Synopsis: Gia has her own personal security business and she has worked very hard to build her reputation. She is not helped by the fact that her parents don't support her; in fact, they think that she should marry a nice man and settle down to be a housewife. Gia has been in the business for a few years, and has often worked with Beckett and his brothers.
Gia doesn't appreciate the fact that Beckett never seems to have the same woman with him twice, but finds him gorgeous. She and Becket seem to strike dislike sparks off each other. One night, Beckett interferes when Gia is trying to have a good time when they are out at the bar, and ends up taking her home when she can't make it herself. Beckett discovers that Gia has feelings for him, and he decides that they are going to have a relationship.
Gia is more reluctant, still trying to prove that she can make it in her chosen business. It doesn't help that someone seems to be trying to maker her look bad. Before they know it, though, Gia and Beckett are family serious.

What I liked: that Beckett and Gia understood each other, and supported each other. They both respected the other's ability, and helped each other whenever they could. I liked the friendships between the Women of Haven, and the family dynamics between the Men of Haven. Gia was strong and competent and willing to accept help when she needed it. Beckett was also strong, and believed in Gia all the way. Gia and Beckett weren't afraid to tell each other they loved the other person, and they said it often.

What I didn't like: how reluctant Gia was to see the bad in someone who she had known for most of her life.

Overall impression: well written characters who were easy to spend time with. I would definitely read another book by this author. Alternating 3rd person POV between Gia and Beckett.

Beck has had it hot for Gia for a while now, he knows she doesn’t mix business with pleasure, so he’s kept it to himself and watched and waited. Then one night she drunkenly admits to wanting him, Beck is elated and ready, but he wants her sober and ready to take a chance on a relationship and love.
Beck is a wonderful character, very sensitive, and Gia is used to being in control of her life and even has physical strengths to prove it, and was happy to let Beck take control of there loving. But allowing him and the guys to take care of her was hard for her to take at times.
An enjoyable story, with well developed characters. Their romance develops while they deal with personal issues, Beck has SPD and Gia’s family is awful. They made a great team, professionally, and as lovers. A well written story, highly entertaining. I’m looking forward to the next book in this GREAT series!

The men of Haven are strong, sexy, caring, lovable and protectively Alpha to the nth degree. This story with my favorite sarcastic bad-boy isn't any different.

The characters are well developed and it is easy to understand where Gia's thoughts and feelings are coming from. Well, let me say in everything but in regards to Beckett. (Insert big grin) Seriously though, in everything. She is who I want to be when I grow up, if I grow up. Why? For one thing, she gets to do the nasty with Beckett. For another, she kicks butt, is a smart, savvy, capable woman and still manages to look gorgeous while doing it all.

Beckett...mmm Beckett. He can pet me anytime. But I've digressed yet again. What do I love most about this character? Morgan has written him with a disability, but one he has learned to control or at least recognize when its a problem. He isn't afraid to ask for help. He doesn't take any shit from anyone, but he also doesn't alone someone (Gia) to hide her feelings either. He stands up for what is right and he isn't afraid to get messy. There is much more to Beckett than meets the eye. I guess that is what I love best about all the men of Haven.

There isn't much more that I can say about this book that my co-reviewer hasn't already said. I'm looking forward to reviewing Axel's book and am heading to my local bookstore to add the paperback to my library as soon as possible.

Rating: 4.5 stars

Ugh, I wish I'd read the other books in the series first because I feel like I missed out on a lot of the banter and lead-up to this book! I signed up for the tour because I was intrigued by the idea of a female security specialist butting heads (and bumping other parts) with a very alpha coworker. I could see the potential for steamy banter a mile away!

I could completely see where Gia was coming from. In such a stereotypically masculine industry, she felt the constant need to prove herself, not showing any hint of femininity except what was needed for a job. And given the profession, she couldn't just act like a guy; she had to always be strong and tough, never showing vulnerability for fear it would count against her. If she was going to have a man in her life, he'd need to both respect her need to stand strong and have her career on her terms, as well being strong enough himself to stand up to her when necessary.

