This is the third in this series and, to get the most out of it, I would say read them in order. Out,of order might be a bit confusing. Jenny takes care of the many Little Libraries dotted around the town of Bear Falls, Michigan because there is no local library. Her friend (and partner in investigation) is Zoe, an author and a little person.na great pair of sleuths.
This time around, Jenny and Zoe are in a race against the clock to help the police find a missing teenager. Another young woman has been found dead at the side of the highway. Hopefully there won't be any others. If anybody can find Cammy, the missing girl, Jenny and Zoe can.
The setting of a small Michigan town, lots of well developed characters and the addition of some new, rich , residents with $2 million to offer the town all come together to make this an enjoyable mystery in this series.

This is the third Little Library mystery and readers will find that that is a very good well crafted sleuth. I love that the author promotes libraries and books in this series.
I like this series as its more of a classic mystery then a cozy mystery. A lot of new people are moving to small town Bear Falls and our protagonist Jenny and her side kick Zoe are back in action. The two work well together as they investigate a young missing girl. This mystery has strong characterization, a well plotted sleuth and a enjoyable setting. I like the series and highly recommend it for all mystery fans. Thank you for the ARC which does not influence my review.

In Want of a Knife by Elizabeth Kane Buzzelli is the third book in the Little Library Mystery series. I had read a previous book in the series. I had hoped to see some stronger character development in this book. Unfortunately Jenny is still moping around since she has no man in her life and appears weak. Her friend Zoe comes across as bitter. The story did not flow well at all. It jumps from one thing to the next without ever accomplishing anything. The idea for the books is wonderful, but for me the execution falls flat.

New people move to Bear Falls and bad things start to happen! Jenny and Zoe (what a great pair) are back in action only this time they are trying to find Cammy Otis, a teenage girl who has gone missing. I enjoyed the last installment in this series because I found the characters unique and liked the fact that it promoted both libraries and poetry. There isn't as much of the latter this time but the former remains true. Thanks to net galley for the ARC. This is a fast read with a nice twist on the traditional cozy amateurs.

Wow. I finished this book an hour ago and I'm still having a book hangover from it. Far from your average cozy, this was an excellent suspense novel. Although plenty of breadcrumbs were left for you to be able to figure out the mystery, there was just as much that blind-sided you.

With realistic characters who continued to develop and a beautiful town, it was very easy to get sucked in to this world. As a parent of 2 kids much like those portrayed in the story, I could easily see how someone whose brain was wired just a bit differently could be such an easy target and that definitely upped the suspense for me. There were times my heart actually hurt for the parents and the kids both.

I love that there is so much diversity among the town's population. You could find just about every person in your own community if you looked and that made for a truly wonderful experience.

Thank you to Elizabeth Kane Buzzelli, NetGalley, and Crooked Lane Books for allowing me the chance to read such a fantastic story and share my thoughts and opinions with others.

I really thought this story was about little people for quite a way through the book. Then a few hints straightened out my thinking and I realized all of the “little” things that were talked about pertained to the famous writer, the little person. Actually the whole cozy was cute and yet it even seemed as if the town was little as well as the mansion being renovated.

Just because I might have had the wrong impression about size in this cozy, it does not mean that the book was not well-written. It had the things a cozy should contain…a gossipy town, an amateur sleuth, and of course, a body. Just because the amateur sleuth happened to be a little person did not change a thing. It was a cute and enjoyable story.

***This book was provided to me by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are definitely my own.

An excellent mystery with a race against time to find a missing teenage girl. Zoe Zola and Jenny Wilson join forces with the police to find Cammy Otis before she winds up like Janice Root - dead on the side of the road. A suspenseful mystery that will leave you guessing.

This is the first book I've read by this author. It sounded good, so I was looking forward to reading it. Unfortunately, the characters fell flat and there was none of the typical "cozy" you find in cozy mysteries.
I don't think I will be reading more in this series.

I volunteered to read and review an ARC of this book provided by the publisher and NetGalley.

In Want of a Knife by Elizabeth Kane Buzzell

When I started this book I was not sure I was going to finish it. I found it to have too many characters and could not keep them straight. It took me a couple of chapters to figure out who the main character was. Though the main character is Jenny it seemed more that Zoe was. This is the 3rd book in the Little Library Mystery Series. I will be purchasing the first 2 to catch me up to speed and because I did not put this book down. Minnie Moon (the pushy Mom and town gossip) was my favorite character in the book and I would really like to see and hear more of her. The story is about Zoe who is a writer who has an gift at helping the police solve murders. Her neighbor and friends are Dora Zoe's friend and Jenny's Mother. Jenny who has little boxes throughout the town with children and adult books in them,as the town has no library. A body is found murdered on the side of the road of one of the town girls and the trio goes about trying to solve the case. I found the book to be very descriptive and helpful to imagine what the characters look like and the surroundings, especially Bear Falls.. The only other issues I have is the title does not go with the book and I would classify it as a Mystery not a cozy mystery.

