Overall this book features good information and I see it being useful for managers or supervisors of a work team. It was more dry and textbook like than I expected it to be. There are several step by step example sheets which could be helpful for some, but didn't interest me. The book comes across as drawn out to make the information fit into a book when it could be accomplished in a few spreadsheets or a short presentation. It's a worthwhile book but I wouldn't buy it. I'd borrow it from a friend or the library.

The Pomodoro Technique is a quick read on how to more effectively manage your time and workload and improve your productivity. I appreciated the emphasis on simplifying your routine, prioritizing your tasks and breaking them down into thoughtful steps, and creating necessary boundaries with your time. This book outlines techniques for both individuals and teams and provides worksheets and examples for tracking progress and troubleshooting.

I've tried a variety of techniques for streamlining my daily and weekly tasks but hadn't considered tracking interruptions and categorizing them to be dealt with later. Readers will likely find this exercise eye-opening. I'm already noticing a difference in how I view and prioritize tasks, and I feel more focused when I approach my daily to-do lists. If you're interested in a simple but effective time-management system, I recommend trying the Pomodoro technique.

"The Pomodoro Technique" is a block-based time management system to focus on specific tasks and drive them to completion. In this age of multi-tasking and non-stop distractions, the ability to carve out time to accomplish tasks and activities seems to be harder and harder to achieve. With this book, the author takes his "simple kitchen timer" technique and also shows how it can be applied to team work environments. This book provides a good overview to implementing this focus system and I can see the benefit of having it in the knowledge toolbox - it may not apply in all scenarios but there are definitely times when this would be a great way to power through activities.

I use the Pomodoro Technique daily as I work as well as during chores in the house. I've even taught it to my husband and kids. This book really helped me to refine my practice and make the Pomodoro Technique work in multiple situations.
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

In a very pithy book, Cirillo explains the time management technique that he had developed years ago. In this new edition, apart from a few use cases focused on the use of the technique in team setting, there is nothing new. Even at its core, the premise is simple - time boxing of activities and monitoring interruptions. The specific steps in the process and associated monitoring worksheets are useful for anyone new to time management techniques.