And boy oh boy... Beckett was perfect for her. So confident and sure, and wowza, did he know how to go after what he wanted in the sexiest way. Simple acts like squeezing Gia's knee had my chest growing tight and my breath getting shallow. I loved watching him try to toe the line between taking the lead and letting Gia take care of herself. Honestly, that's my perfect guy: someone who can take charge but also respects what I want and think.

Of course, there had to be some of my kryptonite thrown in: sparring. All that sweaty tension, the muscles, the touching. Ugh. Every time a book has training/sparring between the love interests, I'm hooked. Coupled with the verbal sparring that happened constantly between the two, and I was well and truly gone. The heat just kept rising between these two, waiting for a release, but I got scorched before that even happened.

Bonus points... Beckett had Sensory Processing Disorder!!! Ahhhh! This was super exciting for me to discover as it's a disorder not often talked about. I had a particular interest in it while doing my undergrad in occupational therapy, so this made my day. And really, taking out the disorder bit, we all have sensory preferences. For example, I self-soothe through rubbing my hands and feet together, and I really love rocking motions and sometimes rock side to side to help myself sleep (proprioception), while other people might hate these things.

Finally, beyond the romance, the plot was also fantastically exciting. Sabotage, gunshots, cartel involvements... And through it all, I had my notions as to who was behind it all, but I could never say for sure, and I definitely didn't know how they'd orchestrate it all. I was kept on my toes until the end!

Yup, I enjoyed this one...

I just read a thrilling and passionate contemporary romance that had me falling hard and fast for the Men of Haven.

There is no doubt that bad boys are just hot and sexy, and Beckett Tate is definitely both of those, but he also has a vulnerable side that just made me want to snatch him up and cuddle, of course that might have been a bit difficult considering he fell for tough as nails, Gia. Both characters are strong and very compelling and easily connected to and their relationship is one full of emotional turbulence and a kind of “tip toe” through the minefields of their issues. Let me clarify, while the couple had issues, the author did a great job of bringing those issues to my attention and having the couple deal with them without overdoing them and making it seem impossible. The relationship moved at a believable pace and was full of electrifying chemistry and red hot passion.

Stand & Deliver is fast paced and full of thrills and suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat with twists and turns that kept me guessing. The plot had several intriguing conspiracies going on throughout so there was never a dull moment to be found. The story also had lots of intriguing secondary characters that rounded out the story and ensured that I want to get to know them all.

This is the first book that I have read by Rhenna Morgan and I just have to wonder how I managed to do that. Her world and characters are well developed and intriguing and the Men of Haven are just my type of bad boy – ones who play by their own rules. I am definitely going to be reading the previous books while I await the next book in the series.

Beckett has SPD - Sensory Processing Disorder. Something I had never heard of and while reading this book I started researching the subject. Author Rhenna Morgan does these types of scenarios often to raise awareness and understanding. That is why I enjoy reading her books. She does it in a compassionate and informative manner making sure readers have a clear comprehension of the disorder. So turn to the back of this book in the Author's Note section for why she choose to write about this disorder.

Gia is a hard-ass woman and many of us woman will relate to how hard it is for a woman to work in a male dominated profession. I for one experienced this as a Director of IT, as men doing my same job made $50k more than me. The reader will see Gia change into a softer woman as she progresses throughout the book and still retains her tough girl attitude at work. The important part about this transition is that she doesn't loss her professional strength while she gains personal change and perspective.

Family is a big lesson in all the Haven Brotherhood series. Family as in those who love, protect and are always there for you. This is not necessarily immediate family as most of the characters in this series grew up in rough childhoods so they created a tight family of friends. I love how this gives everyone hope and shows them it is possible to have loving family outside the common definition of family.

So kudos to Author Rhenna Morgan for not only writing a hot sexy 5 STAR read but also teaching her readers about SPD.

Gia is working in a job where females are the Minority. She has come a long way even though her family thinks she doesn't belong. Beckett is her colleague and a gentleman with the ladies. Both have had crushes on each other for the past couple years and then one night after drinks are down the Hatch(Gia) The confession of her feelings for Beckett means all bets are off. He is Alpha and protective but now that her integrity is in jeopardy after being wrongly accused they both have to find the balance of being able to work together . Beckett has to be able to let Gia take lead. This book is sexy with a little suspense but the pull between these two characters is electrifying. The supporting characters are interesting and since I have not read the other books of the Men of Haven I am intrigued. Loved it!

