Everyone--EVERYONE--should read this book. Shraya's book is part memoir, part sociological critique, and the writing truly packs a punch. Wow!

If I had harboured any particular expectations before reading, this amazing little book would have exceeded all of them! I only picked it up because of the title but Vivek Shraya's raw and beautiful memoir simply blew me away. What she has to say about masculinity and about the complicity in patriarchy of each of us is sobering but necessary to hear. I had never heard of Shraya before but I'm sure to pick up her other books asap.
