Very well-written time travel romance book. The characters were developed and likable. It was a story with lots of action, some suspense and a twist as well as a nice romance with steamy sex. The story grabbed my interest right from the start and held it up until the very end. I will be reading more from this author.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this review copy of On Highland Time by Lexi Post.
Full disclosure: I don’t read a lot of romance novels anymore especially paranormal/time-travel so this is probably an unfair review in a lot of ways but I just didn’t GET it.
The entire Time Weavers business model and Diana’s job COULD have been cool but it was explained oddly (everyone lives in her house?) and the entire thing felt rushed. I’m not even sure how they were funded. And then there are huge plot holes like a character’s ability to leave a major hospital after being run through by a sword and on a feeding tube.
As far as the romance goes the entire relationship was rushed and silly. Torr is from 700 years ago and yet he’s the perfect man (except the usual guarded heart and bed hopping) and it’s pretty much insta-lust for the both of them. The sex scenes seem to be pretty much the entire point of this book with just a little sword swinging, bread baking and “who is the traitor” and “who is the disruptor” to break up the monotony. I’m still not sure who either are and I don’t care.
Final review: two stars. Silly and with a side of muddled plot time travel romance.

Unfortunately, since requesting this title I have learned that historical romances are not generally suited to my reading tastes, and this is one of those that I didn’t gel with. As a result I won’t be able to finish reading this as I feel it would be unfair to both myself as the reader and the publisher/author who would likely read my thoughts. I feel I wouldn’t be able to give it a fair chance and I’m sure it’s a wonderful book that deserves praise. Regardless I thank you for the reviewing opportunity and pass my sincere apologies along to both the publisher and author for not being able to provide an adequate review.

I initially decided to read this book based on the blurb, the cover wasn't bad either. I generally find the concept of time travel entertaining, and this one didn't disappoint. There is a fair amount of world building which enhanced the story, (though at times bogged it down - not to much though). The heroine and hero were likable, while the other characters added substance to the overall story creating a good read.

I received an e-arc of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
This book was an ok read in my opinion. It had some interesting portions and the love scenes were hot but that didn't really make up for the lack of interest I personally had for the characters.
I know it's meant to be a book in a bigger series but I'm not sure I'd be willing to read the others.
If you like books about time travel this might be your style, as for me, it was an ok way to kill a few hours.

Wow, one of the reasons I wanted to read this story was because not only was the book information interesting but also I was drawn into the "how can this work out?" question.

The main characters were really good and both Diana and Torr were also surrounded with really good people of their "clan". In Torr's time they were definitely considered a clan but it was also easy to understand when it was said that Diana had her own "clan" as well. Members of the TWI mainly being that clan.
The world building was really detailed and good both in Scotland and in the way that Time Weavers (TWI) worked. Disruptors were able to go into time as well but worked against history as it stood. Thus the name of Disruptors, the wanted to change history for their own purposes. Some of those purposes were not yet fully explained. Mainly because even the people in the story were trying to figure that out. All they could do at this point was to keep fighting to restore history before a major problem remained.
The story does get steamy but further along in the story and it doesn't feel like some books were it's all steam and little story. The story is definitely there. This book is filled with emotion, action, twists, turns, dangers, suspense and romance. Even the romance between the two main characters kind of develops a bit differently. There is also more than one time of guessing who the villain of the piece is. Not only guessing about that but also how in the world it was going to work out just like I said originally. That became harder and harder to imagine as time went on. That part alone was done pretty darn good as far as I am concerned. It has a good ending but also leaves an opening for further adventures.

Time Weavers, Inc has me hooked!

This book checked off many of my loves in a great story - time travel, mystery, hunky Scottish lairds, strong female lead. I loved the Time Weavers, Inc. story line and how Diana and the other agents can go back in time to fix issues that the disrupters cause to change history back (to where it was). It really makes a person think about how little blips in your life can affect so much else. The author did a good job of setting up the characters and the back stories.

I received a free Advanced Readers Copy of the book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I will definitely be purchasing more of the series as it comes out so I can follow the characters and where the story goes from here. I would have loved to learn more about Diana and Torr's future at the end of the book

On Highland Time by Lexi Post was a fun time-traveling historical romance that really hooked me from the get-go. This read had a nice amount of chemistry and build-up between the characters, well-defined world and interesting storyline. Can’t wait for the next one.

An ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review of which this is both honest and completely voluntary.

I’m really intrigued by the premise of the story and the epilogue definitely leaves me wanting more. It’s an interesting love story full of suspense and time travel.

This is a time travel story - which goes back to Highland Scotland. I found a bit difficult to get into, but did eventually get pulled into the story and found myself racing through to the end.

Its a romance - so you know there will be a happily ever after, but the road there was not expected. An interesting world was built and I hope for more set in it.

