While I am sad to see the Black Knights Inc series come to a close, I must give kudos to Julie Ann Walker for bringing everything to a spectacular conclusion! This last entry gives us two love stories, the primary one filling readers in on Angel's mysterious, complicated intelligence past and his relationship with Sonya, an Interpol agent who has believed him dead for ten years. Angel's story has been long awaited and the author does not disappoint! In addition, Ace and Rusty, at odds over Rusty's reluctance to come out of the closet, come to recognize what is important in a life or death situation and find their happy ending. Because this is the last entry in a 12 book series, the ending wraps up everyone's stories and gives readers a glimpse into their futures. This book is highly recommended, as is the entire series.

I can't believe this is the 12th and final BKI story! I am glad that it ended with Angel, the seemingly emotionless master spy and complete enigma, though because we finally get the details of his past and find the chink in his armor. One recommendation I will make here: if you have not read prior books in the series, don't try to read this book as a standalone please. Events in the past few books at a minimum have set up this final showdown and it may not make much sense to you if you haven't read them.

Black Knights Inc. is officially winding down its operations as they complete one final mission: take down Spider, the international menace who has evaded authorities for far too long, and stop him before he can complete a transaction to supply nuclear materials to Al Qaeda. BKI leaks some carefully placed information about Angel and one of his identities on the dark web for only Spider to find, and they lure the criminal into their web without him being aware of the trap they have laid. Angel just never expected his heart to revert back to the man he was 10 years ago with such ease.

He left Sonya behind with the hope that she would find love again and move on if she thought he was dead, and he was fairly certain that his death would be the outcome of the insane mission he undertook that changed his appearance and his identity. Now the sparks fly just as hotly as ever and he has to try to keep her from figuring out his true identity as they each secretly and independently work angles to bring Spider down.

Sonya has somehow managed to maintain her innate goodness during her years as an Interpol agent, but her heart still yearns for the man she lost in Paris 10 years ago. We quickly learn she has strength and courage in spades, and Angel marvels that she can still kickstart his libido and his heart with such little effort. Little things Angel does or says bring memories of Mark to the surface far too often, and although her heart is telling her the truth, her head keeps overruling the possibility that Mark is truly standing in front of her despite the "fact" that she witnessed his death. Of course Angel makes the worst decision possible by lying to her when he has the opportunity to reveal his secrets... typical guy! Once or twice I can understand, but his continued lies really disappointed me.

Of course all this is happening amidst the threat of Spider's plot to facilitate the sale of nuclear materials, but the real twist comes in when the reason for it is revealed. There are plenty of thrills and action entwined with sexy, steamy moments and the author's signature humor which left me torn between wanting to devour the story and stopping to savor it so that the book and series wouldn't end quite so fast. There were a few moments that made my heart hurt, but in the end we get a great resolution for all of the BKI family as well as what I hope is the chance for glimpses of beloved characters down the road if the final pages provide us with a clue.

Angel and Sonya's story was well worth the wait and it is on my re-read shelf to savor again in the future!

This was the 12th and final novel in Julie Ann Walker’s Black Knight Inc series. Built to Last is Jamin “Angel” Agassi and Sonya Butler’s story that was action packed and full of heart stopping moments. I enjoyed reading their novel because I’ve always had a curiosity about Angel and who would capture his heart. Words can’t describe how much I loved and hated this novel. I was happy to read it but sad that it ended knowing I was leaving this world. Built to Last was a great way to end this series though.

What a way to end this amazing series! I love Angel and the way he was written to be a secretive man....and there is so much more to him than readers know! Julie Ann chose the perfect female for him; Sonya was a tough, independent woman who is smart and can figure out Angel especially when he doesn't want her to! The suspense and storyline was fantastic, as always, I love the closeness between the team and how they work so well together. I can't wait to see what Julie Ann writes next. Whatever it is, I know it will ROCK our socks off!

The last couple of books have been building up to a showdown with the evil mastermind Spider. And now Jamin “Angel” Agassi, a former Mossad agent and currently working for Black Knight Inc. has managed to catch Spider's attention and infiltrate his network. He is an enigma. A man of mystery with several previous identities and now is basically a ghost. He is tall, dark, dangerous, and deadly. He sacrificed everything for his country including the woman he loved. And now he is a man on a mission, but also dealing with his past.

Sonya Butler is working with Spider as his Girl Friday. She is smart, resourceful, tenacious, and wary when it comes to dealing with Angel. And she may have her own hidden agenda. But there is an attraction she cannot deny and also something about Angel that makes her remember the love she lost a decade ago.

Thrust into a dangerous situation, they have to rely on each other. It is intense and unpredictable. But will their secrets and/or their pursuers catch up to them?

