Stacey Kennedy is a new to me author and this book of finding love in the most unexpected place is a perfect intorduction to her storytelling. Emma and Shep are both in Colorado for different reasons... Emma to lick her wounds from a recent breakup as well as taking over the small farm her beloved Grams left her. Shep is also in this small town after losing his father, but his intention is to get back to his adventure company and not taking over the cattle ranch his father left him... but things rapidly change for both our H/h when they're at Kinky Spurs one night... Emma slinging the drinks and Shep to release some stress.

There's an immediate draw between these two and when they're paired up at the bar for a game, their chemistry is sizlling off the pages!! While getting involved with each other is the last thing either of them should be doing, sometimes, taking a step to some pleasure will lead to the ultimate healing.

I loved how these two grew their friendship and the love neither was looking for. But there's something about this small town that is rejuvinating and eye opening in that what's right in front of you is exactly who and what you need right now!!

I'll definitely be reading the other books in this series because I'm a sucker for small town romances with sexy cowboys!

A lovely book about healing broken hearts and broken dreams. Emma and Shep's chemistry is instant and off-the-charts. I enjoyed their journey to fix the problems in their lives and discovery that everything is better with someone to share your dreams and problems with,

Thoroughly enjoyed this! I liked Shep and Emma. Watching her learn to trust again was sweet. And Shep was fantastic. He was sweet and alpha and HOT. I am looking forward to the next book.

Copy kindly received via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Not feeling this one right now. Seems like an alright idea for a storyline, but a bit too much insta everything for me at the start, and I'm just not really interested, so I put it down.

This was a very enjoyable book. I loved the hero. It had some interesting side characters. A strong, sexy and promising start to the series and having being introduced to the hero's younger brothers I‘m excited to see what their stories will bring.

I actually loved Dirty-Talking Cowboy. Stacey Kennedy knows just how to write dirty-sexy-romances and Shep and Emma's story is no different. Emma Monroe used to love her summers in River Rock, Colorado. Her times with her grandmother were always happy ones. Now that she inherited her grandma's farm, she's taken over caring for the abused animals her grandma could never send away. But with so many hungry mouths to feed, she needs to work to help pay the bills. It is as a waitress at the local hotspot, Kinky Spurs that she meets Shep Blackshaw, a dirty-talking cowboy who knows just how to rope a woman. And how to tame a horse. Shep is in way over his head. Finding out that his father's legacy is about to go bankrupt has pulled the rug from under all the Blackshaws. Doing his best to guide his late father’s cattle ranch, Blackshaw Cattle Company, from foreclosure, he needs focus. But the way Emma reacts to him, makes him go back for more over and over again. Soon, he is helping her save her animals and heal her heart during the day while heating their sheets during the night. Emma wasn't looking for love, but with every night in Shep's arms, she finds herself loving the man and the life she's building at the farm. Then the past comes back to haunt Emma, tempers will rise and love will have to conquer fate... once and for all. A really hot cowboy romance, with a smart as a whip heroine and a sexy as hell alpha hero. Can't possibly go wrong there...

Sadly I think this will be the last book that I read by this author. Not sure what is happening but after her Club Sin series was over I feel like she just never got the mojo back. The characters just fall flat and I don't feel the connection between the main characters. The love scenes fell tired and writing rushed. Only made it to about 80% on this one before throwing in the towel.

I am a fan of Stacey Kennedy so I usually one click all her books. I normally don't read many cowboy books, but I am glad I gave Stacey's a shot!

Emma is a marketing exec from New York. When her grandma passes, she feels lost. She decides to visit her newly inherited farm to figure out her next move. She wasnt expecting to meet a hot cowboy.

Shep is trying to save his family's cattle ranch from foreclosure. He should be focused on that and not the sweet little Emma and what she might sound like under him! He just can't ignore the magnetic pull he feels around her. Soon their nights are as therapeutic as much as the sex is hot! They both feel awake when they are together. Does Emma have to leave? Can they find a way to make everything work?

I devoured this story! I loved the characters and all the secondary ones as well. Shep and Emma have some serious chemistry! I was rooting for them to find a way to get it all figured out!

I thought it was about kinky related book. But it was not as kinky as i thought it would be.

Emma was back in River Rock Colorado after her funeral. Her beloved grandmother left her the ranch where she took care of abused animals. She always loved being in her ranch when she was growing up and she couldn’t just sell it plus her relationship blew up in New York. She worked so hard to get to where she was in marketing but having a secret relationship with her boss ruined her reputation and most importantly he didn’t defend her in front of his colleague.
While she was taking care of ranch, she was working in Kinky Spurs, local bar and she meets gorgeous cowboy Shep Blackshaw. He has been asking her out for couple of times but she refused until he rescued her from her crazy horse.
Ever since the horse accident Shep has been taking care of Emma and sparks flying between them.
Shep has enough on his mind with his father’s Cattle company and it is not a simple solution but when he is with Emma all his troubles goes away from his mind.
Shep defiantly keeps things hot in the bedroom and their relationship is moving forward except Emma’s not sure if she could love another person.

It was exciting read from beginning to end. All the characters were fun and interesting. I can’t wait to read about his brothers.
Thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for my ARC in exchange for honest review.

