I couldn't quite get into this book. I tried several times and just couldn't find myself connecting with any of the characters.

In Bed with the Beast was an enjoyable read.
It has family drama, sexy moments, factual information at random and unique times, hope, change and even finding yourself.
Trust me, you will fall in love with the hero in this story. He's hot, sexy, brooding and clearly has eyes only for this lady.... but does she know that?

And then there's her...... total book nerd, factual informant, stepping out of her comfort zone and let's say not finding much hope for ever finding that happily ever after....

These two are funny, cute, sweet and I enjoyed their interactions immensely.

4 stars from me!

The story of Beauty and the Beast is one of my all time favorites. I mean how can you not love the premise of the book nerd finding love with the Beast who ends up being a prince? However, I just couldn't get into the characters of this retelling of the classic fairy tale. Perhaps it was because Belle and her friends, Cindi and Ariel, just came across as extremely immature. The shy and awkward librarian trope can totally work in a romance but for some reason in this instance I couldn't make it work and ended up not finishing the book.

3.5 stars.

This is a cute read that was easy and enjoyable, if a little far-fetched. The fairytale sprinkling is heavily Disney-influenced, but on the whole it’s fluffy fun.

However, it’s also pretty juvenile. Belle may be twenty five and running the library by herself, but she’s led a very sheltered life and isn’t particularly mature in either her thinking or her behaviour. Some will find her cute and possibly endearing, others may well be annoyed beyond reason. My own feelings fell somewhere between the two. A lot of the time she amused me – I liked her random facts – but sometimes she also left me cringing. Particularly when she threw tantrums at Vincent’s house, storming about and acting like he’s this awful monster for saving her from homelessness. Or pretty much any scene between her and her friends. Or her father. He’s awful.

Beast/Vincent was better, but mostly because he doesn’t say much. He looms and broods and swoops in to save our damsel (if you can overlook the hints of stalker behaviour). There are attempts to make him seem much more than he is, but really, his character didn’t fit. He didn’t seem like a beastly bouncer most of the time, and the whole lover-of-books wasn’t quite right either. But that might be because Belle is pretty shallow and doesn’t put much effort into exploring his character. In fact she’s pretty horrible to him most of the time.

The heavy Disney influence on the fairytale stuff was also disappointing. Don’t get me wrong, I grew up with Disney too, but they are not the definitive versions of any fairytale, and there’s a lot more that could be explored if you ventured away from Belle’s books and the old yellow dress. Sure, it’s nice not to have the whole Stockholm Syndrome issue, but the “curse” in this tale might have benefited from a little more foreshadowing than a single, quickly forgotten about phone call.

Which makes it sound like I didn’t like this, which isn’t true. I found it light and mostly fun, if completely unbelievable on any level – not the stripping, moving in with Vincent, the way she’s trying to save the library, her father’s behaviour, her weird friends or even Vincent himself. But this isn’t a book based on deep thought or anything other than simple enjoyment. If you like a lot of disbelief with your fairy tales, plenty of silly humour and some smutty jokes, all wrapped up in a cute and fluffy contemporary, then this may be for you. I liked it enough to finish, and maybe even pick up another book by this author. However, it probably won’t be the next one, since I have no interest in a Disney-heavy Little Mermaid retelling if it doesn’t have octopus Ursula and Howard Ashman’s lyrics.

I am a big fan of Tara Sivec, I’m also a big fan of Beauty and The Beast—it’s actually my favorite fairytale—so you can probably imagine how excited I was when I found out Tara was coming out with a book inspired by Beauty and The Beast. I was beyond thrilled. And it unfortunately did not live up to my expectations.

When I think of Beauty and The Beast I imagine a cute and very swoon worthy story. That’s how I imagined IN BED WITH THE BEAST but with the classic Tara Sivec touch, with a lot jokes and funny moments. Only… the jokes and funny moments didn’t do it for me this time. It was a little too immature and silly for me but I think my mood played a huge part on my overall experience reading this book so please take this with a grain of salt.

I also wasn’t a fan of Belle’s character. I always see Belle (from Beauty and The Beast) as this brilliant, mature, a bit shy, fierce and introverted woman but this Belle (from In Bed With the Beast) wasn’t like that at all or at least she wasn’t like that in my eyes. She was way too immature and if I’m being honest, a pain in my butt.