Ace and Rusty are also still fussing and fighting their attraction. Ace is out and never wants to be put back in the closet. But Rusty is really far in the closet and does not plan on coming out. But when things get dicey and tensions run high, feelings escalate. But will it be too late to do something about it?

This is an action-packed, suspenseful, undercover story built around two love stories. It is a second chance romance and also a M/M romance. It also has some humor and definite camaraderie mixed in. The couples are facing personal struggles in addition to the external danger. Ultimately it is about sacrifice, honesty, forgiveness, hope, and the power of love...whether it be to hurt or heal.

I would not recommend reading this one as a stand-alone and feel like it would be most enjoyed and understood if you at least read the last two books prior to this one that has followed this group of characters and story arc. Some of the other BKI agents are part of this mission including Ozzie, Rock, Boss, and Ghost. But this book also serves as an epilogue to the entire BKI series giving updates on all of the couples and giving us a chance to catch up with them and provide some series closure. And she left it with a little tease that could mean something new for this author in the future.

All good things must come to an end! I have really enjoyed this series and was disappointed to learn that this would be the last installment. I have always been fascinated by Angel and was really intrigued by this second chance romance. While parts were a touch unbelievable, I still really enjoyed it. I also really enjoyed seeing Ace and Rusty finally get their chance! Both romances were really heartwarming, but there was still lots of angst to keep things interesting. The plot was fast-paced. I liked the ending of the series as a whole and appreciated the wrap-up of each couple. Glad to see this series going out on a high note!

This book is the last book in the Black Knights Inc. series. A romantic suspense that gives you the second chance romance of Jamin (Angel) and Sonya. The history between these two is painful and complicated. The plot offers plenty of drama, steam, danger, secrets, angst, action and a bit of humor to help keep your interest easily. Also provides a conclusion to Rusty and Ace's story and a satisfying check in with all the couples from this series. A very good read.

This is the last installment of the Black Knights series, and what better way to end it then with the telling of Jamin "Angel" Aggasi's story. The mystery man of the Black Knights. And up until now, we didn't know much about him. It was fun to read about how he became who he did and his reasons behind his decisions. We also get to meet his Sonja was the one that got away, or technically, the one Angel had to give up. Their story was painful and beautiful all at the same. I did love getting to see some of the other Knights from previous books as well, especially at the end!! That being said, I really enjoyed this book, I really couldn't put it down! I don't know if it was my favorite among the series though, but I loved it all the same. I'm sad to see the series go, but all good things, unfortunately must come to an end.

Mysterious Angel meets the love of life Sonya on his toughest mission. The moments when Sonya almost sees the man behind the beautiful facade are breathtaking.
I'm not kidding - i think my heart stopped beating for a few moments.

Although Angel seemed emotionless in the previous books, Julie Ann Walker showed a complex character with all his tough and soft sides in the last BKI book.

I loved that there's also a story for Rusty and Ace - they totally stole my heart!

And the end... oh, that end... I'm sure you'll love that surprise!

Julie Ann Walker's latest installment of Black Knights Inc. is another action-packed, roller coaster ride that will keep you guessing from beginning to end. In fact, I devoured the entire thing in one sitting. I know, I know - I should have shown some restraint and made it last since this is the final book in the BKI series. BUT I just couldn't help myself - I HAD to know what was going to happen next, and before I knew it, I was at the end! That's the sign of a well-written book - I lost myself for most of the day in the complex world that Walker has created for BKI.

I absolutely fell in love with Angel. I mean, I have a spot for each of the BKI Alphas, but Angel has always intrigued me, and I'm positive that was no accident on Walker's part. But as we peeled back the layers in Built to Last, so many things became clear. And lo and behold! Angel wasn't as emotionless as he would like the whole world to think. I know that many won't understand Angel's strategy to keep Sonya in the dark, but in reality, you have to remember, Angel has spent more time being someone else, than being himself. The life he's lead, and the choices he's made would naturally lead him to his original conclusion and plan of action.

It's soo hard not to give away anything! Walker has added so many twists and turns, it's not even funny! Oh and she's added a little bit of bonus, by resolving the situation between a certain marine and BKI. I love the way Walker has wrapped up her BKI. I'm hoping she may revisit this world in the future, because I know I would love to get updates! Thank you for Black Knights Inc. Julie Ann Walker - you created something Built to Last!

The best thing that happened in Sonya's life was meeting + falling in love with Mark Rises Mossad Officer however the worst was watching Mark die.
Fast forward 10 years and Sonya is face to face with Jami "Angel" Agassi...who has some of the same mannerisms as her lost love Mark but the face is different!
Angel is undercover to takedown Lord Grafton. Information says that Lord Grafton is seeking some very dangerous materials.
The crew of Black Knights inc are on their way to backup Angel! However things go sideways on the mission nd someone end up hurt.
Angel and Sonya are working on things but somethings will never be the same!