5 - "...Your days of dreaming are over." Stars!

I am a little late to the party with this series, with book five; Stand & Deliver (but my first) of the Men of Haven series giving us Beckett Tate and Gia Sinclair’s story.

GIF.

This was one of those books you pick up and ooopsie, the next time you check it’s well past your bedtime and you have been reading for hours. I got absorbed into this story, where two dominant take charge types to those around them, learn together to let those walls down with each other. Both of them have their own unique reasons for being the way they are, and I loved the way they worked through everything with each other as the book progressed.

"No bullshit… Not with me. Not between the two of us. Not ever again."

A drunken slip from Gia, literally makes all Beckett’s dreams come true when he realizes that the attraction he has had for her for the last few years isn’t as one sided as he believed. And after that all bets are off in his mind, and the chase is on. Gia is a little gun-shy with men, and a relationship with one who works in the same field of security and protection as she does, flags up concern about her professional respectability initially, but Beck isn’t one to be put off easily, and oh my wow, his pursuit of her was adorably swoony with a large side of alpha thrown in and I loved every second of it.

"A man like me doesn’t get a taste of a woman like you and walk away without exploring more…"

Beckett however is a man with his own insecurities and vulnerabilities, and I think it was the fact he was prepared to put it all out there for Gia and the way he did it that made me fall in love with him even more, he may be an alpha character but for Gia his heart was on show for everyone too see.

She knew him. Accepted all that he was. His high-handed bullshit. His need to dominate and protect her. His fucked-up disorder…

...And she loved him anyway.

You get a decent line of suspense thrown in as well (although it was pretty obvious who the culprit was), and for me the introduction to the Haven family in general just made me desperate to read the previous books in the series, and hopeful that there will be more to come in the future.

Stand and Deliver is a sexy and exciting hero in pursuit story (my favorite!) with two strong characters who have been fighting their attraction to each other - but no longer. Beckett Tate has decided it's time he makes his feelings known to fellow security expert Gia Sinclair. He wants her to be part of his inner circle, the members of Haven who are family and friends and their partners. It's an elite group that doesn't mind skirting the law to keep their clients and family safe. Gia doesn't have that kind of support in her life and it's an addictive idea to be wanted and needed, and to know someone has her back. Plus, Beckett gives her the freedom to let go of control in the bedroom, the one place she can relinquish the tight control she has on the rest of her life. Their love scenes are hot and steamy and it was great to see Gia connect with Beckett and the important people in his life.

Gia's got a complicated relationship with her political and high society parents who don't think much of her career, or her choices in men. She's also got someone out to sabotage her career. This makes for some intense and action packed scenes as Beckett and his friends work to help Gia figure out who is out to get her, and why. I loved meeting the other Men of Haven and their partners and can't wait to catch up on their stories, plus see what else is in store! The combination of suspense, action and steamy romance made for an exciting and thoroughly enjoyable read.

Stand & Deliver has easily become my favorite book in the Men of Haven series. Don't get me wrong, all of the books are excellent but I loved Beck and Gia's story so much. The chemistry between the pair crackles and is so intense. Gia is strong heroine working a field dominated by men. She's worked her way up to where she is and is proud of her accomplishments. Her family, however, can't see beyond their own egos to provide her with any kind of praise. When a series of events takes place putting Gia in a negative light, Beck and the rest of his family have her back when her own family tries to tear her down. I had a feeling the events were going to go down the way they did but it did not diminish anything about the story.

The author wrote the characters realistically and with emotion the reader can feel. I found it easy to slip into Gia's shoes when she was around her biological family. The author projected Gia's emotions clearly, and in some instances her pain was pain I have felt in the past concerning my family. Her struggles to be the person she is and not the person her family thinks she should be caused conflict in her mind. Also, constantly having to be perfect and in control in her field in order to be taken seriously and remain at the top takes a toll on her.

