I liked this. It wasn't too much or too little, and I really liked that Cabe and Amy had issues to work through on top of dealing with their jobs and the weird chemistry neither could fight. Amy knows what it's like for women who try to get ahead in a male-dominated world, and the FBI is barely considered an easy feat to overcome. As a hard-working agent with naturally good looks, it's harder to be taken seriously, which is why she thinks it's a bad idea to have anything to do with the cute guy she met at the bar after finding out they're to work together.
It was easier to like Cabe than Amy, though there were times when I wanted to shake him every time he felt the need to choose her over the job. Yes, of course I'd want him to always choose her, but at the same time, it was-- well. Needless to say, it was all very complicated and they had a rough start to this 'relationship'. I did find the second half easier to read, and I really liked Cabe's best friends/business partners. Their stories were the last two installments, which is something I may look into later, but I loved their support and camaraderie in here. Like Amy with the great men in her life, they made it so much easier to enjoy Cabe and Amy with the way they loved and trusted them. The whole feel of family, and good work ethnics, and suspense and creepy bad guys combined made for an entertaining read, and if you like reading about thrillers and gambling/card playing, then check this out.

Deep Cover brings a strong, still grieving warrior together with another strong, determined professional to bring down one of the most loathsome criminal operations imaginable. As a partner, with his two friends Six and Mac, Caleb is used to dealing with the scum of the earth and he does it well. His work drives him in many ways as he is still grieving the death, on the job, of a woman he’d planned to spend the rest of his life with. Now there is only that empty spot where she once was and the job. That is until Amy joined this case, then everything changed and Cabe wasn’t always the smoothest in his reactions to a woman who is starting to mean more than he ever thought he’d allow himself to feel again. It doesn’t help that they’re both working the same op, that she’s deep undercover and that all of his fears about her safety have to be battled once again. In fact, Amy is quite capable of looking out for herself. She’s smart, fierce in the battles to come, has her own type of cunning to work this op and in reality finds Cabe very frustrating, and sexy if she’s honest with herself. They have a job to do, villains to conquer… and maybe the chance for a lifetime to share, if they survive.
If you love fast action, a satisfying puzzle to take apart and solve, and the mysteries of why one person can matter so much to another… then you’ll love Deep Cover. While I don’t believe you “have” to have read Under Fire or Final Siege to enjoy Deep Cover it certainly does put a very satisfying ending on this series. And besides, they are all amazing stories in their own right, so if you get the chance then I would recommend reading them in order. I admit to hoping to see more from the Eagle Securities team one day.
Amy and Cabe work, there is just no other way to say it. Yes, Cabe is still grieving, yet Amy is able to get him feeling again, to see that life didn’t end for him (as harsh as that may sound) when the woman he loved died. There is still a chance at happiness for him with Amy, he simply has to be ready and willing to accept and act on that. The suspense is strong, the action fast and the ending… just right. I enjoyed myself in this world and would definitely recommend Deep Cover to any Romantic Suspense reader.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

When Amy is teamed up with Cabe to bust a money laundering business as well as find evidence of missing women, they both know they have to keep things professional between them. Amy’s past has a case of sexual harassment that colored her reputation and to get involved with a superior coworker would give credence to the gossip’s claims. Cabe’s fiancée, Jess, died two years ago and he’s still struggling to move on and not succeeding very well. However, he is attracted to Amy like no other woman since her and he wants to take a chance. Unfortunately, she works a job that is open to danger, just as Jess did, and he’s not sure he could survive losing another woman again.
This was a relatively slow paced book that set up the background and the current situation regarding the bad guys. The setting is primarily in a casino with lots of info on betting, counting cards, and other miscellaneous gambling tidbits. While I liked the hero and heroine well enough, I never really felt a full on chemistry explosion between these two. Part of the reason was due to Cabe’s struggle to move on from the loss of Jess. Even when he didn’t feel the guilt of being with Amy, he was checking to see if he felt it. There was just a lot of remembering his fiancée that took away from the buildup between Amy and Cabe. I’m not a fan of this trope at all so it colored my opinion of the story.
The plot and the storyline was excellent with lots of villains and danger at every turn. I was anxious for Amy each time she stepped out to investigate or someone from the casino approached her. I approved of Cabe’s instinct to protect her at all cost even if they lost their target. The ending was satisfying as their case comes to a conclusion and there was a nice little epilogue that gave us a look into their future a few months/weeks later.
Overall, if you don’t mind the deceased spouse/lover trope, then you will definitely enjoy this one.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Chemistry and heat are hot between Amy and Mack from the first time they see each other. The shock comes when they both show up for the first meet up of their new case. The more under they go in the case the closer they get.
This book was awesome the pages turned so fast I couldn't get enough.

