A good book for kids who are constantly on video games, it will make them think twice about constantly on video games.

Erebos by Ursula Poznanski will really appeal to my high school students. They like anything gaming and this one has a nice creepy element that pull them in.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to review this book.

I've read Erebos with my main goal being that I wanted to compare the English and original German version, which leads me first to say: Kudos to the translator!

The premise of the book is "a deadly, all-consuming game". Which made me assume fast-paced passages full of tension and angst, hence a quick read. - unfortunately I didn't get to the end (content wise) and had to put this book on hold. The passages of the main character in-game were too long and unnecessarily detailed that I eventually quit.

BUT I've heard great things about Erebos and am pretty sure it's just not my cup of tea instead of being a boring book or anything like that, so pleaaase read an excerpt and give it a chance!

With all of these massive online adventure games consuming our time, this book takes a nice stab at "what if".

When the game world intersects with the real world, crazy stuff can happen. Although my experience with a blended experiment hasn't been as interesting as what's portrayed in the novel.

Young teenagers would enjoy this book. It speaks a language they are probably very familiar with and can feel right at home.

It is also a page-turner. You'll want to know what is going on with this game and what is the end game?

The characters aren't too deep but then you aren't looking for that in this kind of book as it's a fun, adventure story with hidden tricks up its sleeve.
