I finished Claws of death by Linda Reilly on Tuesday and it was simply magic. The best kind of cozy, one with all the feels, a great twist ending (or two or three) and the perfect dose of chemistry between the characters, not to mention all the cats. This second book in the Cat Lady Series has solidified my belief that this should be a long running series and that Linda Reilly is so on the right track with this book. It is comforting, cozy and very well written. As a cat lover this book made me so happy, as a cozy mystery lover it had all the right twists and turns, a great balance of suspense, and the words to make you feel you are not just reading the book but that you are right there, along for the ride and helping the main character along the way. Great job and a book you wont want to miss!
This one is out June 26th from Lyrical Underground.

Long buried secrets mark the return of one of my favourite new series.
This is the second book in the series, and I hope there are many more!
This book has delightful characters with a whodunit that keeps you guessing.
The cat shelter is a great premise that does not take away from the mystery, and includes a touch of the paranormal.
This is a must read cozy series and I highly recommend it!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read this book!

Linda Reilly can do no wrong in my book. She has two fantastic series that only get better with each book, plus she writes cozy mystery with cats. I was always going to be sold on her, but her books truly are awesome! I can only think of two other cozy authors I look forward to as much as Linda Reilly books (Miranda James and Laura Cass). Basically if you love cats and mystery, then this book is for you!

The writing is fast paced and you're never really sure of everyone's motives. It's hard to guess the killer and why, although that's all tied up in a neat package by the end. You also get introduced to a few new faces that I can see making the next books even more fun!

A great read for cozy mystery lovers, five stars.

Thankyou for letting me read and review the second book by Linda Reilly .
It was great to revisit Lara and her aunt also the cats at the shelter which includes a mystery and a murder to solve.
A surprise ending as I wasn't sure who was the bad guy was until the end was reviled..
Brilliant book and would definitely recommend to family and friends to read .

Lara has settled back into Whisker Jog, living with her Aunt Fran in the newly created High Cliff Shelter for Cats, going out with the lawyer Gideon and catching up with her old friend Sherry. Everything is ticking along when some excitement occurs, a retiring Hollywood actress has settled into Whisker Jog, she wants to adopt a kitten or two (which she does) and she seems to want friendships which leads to Lara and Fran being invited to the welcome party being thrown for Ms Deanna Daltry. Whilst there though there are a couple of unpleasant pranks, and more unpleasantness from an uninvited guest - the problem is that guest is found dead the next day! and Deanna seems the obvious suspect.

Lara needs to help run the shelter, take under her wing a new employee, get her painting done and find out who killed the man and why! Luckily the Ragdoll mystery cat Blue is there to help facilitate matters.

Loved this second book in the series. Aunt Fran and Lara are lovely characters. I love how the cats are also like their own characters. The mystery is well plotted and the setting in New Hampshire is wonderful. Secondary characters are great too. I will certainly be reading future books in the series as well.

In the second book of this wonderful series Linda Reilly does a fantastic job of story telling. Great characters that are well described with depth, a story line that has many facets with twists and turns that are all tied together in a very unexpected ending.
Add to that some romance and this made for a PAWsome read. Can't wait for the next installment of the series.

I am so loving this new-ish series! Cats and the wonderful New Hampshire setting drew me into these books and the characters and plots have kept me reading. I got so caught up in the story, I read it in one day. I really enjoy reading about Lara and her Aunt Fran, the kind-hearted women who run a small cat shelter from their home. I'd like to see more of the secondary characters, like Gideon and Sherry, and hope to hear about some of the characters introduced in this book. The plot was great, with a few mysteries that may or may not be connected (no spoilers here!). It's fun to read about the cats Lara and Aunt Fran care for, and it's bittersweet when one gets adopted by a new family. I highly recommend this to readers who enjoy cats, mysteries, and small New England towns!

I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoyed the first instalment in this series and was very happy when I was approved for this one.
I really like this one even if it was quite different from the first instalment.
In the first one there were more iteration with the aunt the inhabitants of the town. In this one we have new characters and the developments of the heroine's love life.
The books is well written, the plot is interesting either on the mystery side either on the women's fiction side.
A very good and entertaining book that I strongly recommend.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Kensington Books