I read the book and still can't see where the title fits in. Saying that though I did enjoy the book. There's a murder and a disappearance, and several themes that could be fraught with difficulty - small people - why should they get along with another small person, just because they are the only ones around. A $2 million legacy to the town, it may only be a small town but what heppens when everyone has a different idea on what the money should be spent on. A sect who encouraged two of its members to walk away when their daughter need them the most.

The story is told cleverly and with humour - who wouoldn't want meatloaf with peppers everyday from a grumpy cook - I found the amateur sleuths interesting and enjoyed their interaction with the police.

I enjoyed this addition to the series. We get to catch up with all the familiar characters and meet a few new ones along with having to say goodbye. I won't tell you who we have to say goodbye to, you'll have to read for yourself to find out.

It starts with a dead body out on the road. She's a young girl who has not been abused but died from asphyxiation. While they are trying to find out where she was and what happened to her, another girl goes missing...

Crooked Lane Books and Net Galley let me read this book for review (thank you). It will be published September 11th.

The missing girl is a little handicapped and she trusts everyone. This is not a good thing when evil comes to town. The majority of the story is about the search but you get background on some of the families and their secrets as well.

The story holds your attention to the very end. It has an unexpected ending...

When I saw that this was a take on Pride and Prejudice, I was in! Unfornunately, I had not read the other two in the series, so maybe that's why I had a bit of trouble getting through. I liked the premise, but I'm not sure about the characters. I liked it enough to want to try the preceding books, and maybe I'll get a better handle on the characters. I would recommend, but suggest only if you've read the others in the series.

I really enjoyed this book. It's a bit darker than the usual but was equally well done. The dynamic between Jenny and Zoe is marvelous and fun. I was equally interested in all the side plots. So well done!

A young girl wearing old style clothing is discovered near Bear Falls. Little Librarian Jenny Wilson wants to find out more about the death. When another girl goes missing Jenny enlists the help of best friend Zoe Zola.

This is a good cozy mystery but unfortunately I didn't like the style of writing as I found it a bit confusing.
The cast of characters is likeable and the plot is good.
It would a 4/5 with some editing because this series has a lot of potential.
Many thanks to Crooked Lane Books and Netgalley for this ARC

This is the 3rd book in the Little Library Mystery series. I love those Little Libraries so I was excited to see this available on NetGalley. I enjoyed reading this book, but Not enough to go back and read the previous two and I am not sure I will read more in the series. The characters did not speak to me the way other characters do in cozy mysteries. Zoe came across a tad bitter to me and that turned me off. Jenny and Dora were nice enough, but I did not like how she kept her plans a secret from her potential boyfriend. While I am kind of curious to see if Fitz becomes a main character, he rubbed me the wrong way also. In the end, he changed, but I see no reason he had to be so rude to Zoe at their first meeting. As I stated, the characters just did not work for me. I am giving this a 3-star review.

I could not get into this book. Slow, obnoxious characters. I don’t think I will be reading other books in this series.

This quirky, clever cozy series launch...[is] hard to resist. Quirky main characters, lyrical dialogue and a story sure to appeal to bookworms as well as cozy mystery fans are all elements that give this novel a distinctive voice. A clever mystery and intriguing supporting cast round out the mix. The author created much detail so the reader could visualize every aspect of the community. Great plot. Kept you guessing.

As a big cozy fan, I enjoy reading these mysteries. Every once in a while I’ll find an author’s style just isn’t aligned to my tastes and have to decide whether to put the book aside or keep reading and finish the book. This is one such case and I did push on and finish the book, though I won’t be reading the others in the series.

I found A little person as a main character was refreshing, but also found her to be personality to be grating and rude. Maybe this is a case of coming into the series without having read the first two, but I just never quite fell into this one.

This was my first Little Library Mystery and I was enthralled. There was a tautness to the mystery that kept me on edge through the entire book. The characters were all unique and engaging. I have never been to Michigan, but I felt as if I have now visited there with Elizabeth Kane Buzzelli's rich descriptions. I am going to go get the first books in the series, it was just that good.
