This is the first book in this series that I have read; while it's part of a series it can be read as a standalone.

I think the story had all the right parts to be interesting, nail biting and full of angst...but it wasn't. Everything came together easily and quickly which took some of the story away in my opinion. Frankie has no reservations when it's revealed that Trick is her mate; she has no reservation about getting involved with Trick even before he reveals he's her mate.

I would have liked to read more about her life growing up away from the pack. Maybe a few flashbacks; how did she learn she was part shifter? More details should have been provided regarding her first shift since she was all alone.

The mystery surrounding her parents' death was overdone in my opinion; it was constantly rehashed throughout the entire book. The reason for the death was interesting, but also overdone considering we had just read about a similar situation between Frankie and Rio. The who was fairly predictable from nearly the beginning of the story. The fact that the person didn't work alone and why was interesting. Personally I think that should have been explored more.

Overall not bad...the story was slow at times and it struggled to hold my interest.

I absolutely LOVED Frankie and Trick! I hate Frankies mom's side of the family though. And my heart is absolutely breaking for Bracken.

Suzanne Wright is One of My favorite authors ever. Wild hunger follows Trick and Frankies relationship and mating and it's probably one of my favorite in the series.
I like how careful Trick is with Frankie but not putting her beneath him ...how easy Frankie accepts her mating and let's be real,no one can write a mating book like Suzanne Wright. Five stars!

Book 2 in the Phoenix Pack series - Jamie and Dante - has aways been my very favorite. But, seriously, Wild Hunger could rival that one. I really adore this series. I've not loved every book in it the same, but all together, they have painted a larger, wonderful picture in an exciting world that I'm always happy to revisit.

This is Trick's book. He's been around since the very beginning, and I loved his story of finding his mate. I especially loved Frankie. She was not a female who played games and wanted to deny him or his claim to her. No - she knew what the score was, accepted it, and embraced it. And for that, she may be my favorite female in this entire series.

The side story of Frankie trying to figure out what really happened with her parents was an intriguing mystery with twists and turns that kept me engaged right down until nearly the last page.

As long as Suzanne Wright keeps writing about these awesome shifters, I'll keep reading about them.

Typical Suzanne Wright awesomeness! The h kicks up zero drama and I enjoyed the hell out of that. This quote from the H pretty much summed it right up... “No acting like she was there under protest. No lies or bullshit. No playing it cool. It was fucking refreshing.”

This was my first Suzanne Wright book and it was a good one. I was a little worried I'd be missing out on the story and characters because I didn't start the series in order but my worries were mostly unfounded (there were a few times I was a little confused or felt like I'm missing the point but not many of them). Sadly I felt the characters were two dimensional, and there were so many it was difficult, at times, to keep up with who was who. I also felt like there wasn't anything else particularly outstanding in the storyline. Just same old stuff I've read in other books with other authors before. But otherwise, if you get past that, Wild Hunger was a fun and sexy book. It was a beautiful look into Frankie and Trick’s love story. The journey to their HEA is, as one would expect, full of intrigue, danger and of course passion. The suspense leading up to the return of Frankie's memory is also a definite page turner.
Overall, it wasn't a bad book. If you’re a Suzanne Wright fan, or fan of shifter romance, you are going to love reading Wild Hunger.

Another fantastic instalment in the Phoenix Pack Saga. The writing as usual was on point enticing us with Suzanne's unique brand of humour and sexiness. My favourite thing about this book is my favourite thing about all of Suzannes's books and that is the kick-ass female's and the protective Alpha males that love them.

This may be the 7th in the series but Wright is still going strong, each book can be read as a standalone but once you've read one you'll read the rest.

The blurb had me a tad hesitant to read as I didn't like the sound of Frankie - but boy was I wrong and so is the blurb - she's strong, and her 'fragile state' is not so fragile, yes she's going through a tough and emotionally crazy time but her strength is clear, as is Trick's need to be there for her but not overwhelm her as she deals with secrets, her past, and family conflict.

Frankie may look delicate and innocent but love her snark and strong personality, same with Trick he may be an enforcer and not an alpha but he is all alpha male - the type you cannot help but love.

Downloaded this as soon as it became available via kindle unlimited and do not regret the night of no sleep as I read until the end.

I love the feeling of being swept up in a story. Suzanne Wright has a knack of giving me just the right balance of suspense, angst, humour and romance. What sets her books apart from so many others is her ability to make a shifter world take on human dynamics in a realistic and fun way. The worlds she has created mesh together into a familiar rich community of shifters.

