However, this was not my cup of tea. I may be in the minority here with it, but I found myself lost at times.
I also didn't care about the characters and its hard to invest time in a book when you find no common ground with the characters.

Reddick stands out like a sore thumb as a white man living in a black Brooklyn neighborhood. A would-be artist, he makes his living hanging art for New York’s wealthy elite. When a young woman he knows disappears and her über wealthy fiancée won’t call the police, Reddick decides to find out what happened to the young woman himself. The search distracts him from his own foundering career, bur he finds himself pulled into an ugly back story of money, power and corruption.