This is the black knights series and book 12! This is Angel and Sonya book, Angel is part of the black knights, a secret elite covert operative that fronts as a tricked out motorcycle shop Sonya is an Interpol agent. It was a very well written book, to me it's a little to many books tho lol I've only read this one and up to book three they can be read as standalone but I felt like I should know the characters better? But it's definitely a well written book, lots of action, fast paced, really hot, some heartbreak! Overall it was worth reading!! Thank you NetGalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

I have loved this series from the very first book. It always has a good story that is action packed with this band of brothers that I have come to know and love. The ending is bitter sweet for me, but I was thrilled that Ms. Walker left the door open.

Angel and Sonya's story is a second chance romance that is action packed. Angel has had to change his appearance for the greater good. He walked away from Sonya ten years ago as Marc, but now as Angel he intends to claim what he had lost. Sonya is tangled in Spider's web and when Angel walks in, she feels things she hasn't felt for ten years.

This epic conclusion to this story finally leads to the take down that we've all been waiting for in the kind of blazing glory that only BKI can deliver. We get a look at all of the couples we have come to know and love through the series. It has been quite the ride. Amazing series!

I am so sad this series has come to it’s conclusion,I have loved BKI since the beginning and hope Ms.Walker will do a spinoff as hinted at the end.I loved Angel and Sonyas story and was happy to see Ghost and Rock together in this episode.I had a hard time putting the book down,the story had a great pace and I had to see Spider meet his end,and he did!The wrap up of the characters had me with goosebumps,I’m going to miss them all.I always looked foward to the next book because I love a good romantic suspense story and I’m sure there will be more from this author.

Throughout the series, the team has been trying to find an international terrorist who is part of a large crime syndicate known as Spider. After years of searching they have finally found him and Angel goes in undercover only to find out that the Interpol agent he loved and made believed that he died is Spider's, right-hand woman. What he doesn't know is she is deep undercover like he is but with all of his surgeries to change his appearance over the years she doesn't know that he is the man she fell in love with a decade ago and has been mourning ever since.
I can't believe this series is over. It has been a wild ride. I have loved them all and am sad to see them go.

Ms. Walker quickly jumped to the top of my instant purchase authors list as she consistently pens action packed smexy goodness in all her books. I can’t get enough of the BKI guys and the bad ass chicks that love them and a bonus to this book is the mystery that is Angel! *sigh* I must fan myself again, he was burning up the pages!! As always, I am left wanting more, more, more and salivating for what comes next from Ms. Walker. This is a definite must read and a spectacular addition to the BKI series.

I absolutely love the BKI series! It has been my go to read many times, and this book is no exception. This is a second chance romance between Angel and Sonya. So glad Angel got his HEA. If you love suspense, intrigue, and lots of steam, then this book (this whole series) is for you. I absolutely love the banter between all characters involved. This is a must read from Julie Ann Walker, as are all the books in this series. All loose ends are neatly tied and the ending might just lead to another series! So excited because I’m so sad this series has come to an end. You will not regret getting this book.

Angel has been the guy in the shadows for a few books now and going into his story, I had no clue what to expect, but I loved every moment of this thrill ride! He was full of secrets and oh man, what secrets they were! I seriously liked Angel more than I expected to. Even when he was an idiot. Because he never thought years down the road he would question what it meant to leave somebody he loved behind. Also the whole keeping things secret? Yeah...that made me just want to smack some sense into his stubborn self! I’m literally sitting here like dude...just tell Sonya the truth!

And Sonya..I think she was a good fit for Angel. She was smart, wore her feelings on her sleeve and was quite blunt, sometimes comically so, but she pulled Angel out of the emotional shell he encased himself in and the transformation caused a couple of heart-stopping, smiley face moments for me.

Of course, like every other BKI story there’s the requisite action and sexy times, more action and one or two ‘oh no!’ moments where I thought I was going to be throwing my book across the room!! The rest of the BKI team also get some rather sweet wrap-ups giving this reader plenty of closure to what has been one of my favorite romantic suspense series in a long while!

And that ending...oy!

This was such a great read, with the signature intense military-esque missions we have come to expect from the Black Knight crew, this story did not disappoint in it's action, plot development and of course the chance at romance for the final members of the Black Knights...

Another addition to this series that is filled with drama and excitement. This one has secrets that are part of the stuff that keeps you onto these pages. One thing about love you can not fool it for long and secrets can be uncovered. This one is centered around Angel and Sonya. They will be the ones that keep you on your toes and warm you up. This also has other angles that will have you going with a well rounded read for sure.