In Wild Hunger, Frankie finds herself meeting the side of her family she has long been denied. A family she had no idea existed. The more she becomes acquainted with the Phoenix pack, she feels more and more at home. When Trick recognises the mating pull from her, it gives him an inner peace that helps him muster the patience Frankie needs to adjust to the idea.

Frankie’s life has been clearly mapped out for her by her mother’s family. From the moment they took her in after her parent’s deaths, her future was manipulated to ensure a life that excluded her wolf. Of course, the creative drive she poured into her artwork was a constant reminder that she couldn’t be tamed. Her creativity maintained her sanity and provided her with a level of independence. Trick values and adores Frankie, seeing her art as an extension of his mate to be.

The laid back flow of the relationship made this the perfect comfort read. I was able to read a few chapters at a time, returning to the story as my time allowed. The mysteries provided a challenge we were all determined to solve during the buddy read and I believe looking back over our transcript it was Sparkles who called it first. The revelation and the way the drama unfolded left me with the belief the culprit’s motivations were not as well plotted as the romance was. I still had fun and I am pleased to say the eye rolling moments were minimal.

I’ve hashed out my thoughts on the claiming the mate in every possible way in our buddy read. I get it, but it doesn’t mean I am not slowly getting bored by it all. There were other tangents the story dealt with which initially were done well but then by the end of the book I thought they had been overused. Not a lot of substances to the mystery at the end of the day but the romance was spot on. The ass end of the story didn’t help my eyeball rolling moment but then again, I was bracing myself for it It was a 4 star read right up until the cabin scene and then the pace slowed down more than I wanted it to.

If you’re a Suzanne Wright fan, you are going to love reading Wild Hunger. It will take you to your happy chilled place and discover another perfect comfort read.

Ok, full disclosure, I am a huge fan of the Phoenix Pack series and it's companion series The Mercury Pack. I had an idea of what to expect and those expectations were incredibly high!
Because I both read this book and listened to it on Audible this review will cover the story and the narration.
Finally it's time for Tricks story, and what a story it is. As with this whole series (which can be read individually but works best and it at it's most enjoyable when read in the correct order.

Phoenix pack member Lydia has made contact with her niece Frankie ,who was raised by her human mothers parents after the death of both her parents. The only witness was a very small Frankie in the murder/ suicide of her parents and she has no memory of the horrific incident. When Frankie replies to Lydia's message it is obvious that she has absolutely no clue about her paternal biological family (In fact her grandparents had lied to her since her parents died.) Lydia's mother is dying after the recent loss of her mate.and it is her wish to see her granddaughter one more time. Frankie agrees to meet Lydia (accompanied by some of the Phoenix pack) to discuss the situation. As soon as Trick sees Frankie her is completely certain that he is face to face with his true mate!
While this story is growing there is also a problem from another pack, (who have been put together with a selection of violent loners and defeated packs who are threatened with death if they don't comply) they want war with the humans and attempt to convince Trey that it is in his best interests to join their cause. Trey is not interested in war. Despite being known as a complete psycho, Trey's aim in life is to support his loved ones, (Mate, cubs and pack) and protect their home from intrusion.
I don't want to give more details because it would be easy to accidentally give a spoiler however I will say that this is worth every single star that I have awarded it,
I absolutely loved this book but should state that it is maybe not for everyone. There is graphic violence and graphic sex scenes however the violence is in keeping with the story and the sexual content is always about love, passion and a deep connection.
I have seen prior criticism (on other books in the series) that all of the books follow a formula, and to some extent I agree that is true. However the similarities are about the very nature of shifter's and their natural lifestyles. There is always a strong other story-line accompanying those similarities.

This was a very good story, smooth writing likable characters and sexy hot. A must read Fantasy romance!!!!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really love reading this series. It's unique. Werewolves are real, humans know about them but not everyone likes them.

Frankie is a great female lead. She snarky, sarcastic, and artistic. Frankie is half wolf, half human. She was (mostly) raised by her grandparents after her mother was tragically killed and her father died. She never got to see anyone in her pack again. In fact, her grandparents had lied to her for her entire life. She never knew she was from a pack at all. Her paternal grandmother is sick and wishes to see her before she does.

Enter Trick, our hero. If you've read the previous books you know who he is. He goes to meet Frankie with Lydia (her aunt) and instantly recognizes his true mate. Frankie doesn't see him as hers yet. Trick is surprisingly patient yet bold in his pursuit of her. He was actually very sweet.

