Holly and Alex have been married for 15 years and last Christmas Holly discovered some sexy flirty texts on Alex's phone. Holly confronts him, but he says that it is a client of his that has taken things a little too far and that it is nothing to worry about. That doesn't stop Holly thinking about it though. She works as a dental assistant in her husband's dental surgery and when a beautiful client of his starts flirting with her husband, Holly starts to wonder if she was the sexy text sender. Then Holly finds out that her best friend Jeanie is having an affair with a married man, and Jeanie will not tell her the name of the man. Holly begins to do some detective work to get to the bottom of it all. In the end will she be able to get over what her husband did?

This book is flat out 5 star hilarious. A couple of times I actually burst out laughing as some of the things Holly does or says is just flat out funny. Enter her brother Simon, as camp as they can come and laugh out loud funny. He really livens up the book and I really enjoyed his character. I loved how Holly was attracted to her once dorky geeky friend who has grown into a very handsome man. This causes Holly to get hot and flustered whenever he is in the room, which causes some funny and uncomfortable situations for Holly. There are a couple of times during the book where I was thinking, perhaps Alex really isn't having an affair at all, and then I would be thinking oh hang on a minute. Suffice to say I was more than once changing my mind. There is a little clue during the book that will be a dead give away towards the end, when I said 'uh-huh!'

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the book and highly recommend it for anyone that loves a good laugh. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to the Author and the publisher for the copy of the book.

There have been fifteen years of relatively happy marriage between Holly and Alex. Her bubble is burst when she accidently happens upon a series of sexts aimed at Alex. He convincingly tells her that it was all a misunderstanding. She believes him, albeit reluctantly. Inevitably, Holly has reasons for doubt yet again.

Hoping this to be the laugh out loud book it was purported to be, I was rather disappointed on many levels. The humor did not reach me at all. In part, due to factors like her relationship with her best friends. Also, while there was sort of a happy ending, it was completely not what I was expecting. Unfortunately, I had difficulty in staying present when reading this book.

Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review.

It was an alright light read. I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would based on the premise. It was a bit of a odd read

Not sure why the book is labeled as a laugh out loud story, as I did little of that, but I did enjoy the book. Holly is unsure what is going on with her husband Alex, and keeps seeing at least two women throwing themselves at him all the time. Of course he denies it, but he also gets angry and doesn't really resolve the issue either. Holly also has her two best friends Caro and Jeanie, who are also having issues, especially Jeanie. Throw in kids and others and there are a lot of surrounding characters to watch. Of course it doesn't help that Alex is being unfaithful, but not by who she thinks he is with. Good writing and good characters, but not really a funny story. Would still recommend this book and author.

This isnt the type of book Inwould normally reach for, but I found it charming. Very cute, laugh out loud funny, and touching at moments. I'd definitely recommend it for readers who like "chick-lit" type books. I can't wait to read the next book from this author.

Review: An amazing read. I am glad that I had the opportunity to read this book as it had so much going for it. Brilliant writing, an amazing plot and characters. The pagers seemed to turn themselves. I was surprised as I read each chapter and was sad when it ended.  Will be reading more from this author.

I absolutely loved this book. Having read all of Debbie Viggiano's previous books I had high hopes for it and it truly delivered.

The characters in the book are larger than life at times, sometimes funny and sometimes infuriating, just what you need to keep the interest levels up. I particularly loved Simon (funny) and Jack (delicious mental images).

I'm already looking forward to the next book by this author. Escapism at its very best.

It's not eays to be funny, but this author certainly knows how to make you laugh.
The book is full of humour and makes you realize that even if you have known people for several years, you might not know them as well as you thought you did. Life is full of surprises, but not all of them are good ones.
Who is sending those texts to Holly's husband? Come and join Holly on her journey towards the truth. Fasten your seatbelts, because it surely is a bumpy road.
No worries, because there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and Holly, well, you simply have to love her.
Thank you Debbie Viggiano, Bookouture and Netgalley.

Holly Hart has been married for 15 years to Alex.  She has the perfect marriage, although according to her best friends, Jeanie and Caro, Holly is lacking in quantity in the bedroom department.  Embarrassed to find that her friends think this, Holly makes up that her and Alex have super red-hot sex more times that you can shake a stick at….but it does get her thinking that her sex life has diminished recently, if it was even there at all.  To top it all, on Christmas Day Holly finds flirty texts on her husband’s phone.  Whilst he has a perfectly reasonable explanation, Holly can’t help but get it into her head that Alex is having an affair…..she just can’t work out who with!

This is my first book by this author, and after reading it I’m thinking ‘why have I never read any of her books before!’  Be warned though, it does have a lot of references to sex and some mild bad language, so if that’s not your thing then it might not be for you.

The first chapter had me laughing so much that I thought it would be impossible to keep this up all the way through the book.  But…it does!!  The book continues on a fast and very humorous pace all the way through.  Even with the subject of being unfaithful, the author manages to keep the humour up whilst handling it heart-warmingly and sensitively!

Holly’s character, I think, is absolutely fabulous!  I do feel sorry for her when she reads the flirty texts as no woman would want to find proof of her husband’s affair, particularly on Christmas Day!  She seems to handle the situation quite well, but does go slightly off the rails from there on seeing every woman as her husband’s anonymous mistress with very funny consequences!

