Natalie and Will Clark met in law school. On their first date they talked of being able to get away with the perfect murder. They marry and years later their talk from that date becomes more than a long ago conversation. This book was great! The characters were likable. The plot was believable and interesting. I read until the last page and didn't check once to see how many pages were left. I didn't skim through it or roll my eyes at the anything being overly described because there was no need. It is a well written story that grabbed my attention from the first page. For Better or Worse is a wonderful read. Bravo Margot Hunt, for writing a story that kept me reading and enjoying every minute of it.

There is something about relationships and not really knowing the person you're with that pull me in and keep me intrigued. For Better and Worse begins with Natalie and Will's first date, they are both in law school and jokingly discuss how to get away with murder.

Then 15 years later, the couple finds out that the principle of the school their son attends has been accused of molesting a student. When they find out their son was a victim too, the joking of 15 years ago begins to become reality. However things don't quite go as planned and start to spin out of control.

This was a book that kept me reading and wanting to find out what Natalie and Will would do next. It is told from both Natalie and Will's points of view with a quick pace and captivating story. I love reading books that keep me guessing.

This is the first time I have read anything by Margot Hunt, and she is definitely an author I would read again. "For Better and Worse" is the story of the Clarke family - Natalie, a criminal defense attorney; Will, a trust and estate attorney; and their 11-year-old son Charlie. Natalie and Will met in law school, and on their first date, Will joked that they were smarter than the average criminal and could probably plan the perfect murder. Little did they know that the joke would become reality years later when they find themselves in a situation where Charlie is victimized and Natalie is faced with an overwhelming desire to protect him from being picked apart by the criminal justice system.

The story is told in three parts - first from Natalie's point of view, second from Will's point of view, and finally again from Natalie's. There were several times throughout the book that I thought I knew what was going to happen, but I never guessed how this would end. The story was well-written, and the author did a great job of showing us exactly what kind of people Natalie and Will are. It will definitely keep your attention because you will want to know what's going to happen next, will their marriage survive, will the bad guys be brought to justice, and really what IS justice in this case? It's also obvious why the book is called "For Better AND Worse" instead of "For Better OR Worse."

I would definitely recommend picking this one up.

Honestly this was one of the best mystery books I've read in awhile. It wasn't one of the who did it books, it was more like holy crap what's going to happen next books. This book is about Natalie and her husband Will who back in law school and on their first date, joked that they could plan the perfect murder. After fifteen years of marriage that perfect murder idea gets tested when their son Charlie's school principal is accused of molesting young boys. When Charlie tells Natalie he was also a victim, Natalie decides that the law won't punish the predator enough and takes it into her own hands to exact what he deserves. After concocting a plot, her husband Will gets pulled into it also and becomes her unwilling partner.

In this book you never know what's going to happen next and the author keeps you guessing and in suspense throughout. Thank you so much to Harlequin Mira for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my review.

Will and Natalie meet in law school, and later get married. After a few years, and a son Charlie, life seems to enter a phase where their relation seems to be losing its shine. Their life comes under severe strain when Charlie’s principal is accused of molesting a child. Will and Natalie have known him well and are not sure what the truth is. The student who has made the accusation has had problems in the past.

Very quickly Will and Natalie find themselves getting involved more deeply. They are concerned on the impact all this will have on Charlie. Natalie especially is determined that she will do anything to keep her son safe. Very soon Will and Natalie find themselves in a very complex situation and possibly on the wrong side of the law. Will has a few things to hide which complicates things further. It is tough to add anything more to the story without introducing spoilers, and hence I stop here.

This is an extremely well written book – a strong storyline, great characterization and very fast paced. Highly recommended!

This was a great story. First time l have read this author and thoroughly enjoyed her style of writing so will be reading more of her. Couldn't wait to get to the end, waiting for the twist. Thanks Netgalley.

Read this book in two days and loved it. I always love a good thriller or mystery but this was a different subject for me. It really got me thinking what would I do? Nat and wills son Charlie reveals he was molested by the principal . Nat and will decide not to go to the police and Nat takes matters into her own hands. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time wondering what would happen next. The ending was the best part of the book. I wish there was a second one because I really want to know if will messages Jaimie the woman he had an affair with and what Nat does. In the beginning she says it's a one time thing that she's not a sociopath but the ending had me wondering if she really is.

Margot Hunt's For Better and Worse is WOW! This book is a fast-paced psychological thriller with a twist of woman's fiction that does NOT disappoint! The characters, story, and writing are fantastic & realistic. Will & Natalie devised a plan on how to get away with murder while they were students in law school, Years later the couple is married and are the proud parents of 11-year-old Jacob when a once upon a time fictitious murder plan is put in motion? Nat knows how traumatizing a trial is for child witnesses and that a conviction is never guaranteed. She wants to protect her son and punish the man that hurt him. She thinks back to her first date with Will and devises a plan. But how easy is it really to execute the perfect crime?

I read the premise and knew that I just had to read For Better and Worse. I am so thankful to MIRA Books for presenting me with a free copy in exchange for an honest review. I was so excited to get reading and was not disappointed. I love fast-paced crime novels and this was it. Though I have to say it was actually too fast paced. There was so much more potential in the premise that Margot Hunt could have explored. The story just flew by me with one revelation following the next.

But even though the story was so fast paced, it did the two main characters justice. Will was so real and believable as a father and husband, who is unhappy in his marriage. He is the parent figure who wants to let the justice system do its work and thus get justice for his child. Nat on the other hand is the complete opposite and thus way more intriguing. She is unpredictable and her train of thoughts and decisions are erratic. At some point it is suggested that she might be a sociopath and I would have loved to have learned more of her inner thoughts and the exact process as to how she went from lawyer and mother to killer.