Pretty predictable, but an enjoyable read. Being predictable isn’t a bad thing for me. I expect certain things from romantic suspense, and Ms. Cole delivered nicely.
Cabe and Amy meet casually in a bar, and the attraction is instant. However, it’s Cabe’s dead fiance’s birthday and he skips out, leaving Amy confused and angry. Annndddd....they soon discover that Cabe’s Eagle Securities and the FBI office where Amy just started will be working together on a joint task force. Awkward.
That sets up the story, and the story is very good. Cabe’s team, the FBI, CIA and San Diego Poloce department are still tracking and trying to catch the Russians from the previous two books, while Amy is more concerned with finding out what has happened to the missing women who disappeared from a Vegas casino. Their separate but joint interests make the story a little confusing at times, but it all works out nicely. The casino setting was fun to read with a lot of details that seemed authentic, though I have no particular knowledge of casinos.
I had one little complaint...the way Amy seemed to change once she and Cabe hooked up. Of course they hooked up! It’s a romance! That’s not a spoiler. Sheesh.
Anyway, if romantic suspense is something you enjoy, you’ll love this book. Ms. Cole is a wonderful storyteller. Pick up a copy and...
Enjoy!

If you are a reader who enjoys romantic suspense, then you need to discover the Love Over Duty Novels. Deep Cover is book in this series by Scarlett Cole. This is the only series by this author that I have read, but it is a gripping compelling set of stories. Deep Cover is Cabe Moss’, former Navy SEAL, story along with FBI agent Amy Murray.
Cabe brings his get the mission done whatever the costs philosophy to the undercover mission he is on with Amy. I am sure the attraction was not part of his plan, but these two are hot together. Past losses notwithstanding, he is ready to move on in his life if they can complete the mission safely and completely. Two tough, dependable characters that have you rooting for them professional and personally while quietly nail biting when the danger rises.
Fans of Toni Andersen, Lindsay Cross, and Kaylea Cross should add Scarlet Cole to their auto TBL, I know I have.

The third book in the series has Cade the team leader finding love after losing his fiancé years back on a mission overseas. Never really getting over her he is at a bar on the day of want would have been her birthday. It is there that he meets Amy Murray. Buying her a drink as she is buying her girlfriends some, she explains she will be right back to drop off the drinks and wouldn’t you know it he is gone. After waiting twenty minutes she figures he is a jerk goes back to her friends and figures Monday will begin another week. Monday Cade and his team are asked to meet with the FBI, and one CIA agent in regards to a case that they have been working and now the FBI has some more information plus a plan to get more. Arriving at the meeting Cade is struck when he realizes that the women he meet on Friday night is sitting at the desk and is an FBI agent. After the meeting he goes to say something to her and Amy shuts him down to the point that he is now intrigued by her. Now you have the two love interest in this book. You also have Six planning the wedding for him and Louisa because she does not want to do the planning, so at times you have some ex-Seals picking cake and him asking about flowers. It really is a nice touch to the story. Besides the action what really made the story for me was Amy’s father and more importantly her uncle Clive. He was a throwback to the old Vegas and for me this added to the story and really set it apart. Overall the action and the love scenes were good. This was a good book after book number two.

This is a fast paced romantic thriller full of action, suspense and chemistry!! This book is a great addition to the series and I would highly recommend the entire series!

My 4 star review is up on Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/36386387-deep-cover?ac=1&from_search=true
It will be posted on blog and social media upon release on July 31 and links will GO LIVE and be updated at that time. UPDATED 7/31/18
Cabe Moss has loved and lost, and is still grieving two years later. He has thrown himself into work in the Eagle Securities company he owns with his two best friends, Six and Mac. But he can also admit that he is a bit envious that his friends are finding their happy-ever-afters now when his never materialized. Their team is trying to take down a Russian syndicate that for several reasons has also become personal for them.
Amy Murray is an FBI agent who has a personal stake in trying to help find missing women. She is highly intelligent, motivated, brave, caring, and understanding. She has been through several situations that have left their mark on her and shaped the woman she is now. She is determined to go undercover in a casino and use all of her skills to help infiltrate this crime ring.
And that means working with Eagle Securities and Cabe. When they are partnered up there is surprising sexual tension and attraction. The lonely man who has not been interested in anyone in years is having a hard time ignoring the pull. He is beginning to feel alive again, and he has a strong need to keep her safe. And the woman determined to stay away from impropriety at work is having just as hard a time avoiding it. Their plan is to try to stay professional at least until the op is over. But that will be challenged by adrenaline, fear, and his need to watch out for her. I really liked both of these two characters. They both had demons to deal with along with the job at hand, but were tenacious and could appreciate the other.
It's duty versus lust and love. Can he protect her yet still let her do the job she was trained for?
This has suspense, danger, steam, and emotion. There are plenty of layers built into the mission and the casino vibe gives it a different feel. It ties up the progressive story arc from the first two books and brings back the other couples Six and Lou, and Mac and Delaney. I love the funny yet strong dynamic between these long-time friends and their significant others. And there are still other Eagle guys that could become potential heroes if the series continues.

