The Soldier's Redemption is a story of just that - a soldier's redemption. A place where soldiers could go for peace - where animals go to the ranch for healing by vets - it is a place of refuge. This is Blessed by GOD - shouldn't it be? They are doing GOD's work. Kayla has gone through some horrific things and has gone to Finn's ranch for a job - Finn is surprised - will he give her a job? Even after their past? Will Kayla be safe? Will Kayla find the Peace that the ranch has to offer?

Redemption Ranch has fallen on hard times, the owner's husband absconded with all the money. Redemption Ranch offers a refuge for returning veterans and animals alike, and together the animals and the veterans find hope. Finn Gallagher is the head dog trainer, still blaming himself for the death of his estranged wife.

Kayla White and her son, Leo, are running from the past, and are ready to begin again. Finn reluctantly hires Kayla, she is happy to have found a place to rest, and Leo loves being around the dogs.

Can Kayla and Leo escape their past and find a new beginning?

Kayla and Leo bond with the dogs and the rough veterans at the ranch. Kayla is afraid to trust the veterans too much, because her husband was ex-military and military men tend to stick together. Finn is gruff at first, but he sees how she is a good mother to Leo, who is the same age as his son that died.

The old veterans are kindly, but can be gruff, they have a matchmaking twinkle in their eyes, so it was kinda funny to see them working to get Finn and Kayla together.

Kayla and Finn have good interaction, and come to see their partnership turn to friendship and then more. There was a lot of good interaction between the characters, as well as growth and a theme of not letting the past haunt the future. I loved how welcoming the town was to Kayla and Leo, as well as how everything came together in a dramatic ending. Great, enjoyable read!

Finn is looking for help as a rescue-dog caretaker and Kayla is there for the job. He doesn't want her there for long he got his demons to deal with and Kayla and her son are bringing up some awful memories. Its clear that Kayla is running from something but what could that be? The longer she sticks around the harder it becomes to stay away.

If you are looking for a romance book that clean and heart warming this maybe the book for you. It was tough getting to know both of their backstories and why they made certain choices but after getting to know them it was understandable why they did certain things. I loved seeing Kayla open up to those around her and seeing the two being welcoming towards her and her son. I loved how supportive people around her as well. This is a clean christian contemporary romance and if your into that sorta thing then you might want to get your hands on this book. I know that I really enjoyed this book and recommend you lovely readers to check it out.

From the heart of Lee Tobin McClain comes the story of ranch manager Finn Gallagher, and the new rescue dog caretaker at Redemption Ranch, Kayla White. Finn is immediately drawn to Kayla and her young son, who is the same age HIS son would have been, if he hadn't died in the accident that also claimed Finn's wife. He has always blamed himself for the accident, and has closed his heart to any possibility of love. As his heart begins to soften, can he convince Kayla that he is a man she can trust?

Kayla and her son are on the run from her abusive ex. When she learns that Finn was a part of the same Army unit that her husband claimed to be a part of, she immediately closes herself off from him. However, as she works with Finn on the ranch, she sees a man of honor - honor that her ex never showed. Can she trust him to protect her and her son, when danger shows up at her door?

This was such a good story! I have enjoyed each of the Redemption Ranch stories that I have read. If you are looking for a fairly quick, but VERY good read, pick up The Soldier's Redemption! I loved it.

Title: The Soldier’s Redemption

Author: Lee Tobin McClain

Series: Redemption Ranch book 1

Pages: 224

Genre: Christian Romance

Rating: 3 stars

Finn Gallagher has a hard time of letting go of his past. He feels that he has to carry the guilt for the rest of his life. Its part of the reason he moved to Colorado. He wants to focus on the retreat for other veterans to give them a place to heal. Kayla White and her son are running from her past and she just wants to start over some place safe. She thought Redemption Ranch in Colorado would be the place, but Finn doesn't really want her there.

However it seems that God has other plans. Finn's friend try to help him see that maybe Kayla and her son have come to Redemption ranch for a reason and maybe just maybe the three of them can become a family.

I've read other books by Lee Tobin McClain and enjoyed them, and The Soldier's Redemption the first book in the Redemption Ranch series is no different. Just like other books in the Love Inspired line, this is a sweet Christian Romance that is clean. I would recommend this book to those readers who enjoy reading Christian fiction, Christian Romance and PG Romance novels.
