“You make a wish and hope it comes true...”

This is one of my favorite reads of 2018. It was gripping, devastating, and beautifully wrong. I completely fell in love with the characters and their stories. Each.and.every.one.of.them. I need more, Lily!!

“Once upon a time, there was a dirty girl on the streets and the man who would make her his...”

Vincent Mercier has three days until his execution. He grants Meadow Graham the interview of a lifetime. She will hear his version of the story and learn why he killed four people, one of which is her twin sister. Will Meadow learn his secrets before the time comes for her to reveal her own?

“….in this particular fable, there is a prince, there is a maiden, there is a villain, there is a kiss, and there is a sunset – the perfect timing is tied to its tragedy.”

This book will have you hooked from the first page. It’s so well put together and had me on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t put it down until I learned Vincent and Meadow’s secrets. Thank you so much for providing me with an ARC, Lily!

***5 ‘You Make A Wish, And Hope It Comes True’ Stars***

Lily White has done it again!

Wishing Well sucked in me from the start, frustrated the hell out of me numerous times (for reasons we’ll kind of address *BSEG*) gave me the FEELS (Yeah, didn’t necessarily expect that either) and left me with a weird mix of ultimate satisfaction with THAT ending while in my head I was thinking “But, but…” Simply put, the mind fuck was real and I absolutely adored it!

Vincent is an enigma, complex and yet simple, and that made him absolutely fascinating. The range of feels I had for this man were crazy. I was wary of him, hated him, hurt for him and in a strange way loved him. Meadow is tenacious and broken, but determined to gain some closure for herself and her twin. I loved her strength and the empathy I had for her as she learned of all that happened to her sister knew no bounds. The battle of wills these two engage in was as sexually charged as it was emotionally charge and reminded me of a fencing match where the opponents parried back and forth, teasing out the weak spot and then going in for the winning strike when the other least expected it.

As for the story. I was hooked, not gonna lie, but there were moments in the beginning where things moved so slow, it was excruciating and I had to put the book down. Not because I was frustrated as all get out, at least not totally, but because if I didn’t I would skip ahead (even to the end ~ I know bad reader/reviewer *slaps own hand*) and this is NOT a book you want to do that with because you will miss something. But then that point came where I didn’t want to put it down, in fact I got kinda pissy when I had no choice but to stop reading, and what you end up with is a story that is so much more than the sum of its parts and has you craving more.

I know, another vague, non spoilery and probably verbal vomit-y review, but it is necessary because (queue the groans) you HAVE to go into this book as blind as possible. As it is, I probably said too much, but it is what it is. This really was a well written and well balanced read. You get a little romance, a little smexy, some humor, and a good dose of heart even as your anticipating what will be coming next from the various players in this twisted tale. And that ending? Despite my inner...turmoil...it is a fitting end.

I absolutely love Lily White's genius mind!! I swear each book she writes always transports you into a world where you are guaranteed to be exhilarated and shocked. The minute I opened Wishing Well I knew she was going to blow my mind. This novel was dark, heartbreaking, sexy, sordid but so sensual and mysterious. I lost myself in this story in one sitting and never came up for air. I absolutely fell in love with the characters and could not get enough!!

Without giving away ANY spoilers, journalist Meadow Graham is invited to interview death row inmate, Vincent Mercier, the man who murdered four people including her twin sister. She yearns to hear his confession and the missing details surrounding the tragic death of her sister. But with every secret and detail revealed, will she realize that both truth and lies are often twisted into a tragic fairytale with an ending no one could see coming?

I absolutely FLOVED this story! I thought it was so unique and suspenseful. I was holding my breath every other second waiting for bombs to be dropped. Lily White really is the master of mindfks as what you perceive as truth is really a mirage. This story completely sucks you in and immerses the reader into a den of family secrets and subterfuge. It is a game of pawns, kings, maidens and villains and what you see isn't always what you get. This story was brilliant!! Bravo!! 4.5 stars!! ~Ratula

~WRITING - PLOT - PACE~
CHRIST ON A CRACKER where do I even start? This book was just SOOO good. Probably one of the best books I have read in AGES. I am honestly at a loss for words because nothing I can say here can capture how awesome I thought this book was. The writing was PHENOMENAL. The pace was perfect. The plot was...gaah...just out of this word riveting. And that ending...OMG. I legit was sobbing like a frigging baby. Just do yourself a favor and go into this one blind. You won't regret it.

~MAIN CHARACTERS~
This part of the review is going to be super vague so as not to give even a teensy bit of this book away. Let me just say that these characters will hook you from page one. They will make you want to smack them. They will make you laugh. They will rip your heart out. They were fantastically well written and each one of them was well developed and multilayered.

~HEAT LEVEL~
Low to Medium. This one had some good spice to it and the frequency of the scenes felt organic to the story.

~ANGST LEVEL - SEXUAL HISTORIES~
Highish. There is a lot going on in this one <--- again I am choosing to be vague as like I said above book is just best gone into blind. So there is angst coming from a lot of different directions. None of the characters were virgins. There was something in this one that I usually have a major problem with. It did not bother me at all in this case, but if you wish to know more than you are more than welcome to message me.

~IN THE END~
I was legit blown away. I really don't know what else to say about it. It was an amazing book from beginning to the end. So much so that I kind of want to start right back at the begging and read it again. So much so I want another book so I can continue enjoying these characters. Therefore, it will come as NO surprise that yours truly is going to give this one two HUGE thumbs up.

I'm mind blown at the moment still trying to process!!
If i could rate this book any higher I would.
It deserves more than 5 stars.
In true Lily style she has left me dumbfounded.
My emotions are all over the place. This book contains Love, lies and deception at it's finest.

Meadow is invited to interview her sister's killer Vincent Mercier who is on death row, she has 72hrs to get the answers to the questions she needs for closure. Let me just say I fell in love with Vincent and cried for him.
Nothing and I mean NOTHING is what it seems.

There are so many twists you just don't see coming.

Meadow has her own secrets which come out during the interview. You will have a few WTF moments, while your heart is pounding, you will be on edge, while going on this heartbreaking journey that Lily has taken us on.

This is Phenomenal Read that I highly recommend.