Gia is able to give that control up, though not at all in the work environment. Gia's ability to relinquish control in the bedroom occurs with the last person she thought she'd ever tangle the sheets with - Beck. Finding compatibility with Beck surprises her but also shows her vulnerable side. If you've read the other four books in the series you know that the brothers are fiercely protective of those they love. Women in their lives tend to view that protectiveness as control. It's no different in Stand & Deliver. Beck is a wonderful character who learns that Gia is a strong woman that can take care of herself. Gia is a wonderful character who learns she can trust and rely on Beck and his brothers. Trusting each other goes a long way in keeping Gia from feeling like he's controlling her and Beck from alienating her and making her feel like she can't to the job. Finding that balance is what makes their relationship work, but it's not all wine and roses while they figure each other out. That is where the realism in this tale lies.

This series is phenomenal. Rhenna Morgan has mad freaking skills. Everything about her books are wonderful. I love everything about Stand & Deliver. The character development and world building continues in each book with each main brother and their potential love interest while still making sure we get to hang out with the rest of family. Both characters are unique, yet are perfectly paired in the author's brotherhood world. I was drawn into the story from the very beginning and everything about it kept me engaged. The love scenes were steamy and sensual and written well. Beck and Gia compliment each other in the security detail industry and between the sheets.

The plot was smooth and the entire story was perfectly paced. I was never bored or overwhelmed with details. The dialogue between everyone was realistic and conversational - it was like I was there with them. The events and storylines were well thought out and eventually they all came together in an explosive crescendo. Be prepared to get lost in Stand & Deliver and not find your way back out into the real world until you get to the very last word in the story!

I voluntarily read an advanced review copy of this book and I loved it!

Beckett and Gia were both Rockstar's in my mind. They were both so strong separately but together they were unstoppable. The only moments that gave me pause was when Gia's womanhood was called into question....but I am happy that Rhenna Morgan made Gia have moments where she was soft and pink and others where she was cold hard steel.

Overall a very good read and a great addition to the Men of Haven series.

Stand and Deliver is the fifth installment of the Men of Haven series and brings us to Beckett Tate, the security expert of the brothers. Gia is the woman he wants, and he's willing to give her time to come to terms with the fact that he's claiming her, but he isn't willing to walk away from her. Gia is a badass in the security field and has had to work ten times harder than her male colleagues, so it's hard for her to give up control, but with Beckett she's ready to hand it all over to him.

I loved that Gia and Beckett both had such strong ambitions in life. I felt like it connected them to each other more than most main characters that they shared that and it brought them together. Gia didn't have an easy time in her profession no matter how much she fought to get ahead, and as much as Beckett wanted to help her and protect her, he didn't. I loved that about it and to me that showed the real strength he had, to sit back and let the woman he loved handle herself without interfering when he wanted to. Then on the flip side, when she really did need Beckett Gia wasn't afraid to let him take over, showing her own strength in the process. I just really enjoyed both of them together and admired the hell out of them.

Overall, this is definitely a recommended read from me. The chemistry between these characters was amazing, the strength they both had was written very well, and the intriguing story surrounding them is captivating. I would say that this could be read as a standalone, there are past characters that are involved in the story but nothing really mentioned about them that will spoil their own story.

Exciting and entertaining while sensual and smoking hot too. Great characters, enthralling storyline, steamy hotness and perfect ending. Just fantastic, I absolutely loved reading this book and I can’t wait for more of this authors work to be released. I would highly recommend this book to all book lovers out there

"When we fuck you absolutely will not have the lead. Ever."

The Men of Haven have a gift for finding strong women who can handle their caveman tendencies and dish it back. I was so excited to meet the woman that would make Beck work for it. As I'm sure you already know if you've been reading this series, all of the brothers are hot and have no problem finding willing women. And actually, none of them are actively looking for a relationship. But when the right one comes along the big bad boys fall the hardest. And when he brings her to meet the family, what a fun time that is. I confess, I wish I could join the family myself...sigh. ❤

I really enjoyed Gia, she's badass. She's had to work hard to earn respect in her chosen field that is primarily men. She has to prove herself over and over, never letting her girly side show. She and Beck have known each other for three years, but it's not until a drunk confession lets the cat out of the bag that he discovers she's attracted to him. But that doesn't mean she's willing to do anything about it. But if you've met Beck, you already know that once he sets his sights on something, it's a done deal. Now that he knows that his lust is not one-sided, it's on. Yup, here's the part where you get rid of any distractions and turn up the A/C. Forget about sleep or work, you won't be doing any of that until you get to the end of this very sexy and suspense-filled deliciousness where he turns her every 'no' into a 'yes'.