This was such a wonderful and cleverly written book!  I have honestly laughed my way through it from start to end!  But it’s not all fun and laughs, it also has a lovely warming undertone to the story of love, family and friendships!  I will definitely be finding more books by this author, because if they are anything like this one they will be well worth reading!

Fab!

Debbie Viggianio's 'What Holly's Husband Did' is tipped as a hilariously funny book which will make you laugh until you cry. I've got to start by saying that is definitely not what I experienced here; although I do enjoy a good chick lit, this was definitely not hilariously funny.

The premise is that Holly is married to Alex, and has been for 15 years, and we quickly learn that she suspects him of an affair, leaving Holly suspicious and accusing everyone around her. The story is predictable in places (which I don't mind with a book such as this), but I found the level of the writing to be fairly basic and it didn't really grip me. It was a very easy read and suited me just fine to whizz through in a few hours on the beach, but otherwise I wouldn't have given this a look.

Solid chick lit…doesn’t take itself too seriously! You’ll laugh, cry, and say “Oh! No!” Definitely a fun weekend read :c)

This was a really fun, charming novel by an author I had never read before! I will admit, I was drawn to the title. Can you blame me? I wanted to know what he did?! Anyway . . . I really enjoyed this book for the light, fun reading it offered. Recommended, especially as a holiday read!

I have read every book of Debbie's and loved them all. I think this one is slightly more serious than her previous ones but all the same just as good. Holly and Alex have been married 15years. When she becomes very suspicious that her husband is having an affair. A couple suspects are one of her best friends or one of Adam's work colleagues who seems a bit too keen to stay beside Alex. Alex is an unlikeable character especially towards Holly. Most of the fun elements of the story come from Holly and her brother. A great read

I truly enjoyed Debbie Viggiano writing style. It is a fresh approach you do not see every day with intriguing twists on classic stories and poems. She brings them to life with her talent weaving layers of mystery, suspense and romance.

I absolutely loved this book. I thought I had it figured out, but each chapter ended with a cliffhanger. I could not put this down.

Holly and Alex have been married for 15 years. She then finds disturbing texts on her husband’s phone and suspects he is having an affair. Holly confronts Alex, in which he denies he is.

This is a laugh out loud witty novel. I highly recommend.

I like the authors that were referenced in the "if you like so and so" section of the book description, but really did not like this story at all. I couldn't feel it. I couldn't get lost in it. It was just....tripe.

What Holly’s Husband Did by Debbie Viggiano is another example of an author taking a tough subject and turning it into something fun. The entire book is one woman’s struggles with trust and suspicion of infidelity but it will still have a reader laughing out loud many times.

Holly Hart and her husband Alex have been married for fifteen years and have a thirteen year old daughter together that has just hit the teen rebellion stage. On the outside they could be seen as the perfect family but on the inside things aren’t so great for the couple.

The previous Christmas had Holly frantic and sending Alex to the store for milk when he left his phone lying in the kitchen. The phone beeps and Holly glances at it seeing some very naughty texts her husband’s way. When Alex returns he has a perfectly reasonable explanation but Holly just can’t get it out of her mind. With Alex’s fortieth birthday approaching Holly goes to the extremes to bring the spark back into their marriage and find out just what is going on with them.

I love that the author was able to take something so serious and turn it into something a bit more fun. All of the characters in here were done rather nicely making them just jump from the pages and the author certainly answered my love of having quirky characters that stand out. I have to admit to the rare occasion of thinking oh just leave the jerk but then she would bring the laughs to the story yet again lightening it up and then giving a huge twist at the end that one wouldn’t expect.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

OMG this book had me rolling around on the floor before I’d even finished the first page! It’s been a while since I’ve read any chick-lit, and this book really made me realise what I’ve been missing.

This first-person narrative has a linear structure with colloquial language that draws the reader in, making them feel they’re having a coffee with friends. And cake: there’s lots of yummy cake!

But underneath this laugh-out-loud novel is a heart-breaking story that makes the reader empathise all the more with Holly, the likeable protagonist. As Holly and her two besties share intimate details of their marriages, Holly conjures up a fantastical sex-life to cover up her husband’s sex-drive; or lack of it. It’s not so much that it’s dwindled; it just wasn’t there in the first place. But has it really dwindled? Is Alex topping up his bi-monthly love-life with his wife from somewhere, or more precisely, somebody else? Holly seems to think so. But just who is this mystery lover? Do they really exist, or is it all in her imagination? The clever clues are there, but I certainly didn’t see this twist coming!

But despite all of Holly’s trauma; true to its genre, there’s a heart-warming end to the story. And I turned the last page with a satisfying sigh of contentment.

This novel has all the elements of a good chick-lit: the writing style reminded me of Sophie Kinsella and April Hardy. The humour reminded me of Marian Keyes. I would recommend this hilarious book for anybody who’s had a stressful week and needs a good belly-laugh to share with this trio of besties.

This book has been given Literature Love’s 5 star rating as specified below:

I absolutely loved this book and couldn’t put it down. I recommend you stop what you’re doing and go and buy this book now! As well as having all the elements of a four-star review, this book transcends its genre. The language is original and compelling; characters jumped off the page; and twists in the plot left me gasping. This rare and exceptional book will be put forward for Literature Love’s top 10 books of the year.