Trivk works to win her over while together they find there may have been more to her parents deaths then previously thought.

Overall, I like the book but it wasn't my favorite in the series. There was alot of relationship angst about or from the hero's previous love interests. I hated Frankie's human family. I get where they came from but what is best for a child may not be for an adult. They ended up hurting her more then anything. I still will recommend the book to readers of the series.

I really enjoyed this one. There is a lot less violence going on here than in the other Phoenix and Mercury books, which allows the story to focus on Frankie and Trick and their relationship. But there is still enough conflict to keep things exciting. I loved both of the protagonists, and they were good for each other. The characters in these two series are what makes this such a great series. I hadn't really paid much attention to Trick previously, but after reading his story he's one of my favorites!

Both the Phoenix Pack and Mercury Pack series continue to be must reads for me. In fact, there hasn't been a series from Suzanne Wright that I didn't fall in love with.

Trick is just like all the other alpha males in the pack. Stubborn, dominant, set in his ways, but also really sweet and willing to take a step back when its called for. I found his willingness to give Frankie time to figure things out quite refreshing. Don't get me wrong, he was there for every moment, but he didn't push her for anything she wasn't ready for. Frankie fit right in with the other woman of the Phoenix Pack. I loved her snark, her interactions with Trey's mom, and her determination at every step of the book. Together they made a really cute, strong couple and worked really well together.

I enjoyed the mystery of WILD HUNGER. I had some clues about what was going on after a bit, but I still thoroughly enjoyed the big reveal. We also get the big action scene at the end that we're used to with this series, but it came on multiple fronts which was a nice surprise.

If you are new to either this or the Mercury Pack series, make sure you read them in release order. They compliment each other perfectly and you can get your fix quicker by reading both. There are only a few Phoenix Pack members left to find their mates, but I will be reading about them as soon as I am able to get my hands on them.

“I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher via #NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review”

I have been an avid fan of Suzanne Wright's Phoenix Pack books since "Feral Sins", but I can honestly say that Wild Hunger may be my favorite of the series. Trick has always been in the background for me; sort of vague, but interesting. I liked how the author handled his sexual history and how adamant he was about how gender wasn't important to him; only SHE was. He was laser locked on the heroine, Frankie, from the first moment. No fighting, no doubts, no angst; just a dominant/possessive, but attuned male who was there for his mate. And what a heroine the author gave us. Frankie was strong and independent without being bull-headed or stubborn. She never had a TSTL moment and although she was justifiably hesitant of Trick and the pack, she wasn't closed off. She was a great mix of smart, sweet, tough, vulnerable, quirky, and grounded, She handled her relationship with her maternal family in a believable way that never came across as whiny or self pitying, and stood up for herself to them in a way that was just so dang adult and reasonable. The relationship between Trick and Frankie progressed at a believable rate and they ACTUALLY COMMUNICATED WITH EACH OTHER. I loved that they were adults about it and there were no huge misunderstandings.

I enjoyed the suspense portion of the story and how it tied directly into the main characters' story arc. The inclusion of so many characters from previous books can be a bit confusing if the prior books in this and the Mercury Pack series haven't been read, but the author does do a little info/character dump towards the beginning of the book that helps to clarify all the ties (sort of - it is still a lot!) My only quibble is that I thought the different threads of the plot maybe dovetailed a little too conveniently, but it is a minor quibble. I loved the heck out of this book and cannot wait for the next installment.

"Wild Hunger " by Suzanne Wright

***a special thank you to Montlake Romance, Suzanne Wright, and Netgalley for providing an ARC for this review!

SYNOPSIS
When half–wolf shifter Frankie Newman receives an e-mail from a family member she didn’t know existed, a secret is revealed: as a child, Frankie witnessed her father killing her mother…and then himself. Frankie was torn from her pack by her mother’s human relatives, and the trauma was erased from her memory. Realizing that she’s been lied to her entire life, she’s never felt more alone. Until she catches the scent of an old friend—warmly familiar and intoxicating.

Trick Hardy, alpha wolf of the Phoenix Pack, can sense the rush of mutual attraction when he sees Frankie again. He knows immediately that she’s his true mate. But he also knows that, given her fragile state, he needs to tread with care—no matter how fierce his surging desires.

