Mikki Lincoln is an old school editor, no spell check for her. She can spot errors in a manuscript quicker than can say Siri. She’s come out of retirement after the death of her spouse and her first client is a brand new author, Tiffany Scott. Mikki isn’t expecting much from the young woman, but she’s surprised to find a well written, if graphically violent story, based on a recent local crime. Things get frightening after Tiffany is found dead, exactly like the character in her story. While the police may think the death was an accident, but Mikki doesn’t and she sets out to prove it. I loved the mystery in this story and I got a kick out of Mikki, a woman who can actually find and correct mistakes in a manuscript. Too many publishers use software to check for mistakes and as a result I see some pretty glaring errors
