It felt a little like a memoirish type of book and maybe a call to action. There were a few nuggets to dig out. But overall this wasn’t the book I thought it would be.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book.

This book is a great exploration of how we are born at this time to do specific work. The focus on character building, growing in grit, focusing on relationships and remembering who the work belongs to was so good. I needed this reminder of not making what I do all about me and how to remember what God has called me to today and how He called people before me and people after me. Justin included many excerpts from books that I have now added to my to read list. I highly recommend this book!

I found this book to be very uplifting and inspiring . Every chapter concentrated on a specific trait that will build integrity s d character as we walk in Christian life. Most of the chapters tie a true story to a Christian value. In this day and age it is very gratifying to realize that many others are also attempting to lead of life of moral integrity and honor. I would recommend this novel to all needing a possible reminder of what our life should look like.

The scripture verse is likely familiar to you, if you’ve been around church for a while. “For such a time as this….” But the truth is the context of this passage applies to one person and her call to reform the mindset of a king, in order to save her nation. For you and I, we have the story but we are missing the application. Made for these times allows us to see where this motivating word from millennia ago fits in our day and age.

Here’s what I take away from my time in the book: Justin Zoradi gives a well written explanation of calling in this regard, allowing others to see the truth of their specific situation and what can be done through them. In this, one can never overlook character (how many times I have preached that character and calling go hand in hand), as your character will either strengthen your calling or your lack of will deflate it. We must be cautious in who we are with what we are called to, competency is great but character keeps you in position.

I did enjoy reading the book, Jordan had some great walk through of scripture, made way to apply the passages and opened a conversation on works within faith (in my mind anyway). I’m not entirely sure the book will apply to everyone but I think it is worth the read for anyone who is exploring their calling or second guessing where they serve now.

One thing I would recommend as you read through this book, keep a journal of how you see your view of calling change. Chances are you will see some development within you, and new areas of calling may come to light.

**I received a free copy of this book from the publisher through Net Galley in return for an honest review. These are my personal thoughts.
