I've not had a very good time with medical romances lately. It was a genre I used to love but, the last few I've picked up have been disappointing. Unfortunately Locked Down with the Army Doc didn't end my rut.
I really enjoyed the hurricane sections of this book, and I thought the chemistry in the opening pages between Jack and Amber was enjoyable. That was about all the joy I got from this. Locked Down with the Army Doc isn't a bad book it just wasn't interesting enough for me. The chemistry seemed to bleed away, and the romance moved too fast.
I had really hoped that Locked Down with the Army Doc was going to end my reading rut, sadly, it ended up making it worse.

Dr. Amer and Jack are attending a conference in Hawaii. Little did they expect to be stuck during a hurricane with a new string of Meningitis that seems to be popping up with a couple people, luckily that's Ambers focus. While she tries to treat the small amount of people Jack is there for everyone else needs. Amber has a no dating doctors rules and Jack seems to fall into that category but they can't seem to stop the heat.
I loved this book there it was pretty much non-stop with the problems that rose up causing these two to be the ones to help out. I loved seeing them working together. I loved seeing that connection between the two and getting to see the reasoning behind Ambers no dating doctors rules. I loved that they were pretty selfless putting making sure that others got the help that they needed. Overall this was a pretty great book I really enjoyed it.

Two doctors at separate conventions in Hawaii. Amber is presenting information about a new form of meningitis and the treatments required. Jack is a Scottish doctor with a new method of treating severe bleeding. Neither is looking for romance. In fact, Amber refuses to even consider dating a doctor at all.
Unexpectedly they are swallowed by medical emergency after medical emergence when a hurricane pummels the islands leaving people in the dark and in need of care. This is closely followed by a landslide burying a town due to the torrential rains. Amber and Jack do not escape unscathed, but they both keep working. When death seems imminent they both realize that they don’t want to lose each other.
A good medical romance with just enough tropical scenery and plenty of drama. Very enjoyable.
