In the second book of Karen Rose Smith's Daisy's Tea Garden Mystery, merchants including Daisy's Tea Garden, are gearing up for an influx of tourists for a quilting event that they all hope will help a much needed boost to their bottom line.

After leaving the Revelations Art Gallery to recover the sketch pad Daisy's friend, Tessa had left, they are on their way back to the Tea Garden when the alarm of the gallery sounds. Rushing back, Tessa and Daisy, find Reese Masemer, the owner of the gallery and Tessa's boyfriend, stumbling out of the gallery after being attacked. It is shortly after that, that Reese is found murdered at the foot of the bridge where Tessa likes to paint. She quickly becomes the primary suspect in the murder. Daisy starts looking into it when it becomes apparent that the police are seemly only looking at Tessa. The results of Daisy's investigation turns up other viable suspects and a secret someone doesn't want revealed.

This is another enjoyable, well written book from Karen Rose Smith. If this and the first of the series, Murder with Lemon Tea Cakes are any indication, then the Daisy Tea Garden series is going to be another must read series for cozy mystery lovers.

I usually avoid food centered books as then tend to make me way to hungry. I enjoy this one so much that breaking that pattern is fun. Such a fun series, love the characters and the multiple layers in the story. This one is staying on my to be read again list.

This book is the sequel to Murder with Lemon Tea Cakes; however, it can be read independently with no trouble. Daisy Swanson is working together with other local merchants to promote an upcoming quilting event expected to bring much needed revenue into town. Reese Masemer, who owns the local art gallery and who has been heavily involved in the planning of the upcoming event, is murdered. Daisy becomes embroiled in finding the murderer when law enforcement focuses on Daisy’s friend Tessa as the prime suspect. Can the crime be solved without sabotaging the upcoming promotional event and without anyone else getting hurt?

The characters were likeable and the story progressed smoothly. This is a nice story for whiling away a quiet weekend.

This is a delicious, multi-layered mystery that should be savored along with a cup of tea and a scone. Daisy Swanson and her two daughters returned to her hometown of Willow Creek, Pa. after the death of her husband and she opened a tea garden along with her Aunt Iris. Daisy's best friend, Tessa, works alongside her as a baker. Tessa is dating Reese, the owner of a local art gallery, and when Reese is murdered and Tessa becomes the prime suspect, Daisy gets involved in trying to clear her friend. In addition to the mystery, there is a burgeoning romance for Daisy and Jonas, wonderful look at life in Amish country and how the Amish live along with Daisy's adopted daughter Jazzi trying to develop a relationship with her birth mother and how that affects the family. I loved this book from the first page to the last and can't wait to see what the future holds for Daisy.
