Lovely collection of images! Nothing cuter than fluffy chicks and some of the adults were almost as fluffy!

This is a cute book filled with gorgeous photographs of the author's backyard chickens. There is not a lot of text but she does introduce you to all the stars. Enjoy spending some time in the chicken yard. This book will make a great gift.

Who said the barn yard wasn’t glamorous? These hens, roosters, and chicks will seriously have you reconsidering your perspective of farm life. From the Instagram famous Chicken Chick comes this lovely and heartwarming coffee table book featuring stunning photography of her famous feathered fowl.

This book was everything I want in a collection of photos, and even a little bit more. The pictures are vivid, and genuinely exude the attitude of the chicken subjects. The coop and surrounding pasture the chickens roam in are a masterpiece of their own right, and lend themselves to gorgeous backdrops in each image. I am not an avid user of Instagram, yet I made it a point to follow Mormino’s account immediately. What really put it over the edge for me was that there was a section of the book devoted to snapshots of chicken butts. It was absurdly adorable.

*I would like to thank the publisher, author, and NetGalley for providing an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

This is such a fun book to look through! I loved seeing all the different breeds (it is amazing how different they can be!) The only problem is that now I want a huge flock of chickens, too!

Two words sum this up for me ....chicken envy!!!!

This is an absolutely fabulous photo book . full of lovely photos of some of the best kept chickens i have seen.
The breeds shown in the book are a brilliant range and do them justice.
I loved the egg photos, its always lovely to see the colour range from various breeds.
The" booty Beauty" chapter was one of my favorites, seeing all the big fluffy behinds was funny and cute, however "That face" chapter was hilarious , the chickens photoed are as cute as they are ugly in only a way a chicken can be!
But my absolute favorite chapter is "The littles" My oooohs and aaaaahs were so loud it attracted the rest of the family who joined in with their own excited squeals!

Lifestyles of the chicken famous really is a lovely book.

Kathy Shea Mormino, "The Chicken Chick," is a well-known blogger and writer with a recent and popular book for backyard chicken owners, The Chicken Chick's Guide to Backyard Chickens: Simple Steps for Healthy, Happy Hens. I loved that book! This is, however, merely a slender coffee table book with beautiful photos of her favorite chickens and breeds. There is minimal text. With a price point just under US$20, it is not a book I would buy myself.

Lifestyles of the Chicken Famous by Kathy Shea Mormino is a gorgeous photobook on chickens. If you have dreamed of your own chickens, this book will shot your chicken fever through the roof. The photos are absolutely beautiful and bring out the personalities of the different individuals and show the differences between breeds in an excellent way. The author presents some of the most charismatic individuals in her flock more in detail and it is very clear she has studied her animals very carefully. Best photos of chickens I've ever seen.

This is a definitive feel-good book for anyone having chicken as pets or dreaming of having them. It is also a great illustrated guide to different breeds as there are plenty in this flock.

If you love chickens, have a backyard flock or wish you did this is a coffee table book for you!

This book is full of enchanting pictures of Kathy Shea Mormino's flock, beautiful backyard and coops.Ms. Mormino is the self described Chicken Chick, who gives tips on having a healthy backyard flock. She has also been an advocate for backyard chickens in communities for many years.
This book however is not a how to book, it's really a "look how beautiful my Girls (and Roos) are" and I totally agree. Kathy's Chicken's have been facebook and Instagram stars for a while and now she's sharing them with the rest of the world in book format! The adoring public has followed along with their ups and downs and now they are immortalized on paper.
Beautiful scenes are captured in the pages and the ever iconic Rachel is even given her own chapter!
You'll fall instantly in love the Araucanas and Frizzles, Marans and Cochins (think fuzzy feet).
The seasonal photography is breathtaking and it will make you want to pull up a chair and visit with them for a while.
She starts with the littles and seriously what's cuter than a baby chick? I personally have chickens and I can tell you that they have personalities from day one. It's an amazing thing to watch them grow from fuzzy little poofs to mini dinosaurs with their own distinct personalities.
Later chapters are for the girls and another for the boys. As I the perused the pages I saw many expressions that I have seen in my own flock. Scarlet steals my heart, she looks like our Martha and even has the same attitude, I wonder if it has something to do with being a redhead?
And of course there is a whole chapter on the Fluffy Butts, who doesn't love to see those bloomers?
Even better, if you are considering a flock of your own, there is an index listing every bird and their breed along with their name in the back. That way if you find The One, you'll know exactly what to ask for when at that next Chicken swap!
Chickens have so much personality and Kathy Shea Mormino has captured some of it in a most enjoyable way. This book would be great for kids, and adults alike. It is a picture book with some small amount of commentary. If you have someone on your gift list missing the farm life or dreaming of their own flock this book is a must.
The only thing that would have made it a bit better is for a bit of information on the chicken breeds, which for non chicken fanatics would have made this a bit more informative.

Upon looking at this book, I quickly realized is that I am not all that connected on social media. I am not previously one of the 808k people who ‘like’ The Chicken Chick on Facebook. However, I can say that I am her latest fan. This is her newest book. And it is definitely a feast for the eyes. Featuring her own photography, Mormino creates a tribute to her many chickens. The book also contains a detailed photo index, so it is easy to determine the breed names that correspond to the chickens in your favorite photos.

Many people reviewing this book will comment on the lack of information. It is simply a beautiful book of photography. I can appreciate that. What I can also appreciate is that Mormino has a wealth of information on her website. Topics range from behavior, to care, to health and seasonal issues. If you need information, find a trusted source. If you want to see gorgeous chicken photography, buy this book.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.

When I was working my way through college, I worked for a library, and I used to love to pour over the cookbooks, that had large beautiful pictures of what you were supposed to cook. It was food porn, and I loved to look and look.

These days, I keep backyard chickens, and this book is just as much fun to look at, for the "hen porn". Just look at some of these pictures.

Apparently the author has a large Internet following, and so do her chickens. I love looking at all these lovely hens and roosters, but when I tried to show these to my wife, she said, "Do they lay eggs. Are they good for anything?"When I said I doubted it, she said, give me books on practical chickens.

I never realized there were so many "chicken" people! I thoroughly enjoyed this book. My chicken crazy cousin will have to have this one for Christmas too! Lovely pictures, interesting commentary...I could easily become a "chicken" person too!

Lifestyles of the Chicken Famous is a collection of lovely photographs with chatty upbeat explanatory text showcasing the beautiful flock owned by Kathy Shea Mormino, aka the Chicken Chick. 144 pages and full color, it has a release date 26th June 2018 and is published by Quarto Publishing - Voyageur. Available in hardcover format, it's really a coffee table book and doesn't include much culture, care or instruction (all of which are available on her website/blog/facebook pages).

It does include a handy index with links to the photos and which breed each of her chickens represents.

It's a lovely book and worth a look.

Four stars.

Super cute book with gourgous pictures. I now have to buy this for my sister in law who is crazy about chickens. I loved the photos and found myself smiling all through the book

Self professed chicken hoarder Kathy Shea Mormino began sharing photos of her diverse flock years ago on her Facebook page, The Chicken Chick. Her chickens became somewhat of a social media sensation and this book offers up a collection of photos showcasing the beauty and personalities of the chickens that readers have come to know.
Lifestyles of the Chicken Famous is a nice coffee table book of photographs divided into seven chapters. While Mormino documents chicken keeping and offers a wealth of knowledge on her site The Chicken Chick, this book is simply a collection of photographs with a helpful index featuring the chicken breed found on each page.
Thanks to Quarto Publishing Group and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
