This one was just O.K. for me. Cade and Gia's story did not grab me. It was the plot and the execution that just did not come together well.

Businessman Cade King has fallen for the wrong woman. She's the daughter of a hitman, and he's the target. After ten years of living in the shadow of the Irish mob, Gia Callaghan wants nothing more than to escape the darkness of her life. Her burning desire for answers about her past has her constantly plotting new ways to flee. When she comes face-to-face with the one man who might be able to help her, she'll have to decide exactly how much his life is worth.
This was a pretty good story from start to finish. I really liked both main characters. The plot had me from page 1 and I didn’t want to stop until I was done. I recommend.

An interesting book that is full of excite and fast paced from the beginning. This story has love, suspense, action, and a little of hope. Gia is looking for a way out of the situation she is in at the moment. A daughter of a hitman she is now stuck with a man who runs the Irish mob, and she is looking for a way out before maybe he does something to her like marriage. She is able to get a note to Cade Callaghan who at the moment does not know who she is. She wants out of the club and away from there and safe. He decides to help her and from there the book takes off for quite a few twist and turns. The author keeps you going as they run form one person to the next while he still does not know who she really is. Getting deeper into the story you find out more of their pasts and how this actually will help in the end. A very good story and I liked how the author would keep you guessing from one page to the next. Very much worth the read.

Cade was drawn to Gia like a moth to a flame. He knew he had seen her before but he couldn’t remember when. He would keep her safe no matter how much it put his life in peril. He made a promise to himself that he would rectify the problems of his past and become a different man than his father. Escaping danger lines are crossed and they both finally succumb to the need that consumes them. Explosive chemistry and characters that will pull you into the tangled web of their lives as they try to keep each other safe.

This was an enjoyable mob read. You kinda had to suspend reality to really enjoy it but it was still a good book.

I received an arc from Netgalley. Not one of my favorite reads. Cade and Gia’s story was just not for me and not my taste. While I think the author is great I just couldn’t get into this one.

Cade is trying to make up for past bad choices. He is in love with Gia the daughter of a hit man. This book has plenty of action, suspense and twists. A really wonderful read.

I received an arc via Netgalley and am leaving a review.

This read was so-so for me. It had an interested no premise and the characters had great chemistry, but I found myself skimming many parts. I also found some parts that were a little too unbelievable for me. I can suspend belief a little, but some characters did things that I would not attribute to them. All in all ,not a bad read, but I didn't like it as much as I'd hoped.

Suspense, intrigue, love -- all great qualifiers for a book, but I found it to easy to put down and come back to later. I really enjoyed the action of the story and the characters. It just didn't grab me as much as I would have liked.

This plot is similar to other books I read but its still an overall great book. Its a tad long for my liking but it still keeps you entertained with all the suspense that goes on in this book. I just wished we had Rory point of view to see how he felt.

Nice read with very little angst. This is the story of Gia and Cade. Gia is a girl stuck in the Irish Mafia with seemingly no where to run. Until she meets Cade. And believe me, I would have run to him too. With Cade's connections, money, and cocky confidence, she may just have a chance. She has one hope in getting away and that is to find her mom. Gia's problem is putting all her trust in Cade and also putting him in danger.

I enjoyed the book and the secondary characters. Would love to learn more about Corbin, Cade's reckless, streetcar racing brother.

I recommend this to mafia story lovers, but with very little descriptive torture or violence. It was actually done very well in that regard.

I really enjoyed this book. Cade and Mya had a steamy relationship and I love stories that are mafia related. I hope there will additional books in this series. I would love to read one about Owen. Would definitely recommend this book.

Cade is a wealthy businessman who meets Gia in a strip club owned by the Irish Mob. He can’t resist her even after he finds out her father is the Irish Mob’s hitman. Gia just wants out of the prison her father and the mob have had her in for the past 10 years, so she can find her mother. Because Cade wants to protect Gia, they leave the US ... but they have different agendas and they will take along on their adventure.

This is an action packed romance that will keep you guessing until the end. The story will take twists and turns that you just weren’t expecting. Even though I didn’t read the first book in the series, I had no trouble figuring out who was who as the author did a great job of introducing the characters.

I received an ARC courtesy if EmKo Media through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

This story was alright.... the story line was nothing new and didn’t hold my attention. I found myself skipping to the end just to hurry it up.

I'll be honest, I'm 100% a sucker for anything mob related. There is a certain amount of mystery and intrigue that goes into this genre and Brittney Sahin doesn't disappoint. When we first meet Gia, we know that there are a lot of things wrong with her life. It's not until later in the book we realize how wrong things are with her life and how precarious her situation really is. She was born into the Irish mob - her father is one of their hit men. Her mother has disappeared and Gia is on the hunt to find her.

Enter Cade, we know right off the bat that he's going to be Gia's knight in shining armor. While he's quite a bit older than Gia, I didn't notice the age difference at all because Gia has been through so much that her character is more mature than someone in their 20's.

Through the suspense and drama, they seem to find a common ground and start to fall in love. Their love is a little rough around the edges at first but their situation isn't exactly normal either (being on the run isn't exactly normal). The secondary characters are well written enough for you to either love them or completely dislike them. I always feel like this is a good things because I always want to have feelings one way or another for all of the characters.

All in all this book was a good read. I felt like I had a few unanswered questions but not so many that I felt like I missed too much. I enjoyed the plot and definitely loved that this book - while being a love story - also had other elements to make it more interesting.

I’m a sucker for a good mob book. This one was pretty good. There was quite a bit of suspense in it, very cloak and dagger towards the end. The beginning had me a little confused especially with Cade. It wasn’t clear what he did and it was just like oh hey, I’m going to insert myself in all this mob biz because Gia is sexy. Huh? That part was weird but other than that, it was a solid story.

4.25 Stars

Cade & Gia.
She's the daughter of a hitman and he's a millionaire business man who first meets her in a strip club.
But she's not a stripper - she 'belongs' to the club-owner & irish mob boss Rory.
Cade is extremely attracted to Gia and does everything in his power to help her ...

But of course Rory is not letting her go without a fight.
But Cade and the ex Navy SEALs he hires can fight back ...

Gia and Cade already met 8 years before ... just for a second ... He couldn't save her then, but he will do it now - even if it's the last thing he'll ever do.... But of course mobster Rory is not the only problem those two have to face!

Well, that was an adorable and exciting romantic suspense story.
I already liked Cade in his sisters' book and now here he is with his own story.

I don't know if I was in a weird mood or too tired, but the beginning - the first page and the first chapter - wasn't my thing. It didn't flow at all. The sentences were too complicated to catch my attention. And that's what a book should do ... catch your interest with the first word/line/page/chapter ... but it got a lot better ... the beginning just didn't have enough flow for my reading tastes. ☺

The story was really interesting. I liked Cade a lot and it was all very exciting and insta and sexy and sad and moving and I really enjoyed reading it once I got into the story.

Great Romantic Suspense!

And now I really want to read Corbin's book!