Here’s something I loved that I wouldn’t have changed for the world. I loved the second half of the book. It was all romance and a bit of fun. Vincent (the “Beast” in this book) made me swoon extra hard towards the end and he honestly couldn’t have been more perfect. I’m sure a lot (if not all of you) are going to love him too.

Even though this book let me down a bit, I still think y’all should give it a chance. Like I said, when I started reading this book I really wasn’t in the mood for a light read and I think that’s the reason I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I wanted to but Tara Sivec is a fantastic author and I cannot recommend her books enough, they always put me in a better mood (except this time apparently).

I am just loving this series by Tara Sivec. This contemporary fun retelling of the Disney princesses is awesome. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite so I was really really excited for In Bed with the Beast. And I was not disappointed. Belle and Vincent(Beast) were great. Their interactions and banter were fun and cute. I loved seeing their relationship progressed as the story went out. They brought out the best in each other. They were sizzling and delightful. I was captivated by these two. The relationship between Belle and Beast weren’t the only thing that made me love the book. Cindy and Ariel were a riot. They made the book that much more entertaining. They had me cracking up every time they made an appearance especially that Ariel. I love the friendship between the three women. It’s natural and real and fun. This was an awesome story and I enjoyed it from beginning to end. It was passionate and engaging. I’m excited for Ariel and Eric’s story. Whenever those two are together, it is explosive. There is so much more than what we’ve gotten a glimpse of so I can’t wait. Overall, In Bed with the Beast is fantastic read!

I gotta admit. These books are just pure fluffy fun. I love em. I'm not even crazy about the story of "Beauty and the Beast" and I still had a really good time with this one.

We met Belle back in book one of this series At the Stroke of Midnight. She is the nerdy, bookwormish character who spouts out random facts and lives in her father's basement. She and her father have an argument over her new friends. (Friends that have started a naughty princess stripping business) and he kicks her out. She is staying at her library and sleeping on the hard floor. But Belle loves her books so she gives no craps.

Until she finds out that her library might close it's doors. She agrees to move in with sexy dude from the strip club that everyone calls Beast. He can help her develop her sexy times and she can save the money. She needs to be able to work up the nerve to start stripping.
Because....

She wants her happily ever after because Belle believes in the magic that she reads in romance novels.

Okay..so yes, the book is pretty sugary sweet. It's also pretty funny in spots. The take on Mrs. Potts is frigging awesomeness.

Tara Sivec based her story on Beauty and the Beast, but in my opinion, she made it her own. It lost some enchanting factor in the process, and it’s more a story about personal growth than a fairytale retelling. I really liked the way the characters change from beginning to end. I found myself caring for the two main characters very quickly and found them to be very interesting and dynamic.

Belle runs a library that is on the verge of shutting down and still lives with her overprotective father. She is a shy wallflower, who does nothing but read. And yet, she desperately wants to get some experience with men.

Vincent is a bit of a caveman, rude, standoffish and rough. He keeps coming at the library, making sure Belle is safe. When Belle’s father kicks her out of the house, Vincent offers her a place to stay. Despite his overbearing behavior, Vincent is sweet and Belle trusts him instinctively. Vincent wasn’t the typical beast. There was nothing about being a beast on the inside or having to become a better person. He is a genuinely nice guy, he also has a kind heart. I liked seeing his softer and protective side where Belle was concerned.

Belle is complex, and carries a lot of weight emotionally. Her insecurities are always there. I liked the way Belle and Vincent opened up to each other and they were able to understand each other. They made a really sweet couple.

Tara Sivec has done an excellent job of creating an entertaining and original story, I would have enjoyed more emotional development though, to make me feel more invested and connected.

A big thank you to NetGalley and St Martin 's Press/Swerve for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I think this is my 2nd book that I have read by this author. This book made me laugh! I loved Isabelle's fact spouting. This is a nice romance. I gave it a 4.

In Bed with the Beast by Tara Sivec is such a good read.
I laughed, I smiled, I swooned and I fell in love with Vincent and Belle.
The storyline is well written, the pacing spot on and the drama just enough to keep you turning the pages.

