Another book in the story line of Savich and Sherlock, FBI agents. This is about a try at kidnapping their son Sean, a gold belt buckle with the Star of David on it and a serial killer with a split personality. You need to stay on your toes when reading so you know which story line you are at and which character is talking. It wasn't hard to follow, you just had to pay attention.

Also in the story line was a small town sheriff, another FBI agent and a woman who has a daughter who everyone thought was "slow". The daughter is connected to the belt buckle which, in turn, connects this group of characters to Savich and Sherlock. All of these story lines came together very nicely and it was a book that was hard to put down.

I loved this book! The FBI Series is one of my favorite series and this book is another hit! Savage and Sherlock are always finding themselves in a new thrilling mystery. This time they are startled when someone breaks in and tries to kidnap their son. Before the dust settles, they're needed for an investigation in Maryland. As always, there are many plot twists going on in this book and you can't put it down. Many times I tried to take a break at the end of a chapter, but either continued reading or had to hurry back to the book. Just couldn't put it down.

Oh man was this book GOOD!!!!!! Classic Savich and Sherlock and I loved the Police Chief Lead,. The whole premise with the murder and the bones in the lake and the creepy house. So good. So SO good. I think I will be re reading this book just to soak in what I might have missed the first time in my rush to see what happens next!

I love a great police procedural thriller. This one is high paced and a quick read! I loved every page of this book. Great plot development and mystery. A fun series and a great read. Thank you to Galley Book and NetGalley for my advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

Opening this book, it started off great! An attempted child abduction at the home of two FBI agents, a witness to a murderer who dumps a body in the body of Lake Massey, locating a man trapped in a closet who is left for dead...

And I'll admit, I've not read the twenty-one books in this series beforehand. So I am not familiar with most of the characters or the plot lines leading up to this book. But I was sadly disappointed by this book.

I really felt like the action was missing. Certain events did happen where there should have been thrilling emotions and reactions, but nothing super chilling or worthy of grabbing my attention.  There was a lot of redundancy regarding a belt buckle found in the lake, and the perpetrator and his girlfriend, but even those events and details felt lacking. I wasn't really gripped, nor did it make me want to read any of the other books in the series. Maybe I missed the boat on this one, but it ended up in my least favorite books.  However, I will give Catherine Coulter another try. She's a NY Times Best Selling Author. We all deserve second chances.

Paradox by Catherine Coulter is the twenty-second An FBI Thriller. I am new to the series, but I did not have any trouble thanks to the author providing the necessary background information. Paradox has an appealing opening that had me looking forward to reading more. It was thrilling and exciting with someone trying to kidnap Sean Savich and Chief Ty Christie observing a man being murdered. I was soon disappointed when the pacing started to lag and there were repetitive details that were totally unnecessary. The overly detailed descriptions also did not suit this story. We are introduced to numerous characters and are provided a backstory on each one (or so it seems). Paradox needed a faster pace and more action. I found the mystery to be predictable. The twists and turns were not unexpected. I was easily able to solve the mystery (that may have something to do with the hundreds of mysteries that I have read too). I wish the rest of the book had lived up to the first few chapters that had me riveted. While I wanted a little more oomph, others have enjoyed Paradox. Paradox is perfect to read on an airplane, on vacation or at the beach. I just wanted more thrills, chills and chases.

Catherine Coulter brings readers along on another FBI thriller. Always writing great plots, characters you care about and situations that keep you turning pages.

Agents Sherlock and Savich (FBI) are woken up by their alarm system and find someone over their child. Savich ends up shooting the intruder in the ankle but he gets away. Chief Ty Christie witnesses a murder from her porch on the lake that she lives on. So there are two storylines going on at the same time. When the FBI are called in to help out Chief Ty they find out that it was an attorney that was murdered and FBI specialist Sala Porto was found locked in a closet. The two storylines cross every once in a while but they are two different investigations. Normally I like Catherine Coulter books but this one had a lot of paranormal qualities. I don't know if that is exactly the right word. The book was ok, just not my 100% cup of tea. Received this book as an ARC for my honest review.

I love the FBI thriller series by Catherine Coulter. It is one of my favorite book series' I have ever picked up. I love that it is still continuing. I also love when we get to see glimpses of past characters in the new stories :) In Paradox we meet Ty Christie, a police chief who witnesses a murder... that leads to a lot of unanswered questions about other deaths. We also get to see how the good we think we see in people is sometimes not what it seems to be. The real villain of the story turned out to be someone I didn't expect due to the big build up throughout the story of how "beloved" this person was and what he meant to the community. It was a twist that the readers deserved.

I loved getting to read this one before it came out! I I purchased the audiobook once it came out and I have already listened to it multiple times!