Holy smoking-sexy-as-hell cowboys!
Stacey Kennedy has been a favorite erotic author of mine for a while, with a varied story subgenre that keeps me guessing, but I can honestly say that her sexy cowboys are now my favorites. While they care the same sexy alpha natures has some of her previous dominates there is just that little bit extra ruggedness that draws my interest being that I’m a little bit wild and country myself. I would love to find myself a sexy cowboy willing to try to tame my heart like Shep did for Emma. But while Ms. Kennedy certainly strives to make her stories intensely sexual and passionately intriguing there is a depth of heart that is undeniable to her writing which really brings reader back again and again, and Emma and Shep’s story is no less so. Emma has run from her life in New York City after a bastard broke her heart and betrayed her trust, licking her wounds and letting herself heal while trying to decide if and when she will return to that life. She doesn’t want any man in her life anymore, but she can’t resist the intense pull she feels toward Shep Blackshaw, a man with his own problems in life, but that is willing to drop everything to come to her rescue when she is almost killed. His strength and kindness are tempered by the heat and intensity that he projects every moment of his existence, but when he looks her way he lights her entire body on fire. Shep doesn’t have time in his life right now for a woman, but the enticing Emma Monroe is not someone that he can resist and when he finds himself alone with her again and again there is no way he can stop himself from reaching out and grabbing what neither of them can deny they want from the other. But as they spend more and more time together, each determined to keep it just physical, the deepening connection is nothing compared to the emotional upheaval that will come when Emma’s past comes back to haunt her and remind her that she can’t hide from it forever. A woman determined to hide and a man determined to bring her out of hiding… what could possibly go wrong?!? I LOVED every second of this story, even when I was crying at some of the more intense moments, but the chemistry and compatibility between Shep and Emma was just too perfect to be denied. While I wondered at times why Emma didn’t just grab the wonderful man in front of her and make him hers immediately I can understand her initial fears I suppose, but after she got to know him better I wanted to ask her what the hell was stopping her more than once. Shep similarly turned a blind eye to the treasure in front of him a few too many times for me, but thankfully he stepped up and showed Emma she was the woman he wanted more than any other in time for her to make the right decision for everyone involved. I enjoyed the ending of this story and am looking forward to what comes next in the series and to seeing what Shep, Emma and his family do with their new join business venture. (Wink wink) Ms. Kennedy strikes gold again with her sexy cowboys and their sensually dominate personalities and of course there’s nothing wrong with a little bit of rope thrown in for a good time!

4.5 stars

LOVED the back story of this book. It's got a fish-out-of-water feel to it when a big city marketing girl moves to the country to take over her beloved grandmother's farm of abused animals and falls in love with one of the town's hottest cowboys.

Luckily, he is one of three brothers, so I'm already looking forward to more Kinky Spurs books!

Emma is trying to embrace her new life. After one defining moment she moves back to River Rock and begins taking care of the abused animals her grandmother once had. Assuming her role is a huge undertaking since she still doesn’t understand all the ins and outs. Meeting Shep was just what she needed. His strength and guidance would soothe the battered ends of her soul. Learning to trust again would take time but he would stay by her side each and every step.

Stacey Kennedy will suck you into the world she created. I had a hard time putting this book down. Very enjoyable romance with a hot alpha male.
Emma's gramma dies and she uses this as an escape from here life. Step sees Emma at Kinky Spurs and can't take his eyes off of her. When an accident happens, Shep saves Emma. Will Emma let him in?
The writing is fantastic and it's told in both Emma and Shep' s POV.

3.5-4 stars...
I’m a HUGE Stacey Kennedy fan, so I was really excited about this new series! The first book in the Kinky Spurs series introduces us to familiar characters, Shep Blackshaw, and Emma Monroe. Emma returns to small-town Colorado after her grandmother passes away and leaves her the farm. Emma is the city girl; she’s used to the hustle and bustle of New York City. After her relationship ends, and throws her career in the wind, settling back in River Rock seems like it just might be meant to be. As she’s tending bar at the local bar, and also working on the farm her grandmother had (housing abused animals), Emma is intrigued by the handsome cowboy Shep Blackshaw.
Shep isn’t one to frequent bars, but after seeing Emma tending bar, he just might become a regular. He’s intrigued by her, is away if who she is, as it is a small town, and everyone knew Daisy Monroe’s granddaughter has moved in. Shep runs his own business, but is also struggling with the family business now that his father passed away. As he tries digging his family out of the bankruptcy hole, Emma and her ideas may be the savior they need.
Emma and Shep work well tougher, even though they tend to come from different worlds. I struggled picturing what the characters looked like, and parts were a bit sluggish. The story still packed the emotions and punch that I love about Kennedy’s writing. Great intro to the series, and I look forward to reading about the rest of the Blackshaw brothers!

Stacey Kennedy's newest series is off to a good start. I probably would rank this book closer to a 3.5 because there is an imbalance between the series launch info and the story of Emma and Shep. The story suffered a bit from a lack of character development. Emma and Shep didnt hold my interest in their happily ever after. I am however, intrigued by the stories to come, as the secondary characters are quite compelling. Dirty Talking Cowboy is a light sexy read, and I will definitely continue the series, as I enjoy Stacey Kennedy's stories and characters.