Overall, In Bed with the Beast is a wonderful addition to the Naughty Princess Club series, each book can be read as a standalone and I highly recommend them.

Loved it!! Completely different from anything I have read. I'm not a huge fan of princesses but I do love Belle. She is my favorite princess so I had to read this book. I loved the plot it ran so smoothly. I also didn't see the twist coming. Also, you should never lie because the truth always comes out.

I’m rounding up to 4 Stars, but I’m giving this book 3.5

I liked In Bed With the Beast, it was funny and quirky and I tend to like those things in a book. But there were a few things I found annoying and a little unbelievable. I know it’s a book, but there were just a couple of things that got on my nerves about the way the characters acted in the book. I tend to be a bit picky about these types of things so most people will probably love this book because it is quite funny. And don’t get me wrong, I did like it,, but only enough to give it 3.5 Stars.

"—He makes me tingle and resembles a rude knight in shining armor."

If you are looking for a good book to give you a giggle, you can't lose with In Bed with the Beast. I guarantee that you will adore all three of the sweet, sassy and sexy ladies in The Naughty Princess Club. Belle was especially fun because she's the innocent book nerd who works at a library. Who is more perfect to soften the heart of a grumpy beast?

When I first met Belle and Beast while reading At the Stroke of Midnight he was the lucky recipient of her first-ever angry outburst. The shy, quiet, timid librarian let it fly and set him straight. That was my first inkling that those two might be perfect for each other and I was excited at the possibility as I started mentally matchmaking. When I took a sneak peek on Goodreads at the title of the next book in the series I didn't even have to read the synopsis to know what was coming. Yup, I felt the sparks, even then.

While I was sad for Belle when her overprotective father kicked her out, I was also thinking to myself that it was about damn time she grew up and spread her wings. I mean really, she's twenty-five years old. Not that I'm judging her, I too was a book nerd that spent hours and hours alone reading when everyone else was out partying. But I wanted her to experience all the things she and I both missed out on. Somebody needs to experience the fairy tale, right?

While I can't tell you too much, because it's not my secret to tell, but I admit that I was surprised by the Beast. While I knew he was a man of few words, and those were usually growled rather than spoken, I wasn't expecting what I eventually learned about him. Isn't it awesome when that happens?

I really enjoyed watching Belle come out of her shell and the transformation of both her and Beast. As she got stronger he became more gentle, but only towards her. I could hear the "softness in his raspy voice" when he told her "you're so weird." And those girls...I laughed my ass off at their antics and banter, especially Ariel. I can see why the author saved her for last, that book's gonna be a doozy and I can't wait. The line forms here...

I love Tara Sivec’s books, but this one just isn’t working for me. I may come back to it at a later date, but for now I have decided not to continue. I made it to 26%. I haven’t read At the Stroke of Midnight, and after this book, I have no desire to read it. Belle spouts off random facts when she’s nervous, and she’s nervous a lot. I found myself skimming the facts. The book could be a lot shorter without all the useless information. I find Ariel to be rather annoying. I feel no connection with any of the characters or story. I ended up skimming and decided I had enough.

Tara Silvec’s books keep you laughing out loud while also loving the romance between the characters no matter who they are. Belle and Vincent were two unforgettable characters who touch a chord in all of us, especially book lovers who identify well with Belle. We all want our happily ever after and if Belle can have it, maybe we can also!

This was my first time to read a romance by Tara Sivec and I enjoyed it a lot. In fact I read it straight through-start to finish. This book was well written and the characters were amazing. There were several places where I found myself laughing out loud. The author can make you picture what is happening in your mind. She puts you right there as a third friend. I received this book from NetGalley for an honest review and I'm glad I did for I have discovered a new romance author.

In Bed with the Beast by Tara Sivec is a beauty and the beast retelling that combines a grumpy bouncer, a stripping librarian, and more humor than you can imagine.

I loved fairy tale retellings, and the naughtier edge to this one had me intrigued! Belle is in a bit of a jam. Kicked out of her father’s basement, she doesn’t have anywhere to live and the city is threatening to close her library to top it off! She is also part of a company with her two friends, the Naughty Princess Club, where they dress as princesses and strip. Only Belle’s turn it up, and it just might be the ticket to finding her feet.

