I fell into this book from the very beginning! I have enjoyed this author’s books in the past and was very happy to find out this one was no different. Joss and Carson, two souls wounded in different ways but wounded just the same. Watching them, their attraction, their interactions and their attempts to heal each other, was such an amazing read. This is definitely on my recommendation list to other readers.

Healing touch is a unique romance, this story really got to me a few times. Joss is struggling to get over the betrayal that was her marriage and to make things worse she still has to work with her ex and the woman that he cheated with. Okay, that alone should get your attention. Carter is one of those guys that is all that and more, he may not have lots of money but he makes up for it in so many ways, There are some emotionally healing moments in this book that make you sign in contentment and some hot steamy scenes that will have you fanning yourself. I loved this books so much.

Another great read by Brenda Rothert. Jocelyn and Carson are two broken people who come together and find the greatest love.

Both people have felt loss in the past and thought they could not bump back from it. In reality, they were just waiting for each other.

They face ups and downs as a couple, but they always come out on top. I loved the story :)

I first read Healing Touch in the Night Shift anthology. In the novella, we meet Joss and Carson and get the story of their first meeting. Now we get their complete story. This was a sweet, enjoyable, although predictable at times, story. There’s just the right amount of heat, humor, and drama mixed in this light read.

I really enjoyed this book. Carson and Joss both have pasts relationships that shattered their hearts. They are both closed off from dating. Josh is an OB doctor and Carson is maintenance at the same hospital. Josh needs help setting up her research room and Carson comes to her rescue. They hit it off immediately and after hours of talking while Carson was working, they decide to go home together for some much needed intimacy. And then their relationship builds and they slowly help each other heal. A very sweet romance with very steamy encounters between Josh and Carson.

Healing Touch by Brenda Rothert is a very sweet romance. Set in New Orleans, in a hospital, Joss and Carson discover that sometimes opening up to love again is truly the healing that a soul needs.

Joss is setting up a room in the hospital for a research project she is doing. Unfortunately, the room is uncomfortably warm. It needs some TLC and the only person for the job is the mechanical specialist at the hospital, Carson. It’s not love at first sight but Carson has definitely noticed Joss around the hospital before. But he is determined to close himself off from everyone, even gentle and kind doctors like Joss who might just be the balm he needs in his life.

Joss is still getting over, to some extent, a bad ending to a relationship. And unfortunately, she sees her ex and his new girlfriend at the hospital because of course they work there too. Joss wants to feel loved and sexy again. She wants to be more than just an efficient and talented doctor. Carson makes her feel everything and she is loath to let that end. But can these two closed-off souls make their relationship work?

Healing Touch was a bit of a slow starter for me. I read it in fits and bursts. But that being said, I really enjoyed the journey Carson and Joss went on together. It was not easy for either of them and they both had some serious self-doubt at times. But I’m glad they persisted. And I was especially glad at the ending because I truly feared for a moment that a happily-ever-after may not be possible (no worries though! It was totally possible). I also really liked seeing Joss use her skills throughout the book. She was a pretty darn amazing woman

This book touched me in ways I didn’t even think it would. It’s a very raw and realistic story that will have you thinking about your life and the impact it has on you as a person.

Joss and Carson’s story focus on maintenance in a hospital room and I’m genuinely in love with the way the plot carries out. It’s different, it’s intoxicating and I have to say that I didn’t think I would fall in love with these characters but I have. They captivated me in ways I didn’t think they would.

Definitely recommending this story!

Working in the same hospital as her ex-husband and his new girlfriend is hard for Jocelyn 'Joss' Drake, but there's no way she's going to quit. Not when she does important work and is looking to have her research project approved. Luckily, she finds a nice distraction to her problems in the hospital's sexy electrician, Carson Stephens. Will Carson and Joss be able to overcome their past demons to get their happy ever after or is it too hard for each of them to ever to put their trust in another person again?

This is only the second book I've read by Ms. Rothert, but I've got to say that I love her style of writing. The words flow seamlessly; the fast-paced plot was enjoyable, the dialogue was entertaining and drew me in from the beginning; as the heroine isn't about to let her ex and his new bouncy girlfriend drive her away from her place of work; and the characters had interesting back stories and tough obstacles to overcome including the hero's jealousy and both their trust issues.

