Rebel at Work was a practical handbook on how to influence change in the work place when others around you disagree. The introduction to the theory was a bit long and rambling, but once the book got going things were much more interesting.

Surprisingly insightful and helpful book on how to initiate change at work when you are not "the boss," using psychology, personality types, group behavior, and real-world examples. Valuable lessons here.

A little long on the preamble, but once we got going I discovered support and validation for what I deal with at work, and strategies for succeeding despite the odds.

Finally, a business book that I can relate to! Rather than 'manage your manager' this book for frustrated workers focuses on what you can do/control. It expressed what I've felt for years as a middle-manager, and in general ""the effort you expend to hide your emotions at work can deplete your energy in a matter of minutes." The frustrations of working with RIPs "Retired in Place" were described perfectly. For someone who is undergoing frustration at work (everyone, right?), this is a great resource -- especially as a proof that you're not insane. There are other Rebels out there!