I loved the chemistry between Cabe and Amy from the very moment that they met. Unfortunately it was actually bad timing for Cabe. His heart was hurting and couldn't get over it right then.
Who would have known how they were going to get to work together on a case. It makes Cabe feel more than he has in a long time and he doesn't like it all.
Amy is all in on this case, this is what she got into the FBI for and nothing was going to get in her way. I loved that she was a strong person and could fight for what she wanted.
Loved the suspense, romance, heart pitter patters that this book gave me. I got drawn into the story and couldn't put it down.

DEEP COVER by Scarlett Cole is book Three in the Love Over Duty series. This is the story of Cabe Moss and Amy Murray. I have read the previous book, and Cabe was in that one, but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Cabe and his buddies have a Eagle Securities company that sometimes works with the Government. This assignment isn't much different except Amy and FBI agent will be working undercover. Cabe is still dealing with the lost of his fiancée who died. But feelings start up between Cabe and Amy while working on their assignment.
This story had a lot of excitement which made it a page turner but also had emotions of loss from Cabe and the growth of a new love. I really enjoyed reading their story!

This is the first book in the series that I have read, but I never felt like I was missing something because I hadn't read they others. I did feel like I will have to go back and read the previous books as I am curious about the other characters and how everyone fits in.
Amy is a woman on a mission. She is determined to help people who find themselves in the same loss situation she has dealt with since she was a young child. There are never enough resources, maybe not enough people who truly care about finding that missing person and bringing them back to their family. As a result she finds herself living away from the small amount of family that she cares the most for. Her work in the FBI keeps her busy but she doesn't have the close relationships with friends that everyone hopes to have. When she is offered a chance to go undercover to help find the missing women she has been working on she is quick to agree.
Cabe is proud of the security team that he has formed with his two best friends. Ex-seals who still have a need to help people and make the world we live in a better place without the distance and depth of the Seals. They have come a long way in the past two years. When they are brought in to work beside the FBI and RICO in a combined money laundering and missing women case, it is his team that is put to the test. Care and precision has gotten him where he is today but working with the beautiful female agent might be too much. Knowing too well what can happen in battle.
There is an obvious attraction between Amy and Cabe when they first meet. But they both have their share of baggage in the closet that holds them back. No to mention crossing the lines of duty while on a case is certainly not the in the best interest of everyone. Will they be able to keep the lines drawn? Or will feeling come to the surface, forcing them to deal with the baggage and maybe move on with life?
Ms. Cole had me drawn into the book early with the suspense and technicalities of the case. But the chemistry between Amy and Cabe was sparking from the very beginning. I also enjoyed how the secondary characters helped to solidify the main characters. Job well done.

A romantic suspense love story between undercover FBI agent Amy and Caleb ex-Seal. It is an emotional story, especially from Caleb's side. It truly is heartbreaking what happened to him and because of that, he has reservations toward Amy. On the other hand, Amy is very attracted to Caleb but because of the scandal from the previous job she doesn't want to start a relationship with Caleb. Both Amy and Caleb are likable and greatly developed. I just wanted more interaction/action between them the story was more focused on the mission and not so much on the relationship. It is also great to see the characters from previous books.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley

Cabe Moss is an ex – Navy SEAL that never lets his past interfere with work but when he’s pushed to team up FBI agent Amy Murray he wants to do more than complete their mission together. Born ready for this assignment, Amy finds working with the frustratingly professional Cabe to be the biggest challenge of all.
Thrilling and fast paced, the third book in the Love Over Duty series keeps readers glued to the pages with lots of suspense and romance. Cabe and his team are ready to bring down their enemies any way possible even if that means working with a whole host of alphabet agencies in order to get the bad guys and this mission has Cabe and Amy both working to overcome their emotional issues while doing so. In regards to the mission, anticipation builds as their undercover personas get closer to the endgame and a few twists and turns adds adrenaline pumping action to the mix, especially as the good guys have multiple objectives.
Cabe and Amy are strong, compelling characters that easily draw readers in and hold their attention while the sizzling chemistry heats up the pages and burns hot enough that this couple can’t fight their attraction no matter the professional and emotional obstacles that get in the way.
I was completely caught up in the excitement of this mission as much as I was caught up in Cabe and Amy’s combustible romance as both had so much potential to blow up in their faces as they put their lives and their hearts at risk.