What really disappointed me though was that the perfect murder plot was not very developed. I won’t go into detail, so that I don’t spoil anything. But compared to Nat’s character that plot line was very weak indeed. I thought For Better and Worse would have the perfect murder and it’s development in a more prominent role and I was really looking forward to it.

I think For Better and Worse is a good book with a lot more potential. I would read a book by Margot Hunt again, as I did find the writing and the plot easy to follow and it makes for a good train ride book

5 stars please view blog Hunt drew me in right away. I absolutely loved the characters. Even though I struggled with the idea of a child being molested at at school I couldn't put the book down. I have two young sons and this book put me immediately in their shoes. I loved when Jacob was the narrator and I felt for him throughout even though he wasn't the most lovable of characters. The ending was absoutley wonderful. There are so many times in books were the ending isn't my favorite or I the twist is too upsetting. I recommend this book highly and plan on reading more by Hunt soon.

This book easily pulled me into its storyline. Nat and Will were law students when they first met. After having their son, Charlie (Jacob in other editions?) they send him to a fancy private school. One day, Nat pulls up to the school and there are several police cars only to find out that the principal has been arrested for possible child molestation. The catch is, both Nat and Will know the principal very well and were quite chummy with him and his ex-wife when they lived in the same neighborhood several years back. The child who told the police is a foster child and Nat is skeptical about whether or not this child is a credible witness or if he just wants attention. That is until Charlie tells Nat that the principal touched him inappropriately as well. Nat devises a plan that will change the lives of her family forever. 

This book was excellently written. It had all of the details necessary to form a complete picture in the reader's mind. I found that the story also made me wonder if Nat did the right thing or if she should have gone about it a whole other way. What would have happened? Would justice have been served? The ending to the book was a little unbelievable, however, I do think things like this happen without the general public knowing. A fast-paced, what's-going-to-happen-next kind of book that will keep you reading into the early hours.

Wow! I was literally obsessed with reading this book. From the very first page until the very last sentence I was hooked.

Fast moving and nail biting. What a great novel that really touched on very relevant topics. Marriage and fidelity, work stress and of course protection of our children. How far will we go to protect the ones we love and what are they really capable of?

I was so happy with the ending. Sometimes when getting into a really great book it leads to very disappointing ending. Not this one! Cannot wait to get my hands on Margot Hunt's other novels.

I went into this book with really high hopes and it didn't disappoint. It makes you wonder what would you do if it was you. The story line was really good, but it wasn't quite a thriller. I was pretty invested in the outcome of this story and I appreciated there being a strong female narrator. For this genre I expected a little more, but it was still both a good and easy read.

Wow this is an awesome book. I think the title is deceiving. The story is not what you think it is by reading the title. This book pulled me in from page 1. The main idea of the story is about a middle school principal who is a pedophile who happened to abuse his good friend's son ...... and then all the drama begins. That's what Natalie Clark thinks when she find out out someone has molested her young son. Better to get rid of him quietly that put her child through the stress and stigma of a trial.

This book takes a look it what it really take to get away with murder. How much can you really trust your spouse? Can he or she be keeping secrets that can bring you both down?

This book was fast paced and kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen and how it was going to end!

I was given an ARC of this book for my honest opinion. AND OH my goodness. This book hooked me from the very beginning. I loved it. The writing is not overwhelming in its details but draws you in slowly. . The characters are very believable, and you really do want to be friends with them. . The plot is could be happen in today's society. and is unlike anything i have read previously .The story is faced pace and has you at the edge of you seat. There were times I was screaming at the characters. You, really can not imagine what is coming next, A great drama. I am looking forward to the next book.

A wonderful suspense, right on point! Touches on a lot of sensitive subjects, and the turns and twists are never ending.
Could you put yourself in the mothers shoes and imagine your son accuses his principal of inappropriately touching him? What would you do?? And we also get to hear from the perspective of the husband and father, could you stand behind your wife if she took matters into her own hands?
All that and more. Highly recommended.

For Better and Worse by Margot Hunt is a physiological thriller told in dual POV's of the two main characters - Natalie and Will Clarke. They originally met in law school and then the novel fasts forward to 14 years later and Natalie and Will have a son named Jacob who attends an private school where the principal has been accused of molesting a child. Despite the rocky relationship between Natalie and Will, Natalie has a great relationship Jacob and he confines in her that the principal has also touched him inappropriately. Since Natalie is a defense lawyer, she knows all about what may happen to Jacob if this goes to trial, she has decided to take things into her own hands and murder Robert now knowing that these accusations are true.

Margot Hunt does a fantastic job of breaching a subject that's very taboo without pushing the boundaries too hard. Natalie will do whatever it takes to protect her son. The twists and turns were endless, right up to the last chapter!

I especially liked when the POV changed to Will - I was not expecting that and the insight into his thoughts was the frosting on top of a delicious cake!

The only reason I couldn't give this fantastic thriller a full 5 stars was because of the slower parts before about 45%. After that though... so hard to put down!

I really liked this book, it would have been a five star read for me if it was not for the ending. The ending was far fetched but don't let that stop you from picking this book up. The author got me right away with really good writing and a fast paced story line, the first 3/4 of the book really had me hooked.. The two main characters of husband and wife are well fleshed out and I could put myself in the wife's shoes up until something happens and then I couldn't anymore. In any event, I would still recommend to someone who likes to read well thought out characters and fluid writing.