To say this story line is original is a gross understatement! How could I say no to that blurb?? Exactly. I couldn’t. This was filled to the brim with humor and even though it felt a bit overdone at times, I was enchanted by this cast of characters.

Then there’s our beast, Vincent. He starts coming into Belle’s library and though he’s grumpy and growly, there’s something about him that makes Belle want to be a little bad. But our beast has secrets that could keep him from his happily ever after.

I really liked how this was Belle’s story, first and foremost. She’s growing up, looking to live out loud, all the while taking chances and Beast is the man caught in her web. Prepare to be entertained! I’m excited to see what the third installment in the series will bring about.

4 stars!

I have loved some of this author's other books but this one unfortunately fell a little flat for me. Belle is awkward, shy and borderline virginal, so her friendship with the outspoken over the top Ariel and outgoing Cindy is amusing. They are drawing her out of her shell and she is rejoicing in the fact that she finally has some real friends other than the fictional characters she adores so much, but the fact that Belle is trying to become a stripper to save her beloved library was a bit out there for me. Add in that I never really felt the connection between her and Beast and I found myself skimming through parts to get to the end. All in all, just an OK read for me

As is my way, I requested this book without realising it was the second in a series. In fact I didn’t really realise until I was a little way into it and figured that Cindy and PJ must’ve been the topic of a previous book. However there was enough info in this one for me not to feel lost, as it was recapped how the Naughty Princesses began and where they were at in their journey.

Belle works at the local library, which is struggling. So much so that they get a paltry few new books a month and Belle dreams of the days where she used to open up boxes and boxes of books. As well as her professional life being a struggle, her personal life is no better. She still lives at home, in the basement of her very overprotective father’s house and still has a curfew. When she gets herself kicked out, Belle is too polite to tell her friends, dossing down in the library until she is rescued by the ‘Beast’ – PJ’s enforcer/doorman at his club. He’s a man of few words, an intimidating presence but Belle isn’t afraid of him. In fact in their two previous encounters, she’s boldly stood up to him, something she generally doesn’t ever do.

Belle and the Beast, aka Vincent Adams, are definitely opposites. Belle is quite young and has led a very sheltered life. She’s a bit naive and until meeting the other naughty princesses, didn’t seem to have many close fiends. She spouts random facts when she’s uncomfortable or nervous and can be awkward in social situations. Beast is a tank, a man of few words with a gruff and taciturn exterior and most people are incredibly intimidated by him. Despite that outward persona, Beast has a good heart and a generous streak and it’s clear he does want to help Belle, despite the fact that he’s a bit secretive with a potential ulterior motive.

I really enjoy the stripper side of this book – all three of the naughty princesses are learning the craft. Cindy (from book #1) is their only party performer so far, having mastered her routine and it’s Belle’s turn in this book. She spends a lot of time in her head but has to learn to let go and embrace another side of herself. What I also really like is that the men don’t want to change them. PJ accompanies Cindy on her gigs (actually it kind of turns him on to do so) but he doesn’t want her to do something else. Beast agrees to help Belle become more confident with her sexual side, teach her to flirt or at least interact with the opposite sex without being awkward and the two of them have good chemistry. It’s the sort where Belle can’t see his interest because she doesn’t know how to interpret the signs, but for the reader it’s quite obvious.

I loved this, it was just perfect for a fun, quick read with some good banter and a very different story. In fact as soon as I’d finished I went and bought the first book and read that too. I can’t wait for Ariel’s story – she and Eric have already had some moments, so should be good to see their story play out. I am really enjoying the connection to fairytales and seeing them in a modern day setting. I’m really glad I discovered this series – and author. I’ll be checking out her other books too.

9/10

This is my first book from Tara Sivec and it was quite the introduction and she now has a new fan. This is the second book in the Naughty Princess Club and Tara has delivered a brilliant book filled with humour and fun. I am certainly going to be checking out the first book in the series and eagerly anticipate the next book.

I absolutely loved Belle, the shy librarian, she was so sweet and naïve after living a sheltered life but she has a bit of sass to her. Soon as she meets Cindy and Ariel they help bring her out of her shell. Beast, the strip club bouncer, is the brooding alpha male type. They say opposites attract and they are not wrong with these two. The connection and chemistry between Belle and Beast is hot AF