This may be book 3 in a series but trust me you can just jump right into it and have a fab time reading it. A hot and sexy but damaged alpha male goes up against a dangerous mission and a woman who certainly manages to get under his skin. Seriously great chemistry in this book, and very sexy at times you can feel the sexual tension rippling off the pages. Great action scenes enhance the relationship between the lead characters and also add extra tension to their burgeoning relationship. Go read this book if you like danger, alpha men and sexual tension/romance.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my opinion. Thank you!
Out of the 3 books in this series, this was the one that I liked the best. I thought that Cabe and Amy complemented each other so well. I liked how strong Amy was. She's my favorite out of all the women in the series. Amy's her own person and I loved how Cabe recognized that. I also especially liked how there wasn't too much high-angst pining on Cabe's part over his dead fiancée.
I thought this story was a satisfying conclusion to the overall mystery/suspense angle. And fans of the series will love getting to see Six & Lou and Mac & Delaney again. I know I enjoyed "visiting" with them once more.
Note: This is a stand-alone book but I would definitely say that it's still best to read the first two books in the series prior to diving into this story. There are elements to the plot of this one that are definitely related to events that happened in books 1 & 2.

FBI agent Amy was a great character who grew up with a father who was a pit boss in Vegas and knew the industry well. Cabe was another great character and an ex navy seal who worked for a private security group and had a past of losing a fiancé to an IED. The two have to work together on a joint task force where Amy went undercover as a card dealer. Lots of action and suspense with great chemistry and some steam. This was a great read. I am voluntarily reviewing an arc I received from Netgallery.

I loved this book. I literally could not stop reading. I had to know what happened. There were so many amazing moments in this book. It was a fairly quick read but it was all plot. This author really knows how to keep you on your toes. I mean there was so much drama and romance it was so good!!! I really loved how Cabe met Amy. I liked they were both in dangerous lines of work. I felt like it was a nice relief from the Macho hero saving the helpless woman. It was nice to see Amy working right along side Cabe. I loved the tension between them. Amy and Cabe had an obvious connection but the job was important to both. They both had reasons in their past to want to see the job get done and not get involved with each other. I loved all of the background characters. Six and Mac were hilarious. I really enjoyed them. I can´t wait to read more by this author. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a good romance!

Deep Cover is the third book in Love Over Duty series by Scarlett Cole. I didn't read first two books but the blurb of Deep Cover sounded very promising, so I decided to give it a chance. I liked this book and didn't feel lost or confused for not reading other two books in the series. Deep Cover is an entertaining, action-packed romantic suspense story with likable characters, interesting plot and very compelling love story. I don't always enjoy romantic suspense but I thoroughly enjoyed Deep Cover.

Deep cover is the third and last volume in the Love over duty series by Scarlett Cole. I couldn’t wait for this story especially because of Cabe Moss, the hero, also the last ex-Navy Seal who works in Eagle Securities. Indeed, Cabe was the most strict about the respect of the rules and he was absolutely against some relationship between the other heroes and their soul mate who also happened to be their client. So I’ve been dying to see him fall head over heals for someone. And we can say he falls hard and fast.
The story starts some time after the end of Final siege and one of the villains of the all series is always hard to find. In this book, our heroes have finally the opportunity to apprehend him by collaborating with other law-enforcements officers as FBI, CIA, local police… I loved this part of the book because in some romantic suspense novels, it seems that our heroes are alone against the world and I don’t find that very plausible during an investigation. The collobaration here means they have an accreditation to legally intervene. Cabe has to work undercover with an FBI agent. Amy Murray is the one he works with and he met her briefly at the beginning of the book.
The attraction is immediate and the hero doesn’t know how to fight against it. There are two obstacles to a possible relationship : the hero is still mourning his fiancee who died two years ago and he has a lot of difficulty in accepting his feelings for the heroine ; the second problem is that they work together and he doesn’t want to mix his private life and his professional life.
As for our heroine, she has some good reasons not to want to start something with Cabe but I won’t talk about it here.
The hesitations of our hero and heroine take a big part in the story then they have to find a solution for them to be together because of the investigation. So there are some hot scenes but late in the book but they are well described.
About the investigation, we have two plots : to find again the one who put the crew and the previous heroines in danger but also, with the FBI, to find informations about the sudden disappearance of young women. So there are less action in this movie because their main work is to observe and I found that was plausible.
I loved to see again the previous characters, I loved to see the support between all the characters and I absolutely loved to see Lou and Six again. These two are my favorites amongst Scarlett’s couples.
In conclusion, a volume up to my expectations and a series to read absolutely.