My Opinion:

I totally enjoyed this time traveling trip. One of my favorite shows is set in Scotland (HINT) and it gives you the same vibe but with a different twist. You can't help falling in love with Torr in every page that you read. He's hot, loyal and fierce, just what you want in a sexy scottish man! =)

There is a ton of talk about his muscles - so that was a bit overused. I got it, that he was muscular, didn't need it repeated a hundred times. I also thought that the author could have used some more backstory with TMI. You get some but it just wasn't enough for me. I can see some spin offs of the whole TMI group which I hope there is. Still I liked Diana and Torr.

Diana is sent on a mission to make sure Torr dies in battle in two weeks. What she got was someone that makes her heart stop and she falls in love with him. Totally enjoyed these two. I like both of their characters and personalities and I totally would have done what Diana did! You will have to read and find out how this magical romance begins and ends and all the while you will enjoy the ride. I personally loved the heat between these two. I didn't like over usage of words, and thought it would have been a bit better had the author looked up some of the scottish dialect of that time. There were some words in here, that well, were just not used in that time. BUT, I did enjoy this tale! I would recommend the book for a fun, fast, hot read!

I give this book a 4 of 5 stars!

The whole concept of time travel gives me a headache. Seriously, I have trouble wrapping my mind around it, even though Outlander is my favorite book. Throw in Time Weavers, Disruptors and the like, and I'm almost lost. However, I'm so glad I stuck with it, or else I would have missed a really entertaining story. Once I stopped trying to figure out the logistics, I began to really like these characters.

Torr is one of my favorite type of heroes, a hot Scottish Highland laird. That brogue gets me every time. Diana is the time traveler, who is sent to Torr's time to make sure he dies, else the future will be changed. Oh, dear, that can't be good, especially when she falls for him! I really liked Diana. Though she could take care of herself, she was a sensitive woman. I was glad when she cried........dammit, I was crying, and I didn't want to cry alone!

I had no idea how the author was possibly going to be able to pull off a happy ending, as things were really looking bleak. But pull it off she did! The story was fun and exciting, and the loving was hot. I'm hoping to read more adventures about Diana's "clan".

I received a copy of this book courtesy of NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are strictly my own.

This was a great story. I felt for Diana in how conflicted she was. Love and duty are very terrible things to decide between. I'm not sure of her choices but I think she chose the best she could. It did make me interested enough to want to read more about these time agents. I hope I get the chance.

Amazing interaction and understanding of nuances of relationships. This story made time travel believable and brought new life to an old trope in romance. Lexi writes her stories from inspiration of classics. The old classics trigger "what if" ideas and she spins them into delightful stories.

This is the start of a series that I'm sure will be named Time Weavers Inc or something to that effect. It is a group the of time travelers who reset history to its proper timeline after the "Disruptors" have tinkered with it that has devastating consequences in the future. Diana Montgomery has gone back to 1306 to make sure Laird Torr MacPherson dies in a battle with Clan Comyn to spur Robert The Bruce to keep England from claiming Scotland. The problem is she falls in love with Torr and can't see him die. Oh dear, what's she gonna do???

Thank you Lexi and Entangled granting me a NetGalley ARC of this book for my honest opinion.

The future changes when someone changes the past so Diana Montgomery’s new family has to make sure every every event happens. It basically has the domino effect. As there are disruptors want to change the past!

Time traveler Diana knows better than to make friends or to get romantically involved with any of her subjects in the past. Yet with Laird, Corr MacPherson she just can’t help herself as he is a swoon and drool worthy man any red blooded woman would want! She has the dreaded assignment to make sure he dies in battle. He is a man that protects King Robert the Bruce of Scotland and his clan. Laird Corr MacPherson usual style, normally takes a different woman to his bed every few nights. He has lost many clan members and kin in battle and murder. He only has one brother left and he never expected to become laird of the MacPherson clan. This is his way of never getting attached to any specific lass and love is never even an option in this equation. As to his lovers it is even just an honor to even be asked.

Yet how can a woman who has tried to avoid personal relationships no matter what the cost. A big no no to even make friends with people in the past. Diana is one who never breaks the rules but how can she resist sexy hot blooded Corr MacPherson. An intelligent, braw, kind-hearted, protective laird who loves his family and clan most of all. Yet what if you were assigned to see the one care for most of all dies in battle. As this will save Scotland and keep the rightful King, Robert the Bruce on the throne. On Highland Time by Lexi Post

Torr is a highland laird who is supposed to die in a battle, but time travelers have disrupted the past, and changed events, which impacts the present. Diana is sent to the past to make sure he actually dies in battle, so the future can unfold the way it’s supposed to unfold.

I love the premise of this book; the idea is creative and lends itself to many possibilities. I will admit that knowing that Torr had to die in order for the future to unfold normally, dampened my enthusiasm for reading this book somewhat. I couldn’t imagine how the reader was going to get that happy ending... Let me just say that it is possible and is very creatively done without giving away any spoilers.

This book was an entertaining read. I love the way Lexi Post bases the premise for her books on stories from literature. This one is no exception.