In Catherine Coulter's Paradox, the twenty-second installment in the FBI thriller series, this chilling tale has some many twisted surprises that you would never see coming. It all started when someone tried to invade the Savich household and kidnap Lacey and Dillon Savich's son Sean. Back in Maine, Chief Ty Christie has witnessed a murder and discovered a pile of bones in the bottom of Lake Massey. While Dillon and Lacey go to a book festival, they remained on high alert for any new possible attempts. And before they could get a good look on him, he got away. He was someone from one of their past cases, someone who had murder and revenge on his mind. And when they found FBI Agent Sala Porto in the old Gatewood home in the closet, they learned something chilling when he heard voices. And during the funeral for Octavia Ryan, their past reared their ugly head when it exploded. When Leigh Ann "Gunny" Saks saw the news report about the "Star of David" belt buckle being found in the pile of bones on TV, someone struck her from behind, almost killing her. That leaves Ty and FBI Agent Sala wonder who would do such a thing and the mystery behind the belt buckle, while Sherlock and Sean put Sean into hiding and go after Victor Nesser, who's not all completely alone and his total whole self. While they worked both cases together, they connect the dots and tie up loose ends on who did what and why with a shocking ending that would blow you away.

How does a murder at dawn on a lake in Maryland and the thwarted kidnapping of a FBI agent's children have in common. Absolutely nothing except the two mysteries on the plate of the dynamic duo of Savich and Sherlock.

As a huge fan of Savich and Sherlock books this one kept up. You are introduced to some new agents along with having some agents from previous books make appearances. This story gives you a deeper look into Savich, Sherlock and their son Sean's life and how they live.

Probably my only challenge with this book was the play on Savich's extra senses seemed a bit forced. It is ok if that story isn't developed every book. Other then that a pleasure to read and reread.

Coulter has added to her FBI series featuring Savich and Sherlock with a mystery that will make people questioning ‘who done it’ right up till the end. Coulter did a masterful job integrating new and old mysteries with memorable characters and plot. The reader won’t know who to believe or suspect until all the pieces start coming together, and even then, there will be questions and possibilities still up for consideration. There are hints of romance too but it is not as prevalent as in her other books in the series. Though Paradox can work as a stand alone book, I think readers will find it flows better if they read other books in the series first..

Ahhhh I forgot just how much I enjoy Agents Sherlock and Savich! Picking up the latest installment in the FBI Thriller series, I was happy to see it revolved around them. Though it's #22 in a series, you can easily read this one as a standalone. Do you lose just a bit without having the background? Sure, but it's pretty minimal with this one.

The agents discover someone trying to break into their home and either trying to kidnap their child or harm him while in another location, Chief Ty Christie witnesses a murder while on the back deck of her house. They'll soon find out that their cases are tied together. They're each looking for the same man.

Let me get this out of the way first. Bespoke, in the space of about 20 pages, the author uses the word no less than about 6 times. And I wasn't even sure it was always used in the proper context (ok, I stand corrected, I just googled it, apparently it's a nice suit AND past tense for bespeak) Regardless, she used it both ways multiple times and it was distracting.

That out of the way, the story was intriguing and I adored the characters. I always appreciate a hint of paranormal and while there's some alluding to some hard to explain behaviors, I would have enjoyed more. Still, it's an engaging story and kept me turning the pages. Thank you Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Paradox is a FBI Thriller that takes place at Lake Massey, Maryland.

This thriller packs plenty of action.

There were many references to past cases, sometimes providing too much unnecessary backstory. The author seems to be trying to fill in the reader on past books, which wasn't necessary to flesh out the characters or move the story along.

There were plenty of twists and turns throughout the book to keep any reader entertained.

I really enjoyed this book and had trouble putting it down. I like that the author has two cases running at the same time as it gives me time with Savich and Sherlock, who worked the case of an old adversary, plus time with with a new FBI agent and police chief, who worked the serial killer case. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from NetGalley.

It was nice to have Sherlock and Savich as the main characters again. This was a nice easy read, with a decent storyline.

Paradox is the 22nd installment of the bestselling FBI series by Catherine Coulter. Willicot, Maryland police chief, Ty Christie is out on her deck early morning and witnesses a murder. She he calls the divers in to find the murder victim, and when they do, they also find bones that have been in the water as well as a belt buckle that may lead to the identification of those bones and hopefully to who is responsible for the bones being in the water and the identities of those who the bones belong to. Christie is worried, of course, that there is a psychopath living in this small community, and that there may be more murders to come.

Readers who are familiar with Catherine Coulter’s FBI series, will want to pick this one up as soon as possible. The regular characters are there, as well as a great story, full of suspense and intrigue. Coulter has a unique writing style – her characters are well-developed and, while there are new ones in each book, the old ones appear to make readers feel a familiarity with them and also feel that they are old friends. Few authors are able to do this, especially in 22 installments, but Coulter seems to pull it off.

The suspense begins in the first chapter, and doesn’t end until the very end of the last chapter. There are twists and turns, a bit of romance, and surprises throughout in Coulter’s very distinct style. Some of the scenarios will put readers on the edge, and they won’t be able to put the novel down.

Fans of the FBI series will love this novel. Although the novel is suitable for first-time readers of the series, it is recommended that readers read the previous novels to familiarize themselves with the characters; this will make the novel more enjoyable. Of course, this novel is highly recommended; Catherine Coulter is a prolific writer, but her novels are well-done and definitely worth reading.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.

Have loved Coulter as a great mystery, high interest author for years. Paradox was good read, but not outstanding. A little disappointed. Looking forward to her next book, with high hopes for an exciting adventure.

Another great novel from Catherine Coulter. When a killer that Savich and Sherlock put away years ago escapes prison, he seeks revenge. Along the way he nearly takes out one of their team members, kicking of a separate investigation into bodies found in a lake. Both plot lines converge in a series of twists, making for an enjoyable read.
