joe.

Okay, I have to comment on Joe’s personality. While I admire his desire to spend as much time with William as he does and I applaud his devotion to the child, I could hardly stomach his wimpy personality. I wanted to yell at my Kindle, “Grow a pair, you dumkopf!” I could hardly finish the book for his annoying personality kept getting in the way.

I didn’t care for any of the characters in the book, except William. Mel was a lying little …ummm. Ben was childish and vindictive beyond measure and so on.

The book is written in the first person narrative style. It is well written, plotted and relatively easy to read and follow. I just didn’t care for it. Not my cup of tea, as some would say.

I was hooked right from the start! This book is fast-paced, suspenseful, and full of twists and turns that I never saw coming. The perfect summer read!

Joe is a gentle man who loves his wife, Mel, and his son, William, above all things. He is heartbroken when he discovers Mel's infidelity with Ben. Everything gets worse when Ben disappears and the police believe Joe killed him even though they cannot find the body. Will Joe be able to find Ben? Can Joe ever trust Mel again? What else has she lied about?

Readers will be rapidly turning the pages on this thriller - it is impossible to put down. Social media is a large part of the whole story with Joe always seeming to end up the injured party. How can he prove his innocence when everything that happens just makes him look more guilty?

All the characters play their parts to perfection. Many twists and turns with a stunning surprising ending.

I really wanted to like this book - it has all the qualities that I usually look for. But it missed the mark for me. She was so eager to lie, he was so eager to believe. But from there the action just seemed super cranked up compared to what he was trying to uncover. Which ... since I did receive this copy free from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review ... I honestly must confess I read the first 20% and skipped to the last chapter. I didn't feel like I missed anything and felt a little relieved at not being drug through it all.

Bummer.

This was an enjoyable read from this first book author. It did not involve a lot of suspense but for some reason kept my page turning. I book I would recommend to others.

Well, I can say that this book is aptly titled. It is truly all about lies, beginning with the obvious lie told to protagonist, Joe Lynch, by his wife, Mel, after he spots her in a hotel lobby meeting with a man they both know as a family friend. And it all goes downhill from there. Unfortunately, author T.M. Logan lost me right off the bat with the character of Joe. This man is the most obtuse, naïve, wimpy man on the planet, and I just couldn't buy into the premise that anyone with a brain would be so gullible, no matter how in love he might be. Adding to that, Joe is pursued throughout the novel by the police in the most ridiculous, unbelievable way. It was just way too over the top for me. I will say that the twist at the end surprised me, but by then I just didn't care.

Joe Lynch sees his wife meeting a man at a local hotel. He tries to intercept her to learn what is going on but fears it is the worst. He and the man (Joe’s wife’s best friend’s husband) and they have a brief altercation in which the man ends up unconscious on the ground. Joe has to leave because his young son is having an asthma attack. He goes home to get Will’s meds and then returns to the hotel garage, but learns the man and his car are gone. This starts the novel. It is composed of lies and more lies and Joe’s attempts to learn the truth. It culminates in a climax very few will expect. It was captivating reading. Good suspense, and misdirection. It was a good book which I read in one sitting, I was hooked and had to know the ending.

I thought this book was too slow and drawn out. The first half the main character just kept running around and getting nowhere. It picked up a little and got interesting. Then the end came out of he blue, it just didn't seem to have any connection to the story. A large part of this novel seemed lake a criticism of social media and its evils.

In Lies, multiple characters are involved in the case regarding Ben missing. Ben’s character was last seen by Joe who had an altercation with him. His wife heard him come home, but didn’t see him. Much speculation takes place about Ben’s whereabouts.

The story began with an mysterious edgy suspense that quickly fizzled with some rather questionable actions. The story doesn’t have a steady flow of suspense. Instead it’s a slow building story about Ben’s mysterious disappearance. It’s more about character building trying to decipher which of these characters is lying. Many characters credibility comes into play as police outline the events.

Lies is told from Joe’s point of view. His character is a school teacher. His main priority is taking care of his son, William. His wife has an active social life and tends to focus on social media and her friends more than her husband. She’s a very independent woman who enjoys having her own time for hobbies. She’s an ambitious character full of drive and direction. Unlike her husband, Joe who felt secure and stable raising his son and being a family man.

I thought with the altercation between Joe and Ben this story was headed in a completely different direction. Then everything changed when the lies unfolded. This wasn’t what I presumed Lies to be about. It was good, but it had the potential to be amazing.

Was this a thrilling book? Not necessarily. The first chapter had the potential of being thrilling, but then the storyline altered. Was this a psychological book? Not necessarily. I thought it was cut and dry. Was this suspenseful? Again I only found it suspenseful from the beginning. I can’t get over how lengthy this book is. It really wasn’t necessary to drag out this whole song and dance. This wasn’t a steady thriller or suspense, but overall some scenes had some thrilling and suspenseful moments.

The problems with books about lies is they are driven by those lies. It’s an information dump used to distract from the truth. Characters get introduced for the sole purpose of creating more lies and more distractions. On the other hand, when lies become truths then it gets exciting. I loved the unveiling of the lies.

I've read enough psychological thrillers that I should have been able to figure this one out. But I didn't! So, there's this guy driving his young son home from school and they see their wife/mom and follow her. That's where we go down the road of what really happened. What really is the truth. Do we see what we want to see and block out everything else?
Joe, the main character is a little, okay, a lot, soft in the backbone and is pretty easy to manipulate. Boy, did someone do a number on him. Reading this book was kind of like watching a trainwreck. You know that nothing good will come out of it, but you can't stop reading. Perfect for summer/beach reading!

From the first, the book was very fast-paced and very compelling as the story unfolds and unravels. Fast and easy reading. This would be a good weekend read. Recommended!

Good a thriller to keep me on my toes.. What would you do if the life you were currently living turns out it is not really your life, its nothing but lies..Yeah what a bomb..His wife isn't who he thought. Friends anything and everything is falling apart, but who do you trust of go to..A read you should definitely add to your list.. Enjoy!

Lies, Lies, Lies, we have all told them and we have all believed them. Joe is in a race against time to find the answers and the truths he needs. I love books with twist after twist and this one didn’t disappoint in that area! It’s a stay up late read that you don’t want to put down into you have the answers that you are asking!

Did not expect this ending at all! I have never read a book sooo fast. Must read for 2018!

At first I liked this book and wondered who was telling the truth. Ben was a truly unlikable character, Joe the nice guy, Mel the good wife, but are they really? I liked the trying to figure it out until I realized I was just annoyed at how stupid Joe was being, how Mel was lying, how Ben was a bully. Lots of stupid mistakes by several just left me wanting to get to the end and see how it ended.