As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories, as both have been through so much. Will the hero be able to give the heroine everything she wants, especially since he didn't have the best upbringing? Moreover, the heroine is resilient, courageous and I liked that she stands up to her ex who is an absolute pain and needs to understand that the heroine is in a good place in her life. Actually, the best place in her life, especially with Carson in it. I also liked how good of a doctor the heroine is and that she would do anything to help someone in need, even if that someone hasn't been the nicest to her. While the hero, he has doubts on whether he can give the heroine everything she needs, but I liked that the heroine didn't give up on him. I also liked that he was willing to fight for his relationship with the heroine by working through his issues, especially since his past has such a hold on him.

Overall, Ms. Rothert has delivered a really good read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was strong; the romance was nicely-detailed and passionate; and the ending had me loving what the heroine does to help someone in need and had me loving the decision the hero made because he wants the heroine to have everything she wants in life - love, family and happiness. I would recommend Healing Touch by Brenda Rothert, if you enjoy stories by Harper Sloan, Kristen Proby, Kelly Elliott and Devney Perry.

So very, very good! I was more than excited when I discovered that this was a continuation of Joss and Carson’s story that I first loved in the Night Shift anthology a few years ago. Where that story was the couple meeting and connecting over the course of a night, Rothert gives us their full story and hea here. I loved this coupling!! Seemingly opposite in so many ways, Joss and Carson bring out so much wonderful in the other. Confidence, attraction, heart and heat all rolled together. This was so much more than satisfying. It’s a story full of hope and acceptance and love.

I feel terrible writing this, but because it is such a departure from what I normally feel when confronted with these situations in books I feel it warrants a mention - I think one of my favorite parts of the book was watching Joss have to deal with her ex and his trifling girlfriend. Honestly, that was one of the aspects of the blurb that wanted me to read the book: the fact that she still worked in the same building as her ex and the woman he cheated on her with. But beyond that, I really enjoyed Healing Touch - I liked Joss and Carson and I liked that though they had chemistry, they were still very different people and so figuring out how to meld their lives together outside of their physical relationship wasn't so cut and dry. It made the story more palatable and realistic and I really liked that. 3 out of 5 wine glasses.

I enjoyed this book, but I didn't love it. It was different in some ways, which was nice. The last few chapters were my favorites and it had a sweet ending.

Healing Touch is a sweet story of two people who have been betrayed and live a life that’s not easy. Joss has buried herself in her work, so she doesn’t have to think about her personal life. Carson wants to go anywhere but home and finds solace in his work at a hospital after serving his time overseas. Joss has insecurities and Carson feels too broken to get involved with anyone. This beautiful couple will lose themselves in each other to begin the healing process.

I loved how fast this couple grows together. The writing is flawless and captures your heart the moment these two meet. I enjoyed the humor and especially the “drop the mic” moment. There were so many parts that just put a smile on my face. This author creates characters that are strong and don’t back down. They go after what they want, and they fight hard for it.
Grab Healing Touch for a great beach read this summer.

Joss is an OB doctor who recently divorced her ER doctor husband after the nurse that he was having an affair with ended up pregnant. She is still working at the same hospital so that she can complete her project and has to deal with the humiliation of her co-workers not only knowing about what happened but talking about it as well.

Carson is retired from the military but still bears the scars of what he has seen and what he had to do. He has chosen to work the maintenance night shift, so he can have minimal contact with others but when Joss calls to have him fix the air conditioning before her presentation the next day both they are both surprised by their reaction to the other.

Carson and Joss are opposites, but they are a perfect match. She helps him deals with his past and he helps her realize that she is a beautiful woman and what her ex did was not her fault. This is a story of healing filled with angst, drama and romance that doesn’t disappoint. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.

Pretty good book for what it is. Seemed short with no real angst but I liked the writing and characters. I hadn't read the book when it a shorter part of an anthology.

I loved this story so much!
It's book about hope, forgiveness, thoughtfulness... How two broken people cared about each other.
I loved Joss, she was strong but she could forgive people who hurt her a lot. She wasn't a doormat, just this kind of people who could forgive in Christian way, without any grudge.
I loved Carson, what a gem: sexy, caring, tender, hottttttt
