Not being a fan of vigilante justice, I found this book to be quite disappointing. I was really hoping for that big twist that took the storyline in a different direction, unfortunately that didn’t happen. The pacing felt off somehow and the suspense never really built to that point where the pages literally turn themselves. The ending did have a small twist, but, overall the story needed to be developed more.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin-Mira for letting me read this book in exchange for my honest review. What a thrill ride! This book kept me guessing and wanting more. How far would you go to protect and avenge your child? Having children myself this really struck me as you don't know what you would do unless you were put in that situation. And that ending! Although I womdered if it would be heading that direction, I was still shocked. Such a great thriller, definitely recommend!

This was a good idea but with poor execution. Especially the outcome. It’s like the author ran out of good ideas or just didn’t have any good ideas and threw something together. There wasn’t much mystery or thrill either. This read isn’t one that will stick out in my mind and not one I’d recommend.

3 Stars - I don’t count this story as mystery/suspense/thriller! It dragged a lot. The plot wasn’t really good and I got bored and after reading 60% I started skimming and skipping. I enjoyed my first read by her (Best Friends Forever) but this one didn’t really work out for me, unfortunately! Maybe it was just me and not the book, as you can see all the good reviews! So don’t listen to me and read it, hope you enjoy it!
Thanks to Margot Hunt, Netgalley and HARLEQUIN - Mira for the advanced digital copy in exchange an honest review.

4.5 stars
What a book! An intense yet quick page turner is the most apt description ever. The book was almost addictive. It deals with some very touchy subjects and probably should come with a trigger warning for abuse. I enjoyed how the story is told from Nat and Will’s POVs. Both of them are very unlikable and seriously flawed. It’s like they deserve each other really! I found Nat to be bitchy, manipulating and controlling; while Will is spineless and weak. The ending was not the most convincing and realistic for me and that is one of the reasons I did not rate this one a 5.
Having said that, I enjoyed the moral dilemma this book presented. As a mother, I sure have had my mamma bear moments and I can understand why Nat and Will deal with the situation they do. Not all the plot twists were unpredictable but they were enjoyable all the same. The plot was well developed overall and I liked the parenthood angle immensely. The way their thoughts are presented make it a very interesting read.
Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin-Mira for giving me this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

How far would you go to help your significant other get away with murder? When Nat takes the law into her own hands to protect her family she knows she is crossing some lines. She is not going to allow a system that has many faults and cracks put her family in harms way. When her husband finds out what she has been doing he has no choice but to stick it out with her and get his hands in it as well.

Will they really get away with murder?

4⭐️—For Better and Worse by Margot Hunt

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Will and Nat meet in law school and on their first date plan the perfect murder. Never in a million years did they ever think they would have to put that plan into place.

This book was quite the page turner. I needed to know where it was heading and how I was going to get there. The story line was compelling and the fast pace was perfect. I even enjoyed the ending. So why only 4 you might be thinking. It was the characters. They were not my favorite. I was vested in the son, but I found Nat to be a bit much. I did not care what happened to her at all. Also, the husband was a wimp. I cannot fathom how they got married in the first place.

Minus that one tidbit, I did like the story and would recommend for a nice fast paced suspense novel!

The kindle copy of this book had lots of typos and the page layout for many chapters made difficult reading. Still I continued cause the plot was fairly interesting .But there are many points in the story that didn't seem plausible and too farfetched .The ending meant to be a twist or a cliff hanger also feels unbelievable. Though the writing and narrative style with alternating POV was good somehow I felt the book lacked the punch factor and was a let down in the major crucial points of the story.

If you like something tense then you’ll love this. Just bought her first book and look forward to getting stuck in.

I found this story intriguing. How far would you go to protect someone you love? How far is too far? Nat and Will meet in law school and Nat winds up a defense attorney. Their initial conversation about murder during school takes an interesting twist. This kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what will happen next. I would recommend to anyone looking for intrigue and a thrilling ride.

This was a great story that I could not put down! The characters are relatable. The plot was fast paced and very addicting, which is what I look for in a book. The element of suspense is what keeps you hooked!

I have just finished reading this book that shows how far a parent will go to protect their child. If your child is hurt by another there seems to be no end to what a parent will do. Anger overtakes sanity. A very good read which I am sure could cause a lot of discussion about who and what is right and wrong.

I really did like the book and was intrigued, but I won't say it's the best book I've ever read. Still, it was interesting and well-written, so kudos to the author! I enjoyed reading it and I hope it's successful!

Thank you for the opportunity to read this. Unfortunately, this left me with a feeling that this is an overly used plot line. I didn’t find the characters particularly likeable. It seems to have mixed reviews - either loved or not. Maybe it was because I’ve just come off some heavy and deep reads.

This story was a page turner from the beginning for me! After several years of married life, Natalie and Will don’t have the best marriage, not even on a good day. But when Natalie finds out why the police are at her son’s school, this becomes the least of the family’s problems.

What do you do when a crime has been committed affecting someone in your family, and as a defense attorney, you know all too well how legal system will let your family down. Do you take matters in your own hands? And if you do, could you think up the perfect plan?

I didn’t know where this story was going to end up, and I was worried maybe the ending might disappoint me, but I loved the fun twist at the end! If you love a great thriller like I do, you can whip right through this one and it will not disappoint!

The topic of this book was not something I would have chosen to read had I known beforehand, so for me personally, it was hard to get through. This is a mystery that like some others have said, was not difficult to figure out but the writing is good. All that said, this is a 3 star book for me.

This was another one I wanted to enjoy but I found it so predictable. It was an original idea but I just couldn't get the thrill of it. The twist was easy to figure out as well.

The blurb basically tells you most of what happens in the book. For me that already eliminates a “star”, there should be more mystery left for the reader to discover. Here is part of the blurb:

“Their young son Charlie’s principal is accused of molesting a troubled student. It’s a horrifying situation—and the poison spreads rapidly. One night before bed, Charlie tells Natalie he is a victim, too. In that moment, her concept of justice changes forever. Natalie decides the predator must die.

To shelter Charlie from the trauma of a trial, Natalie concocts an elaborate murder plot and Will becomes her unwilling partner. The Clarkes are about to find out what happens when your life partner becomes your accomplice—and your alibi “

To this reader I did not find that Natalie “concocted an elaborate murder plot” but a method of killing someone that has been used by hundreds of authors in mystery books for at least the last 50 years. So this was a huge disappointment, I was waiting for a unique murder plot but what I read was very mundane.

The main characters, Natalie, Will and Charlie were not very well described. We jump from law school to this event 15 years later in their marriage. I didn’t like either Natalie or Will, they were both self serving, narcissistic and completely dishonest with each other. I need to have characters that I can care about and understand.

The worst part of this book, for me, was that it took a very sensitive topic, children being molested, and turned it into a story of vigilante justice, which is never alright even if the crime committed is terrible, scary and horrific to parents. One of the police officers, Reddick, stated this well “You see, vigilantes piss me off. They keep me from doing my job. He pointed to himself. If you’d come to us, filed a report, we could have nailed that _____________. It’s how it’s supposed to go. We work the case, we take the bad guys down, they rot in jail for the rest of their lives. I believe in that system” . I guess I believe in that system also.

I was hoping for a really good ending, but that did not happen. The ending is very unbelievable and then the Epilogue One Year Later wasn’t any better.

I guess the two stars would be for an interesting premise and it did make me turn the pages and was a quick read. I will need to be more picky in choosing thrillers because I seem to be in the minority when it comes to this book.

I received an ARC of this book from the author through NetGalley.

Will post to public media upon publication.