I'm so in love with this series. I discovered it by accident and once I started reading the first book you couldn't pry it out of my hands with a crowbar. I was hooked, and I still am. I hope they keep adding new men into Haven and the author keeps telling their stories, forever. I'm most excited to meet the woman that flips Axel's kilt and I get a taste of his sexy Scottish accent in the bedroom. The line forms here...

5 The Real Alpha Deal, Woo Hoo Stars
* * * * * Spoiler Free
OMFG, if having a man look at you like he wants to wrap you up in his arms and never let you go is you idea of hot...Then this book is for you. If having his hands touch you, caress you and have the need to never let you go...get in line...

Because Beckett Tate is Mine.
No, really get in friggin' line.
This is a man who has the need to touch and I would be more than happy to fulfill his needs.

Ok, Wendy enough.

Seriously, I must have been away on some mental vacation because this is the first experience I have had with the Men of Haven. This is a group of men who per their own words:

"Live hard, f*ck harder and make their own rules. They take what they want, always watching each other’s backs and loving the women they claim with unyielding tenderness"

Now this series follows these men who are involved together, working with security situations... covering all forms. They have the history of military and the understanding each is part of this family unit they created, bonded and held dear. Once you were part of this group, you were "In Like Flynn"...meaning no matter what the situation, they have each others back.

This tale has one of the men, Beckett finally make his move and approach Gia, a woman who has worked on past security/rescue situations in the past. She is a woman who has cut a difficult path for herself in the personal security business. She has had to deal with men who would undercut her authority on jobs, men who would dismiss her abilities and men who wanted only to use her.

Gia was having nothing of it. She had worked hard fighting the image of a Barbie Doll. She was Southern, came from a powerful rich family which wanted her to "be have, settle down and marry well." Gia said, Hell No to that, moved away and never looked back.

However, there was looking at Beckett whenever they were working or hanging out together. She thought she had been doing it under the radar...but you see, Beckett was looking at her as well. When both of them ended up at a Happy Hour get together, the heightened awareness goes through the roof when another man who had worked with all of them leaned up to Gia at the bar and she wasn't into it. Beckett was not having it and made sure he left her alone.

Gia was not please with Beckett's intervention and let him know she would have handled it her self. She proceeded to hang with one of the women and got soundly smashed. Beckett promised the girlfriend to take care of Gia and brought her back to her condo.

As Beckett made sure Gia was safe, wrapped up in the quilt on her bed, he heard her mumbling how she thought the soft touching Beckett gave to sooth her to sleep was a dream. She shared her feelings for him and this allowed Beckett to know she felt the same about him as he felt for her.

This was a game changer. Beckett filed all that away and when she woke, Beckett was still there, dressed as he was and willing to take care of her hangover. Gia was hesitant and made sure nothing had happened. Beckett laughed, letting her know if something had happened, she would totally know about it.

These two each have their own dilemmas and challenges when they think about relationships. Yet, when Beckett shows Gia how sincere he is and how committed in showing her he respects who she is, her abilities and career business savvy... those walls begin to crumble.

And Oh My, the way Beckett cherishes Gia...He shows her how a man can love a woman... slow, fast, soft, tender, rough and hard. This is man who is able to give as well as take and during all of it, he allows Gia to feel safe...free. There is nothing more sexy then being able to let go and just feel.

This series is laced with suspense and the working of relationships... all sorts. These Men of Haven have met many of their own women and with each new person, they learn what a gift it is to be included.

Can you tell I loved this book. Again, Beckett is mine....Just sayin'

The latest from the Haven Brotherhood will have you simply melting. If you've read the previous books you will have noticed something going on between Gia and Beckett. Well, there's a whole lot going on in Stand & Deliver.

Gia has had to fight tooth and nail to establish herself in the male-dominated security business. Beckett has always helped out whenever and wherever he can without getting in her way. He respects her and her work ethic immensely. Which is why he's tried to keep things professional till now.

But once he finds out that Gia has become the target of someone who is trying desperately to sabotage and undermine her as a security expert, he can no longer ignore his feelings for her.