As aroused as Frankie is by Trick’s darkly dominant air and simmering desire, her priority right now is her past—not her future, no matter how tempting. But as more secrets emerge and Frankie’s life is threatened, Trick must do everything he can to keep her close and safe. After all, it’s their destiny.

uhhh omg this author continues to make me obsessed with everyone in this series, seriously I always reread them before every new release - not because I forget but because I enjoy reading them! This book did not disappoint, I have been awaiting Tricks novel since the moment my boy became the 'teller of bonds'. I think my favorite part was the sheer difference from the others, sure it had similar obstacles as all the others do (ill be honest though, lets shake it up and try something different yes?) but it was different in the interaction and initial bond between Trick and Frankie. They enterance of her character was new enough to not totally throw me off, but still close to make connections to previous books. You didn't feel lost regarding if you have never read this series (THOUGH I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO!) and it was all connected enough to say 'hey remember this badass'? Such an amazing read!

CHARACTERS
Trick - how long have I been waiting for his book? HOW LONG! many books, that how long! I loved Trick, he was so much fun reading about in all the other books - he's like that pesky best friend that knows your future even before you think you yourself know, but he's like, super asshole smug about it the whole time. Also, he's like the king of "I told you so". Personally, I enjoyed the interaction and the initial feelings he experiences with Frankie - I like that he's all for having someone who holds your entire heart in their hands. He's open and not afraid to challenge, but also patient to let people be weak and slow. He was always one of my favorites and I was super pleased to read his book! it was (as expected honestly) an amazzzzzing read.
Frankie - finally, a female character who a. doesn't mind being vulnerable with someone b. accepts that sometimes things that are moving to fast must simply be accepted (aka the bond) and c. is super fucking cool and needs a million more books with her in it. I loved how she as a character internally dealt with things, she didn't shy away, but she was real enough to be hesitant to trust in other people after ... certain events. Did I mention she's a sculptor who creates creepy shit? no? well she's a sculptor who creates creepy shit... and I want them.
THE STORY
please mind me for a moment while I take the time to overtly fangirl about this freaktastic author and her ability to make me laugh, keep every story super unique, but repetitive enough to know its going to be a struggle and a great reward. I love that Suzanne Wright can make every story unique, I loved the change in pace from all her other books in this one - I loved that the initial bond between the two characters was accepted as a "thing" and was bound to happen, but they wanted time to build into each others lives before saying "well lets play the mattress mumbo and go for a bite that essentially will bind us for eternity" ... it was nice. Seriously though, the pacing of this book was a bit slow, ill be honest to admit it did hit moments where I wanted to flip the pages to get onto the point, but every moment I started to feel that urge BAM - she leaves me wanting more with a newfound twist in the story. A+

Wild Hunger is the continuation in the Phoenix Pack Series focusing on one of the enforcers ‘Trick’ a new character ‘Frankie’.

Frankie is a half wolf shifter who’s personality and creativity made me love her straight away! She unlike most shifters lives with her maternal human family and and unbeknownst to her has a paternal shifter family that her human family have been hiding from her. However when she receives an email from Grace (one of the Phoenix shifter’s) the secret is revealed that she had a shifter family who cares for her even though she hasn’t been in their lives for years but also a bigger secret about the death of her parents. During this she meets a dominant alpha male ‘Trick’ who as soon as meeting realises she is his true mate! This like all the previous books by Suzanne Wright got me to start and not stop until I finished! I loved the characters and plot as well as seeing the previous pack members, I’m still dying to read Dominic’s book which I hope is soon! Definitely would recommend to those who loves this Shifter series as well as fans of a light paranormal series!

I am an avid fan of all of Ms. Wright's work and this one is no different. If you have read the series then you know it was only a matter of time before Trick met his true mate. Frankie is a half human/half shifter who has lived only with humans until one day she receives a letter that changes her life. Filled with angst, action, sarcastic witty banter (as per usual) and hot sex scenes I was delighted that Trick and Frankie found there HEA. 4 stars!!!

This is Book 7 in The Phoenix Pack. It can be read as a stand-alone book. This is the first book of the series that I have read, and it was really good. Frankie is a half-wolf shifter who was raised by her mother’s human family. Frankie’s parents were a murder-suicide or, so the story goes. She receives a letter from her father’s wolf pack and decides to meet them. This is when she meets Trick, the enforcer of the pack. This was such a good story. There’s love, romance, family and a mystery. What more can you ask for in a good book? It’s all here. When you meet Greta, you will be meeting a character in a half. She’s gruff but loves her boys. I really recommend you reading this book. Now I have to go back and read the first six books in the series. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book that I received from Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