In all honesty, I wish I had a Beckett of my own. Rhenna it is just not fair for you to come up with these guys and not have real ones to giveaway. I'd enter the heck out of those giveaways!

With her Men of Haven series, Rhenna Morgan has created a tight knit ground of friends and co-workers, each appealing in their own way and each worth of happiness. Stand and Deliver is a sexy, swoony and exciting new entry in the series following security expert Beckett Tate and his coworker Gia Sinclair.

Even though he hides it well, Beck has been watching and wanting the smart and sexy woman for years. But knowing she didn’t mix business with pleasure had kept him away until the night she drunkenly admitted she wanted him. With an admission like that the alpha in Beck is ready to take what he wants, but can he convince Gia to take a chance on them?

Their chemistry explodes and even though Gia is used to being in control, she perfectly content letting Beck take the metaphorical wheel in bed, but when their relationship goes from sizzling hot to deep and meaningful, can he sway her into accepting that even though she can take care of herself, with him and his close knit and loyal to a fault extended family, she doesn’t have to? Especially when her career is threatened.

Some authors use their characters’ past ordeals to provide problems in the romance, so it’s wonderful that that their main conflict comes from outside sources. Oh, don’t get me wrong, both Beck and Gia have issues of their own to deal with – Beck has an uncommon disorder and Gia has a dreadful family. But in partnering up both romantically and professionally, they complement each other perfectly.

Beck’s extended family, his brothers, their wives and moms are wonderful supporting characters. They’re warm, welcoming and very protective of their own. I loved how they welcomed Gia into their fold. It could have been too much, but for someone who had never really known what a real family was all about, it was just right for her.

Beck and Gia were an incredible couple. I got lost in their sweet and sexy romance that made me swoon. This is my first Rhenna Morgan book, but it certainly won’t be the last. I look forward to her next installment.

Stand and Deliver is book #5 of the Men of Haven series by Rhenna Morgan. It is an exciting standalone contemporary romance, told from both points of view with a happy ending.

Stand and Delivery is a good friends to lovers romance. Beckett and Gia work together and in the beginning shied away from the underling chemistry that has been around.
Their personal life progresses but it needed a little more for me. The overall storey needed more as well.
I know names get reused but there were several names that were consistent with another series . I know that's going to happen but I found it odd.

I received a copy for a honest review.

How in the world have I missed this series?!?!? Stand & Deliver is book 5 in the Men of Haven series, and though I felt a little lost at the start, it was such an entertaining read I kept going forward. I am so glad that I stuck in with Rhenna Morgan. Her characters are complex and clear voiced. I found them easy to connect to and root for, even the secondary characters are rich. The story was well balanced between action and romance, and the love scenes, while quite hot, were placed well in the plot and seemed to move the story along. I will definitely be seeking out books 1 - 4, based on the stellar storytelling skills displayed by Ms. Morgan. The synopsis is quite dead on to the story, and if you like action romance writers like Lori Foster and Suzanne Brockmann, you'd probably enjoy this series.

4.5 Star Review of Stand and Deliver (Men of Haven #5) by Rhenna Morgan

Rhenna Morgan is a new author to me and why that is I have no idea and although book number 5 in the series, I had no issues reading Stand and Deliver. This is security expert Beckett Tate and Gia Sinclair’s story.

Gia is extremely successful in the male dominated world she works in with Beckett. Whilst he is a total alpha male, Gia can hold her own professionally but in the bedroom she has no issue with Beckett taking the lead.

The tug of war between Beckett and Gia intrigued me. The chemistry between Beckett and Gia was smoking hot and certainly heated up the pages.

Beckett is a man I would want to have in my corner, he is hard working, honest, protective and has an aura of power I found overwhelmingly attractive.

I love how feisty Gia is and yet underneath it all she has a softer, more vulnerable side. It is that softer side that finally gives Beckett the incentive to pursue the woman he has feelings for, after all he has wanted her for years.

There was suspense, mystery and romance which had me hooked from the start. The banter between Beckett and Gia had me in stitches at times.

I thoroughly enjoyed Stand and Deliver which was well written and I recommend it happily.

I received a copy of the book from the publisher via Netgalley.
