I honestly feel bad for not liking this, because having read a number of Albert's books I can definitely say she's a solid author to go to for some fluff and feels. But I just didn't click with this one.
I didn't really connect with the characters or get invested in the story.
Having really loved some of the other books in this series, this is probably my least favourite.

I've really liked all of the other books in this series except for book two with whiny, snively, Eeyore (otherwise known as Apollo). I think though that this one just jumped in to my most disliked of the series.

I was annoyed straight out of the gate with the constant talk at the beginning about Spencer being "old" and "aging". FFS he was 43 not 73! Then after about 20% the age difference was never mentioned again and never discussed as an issue in their relationship. Which is fine that it was not an issue but gah, why did we have to hear about it endlessly then?

I didn't like Spencer. I never warmed up to him at all. I thought he was a selfish ass and even when he tries to make things right after hurting Bacon I wasn't feeling it. It was all about how sad he was and how he couldn't write or sleep. It took him until the last few pages of the book to look at how his actions made Bacon feel. He even jacks up the epilogue with the worst (view spoiler) I legit wanted them to break up and for Bacon to find someone else. (Bacon was awesome......as bacon usually is)

The book just drug for me. One of those where you keep looking at the percentage mark hoping it's almost over and then being all bummed cuz you're only at 65%. I skimmed all of the sex scenes from 75% on cuz I just wanted to be done.

Even the appearances of two previous couples (ones I loved) couldn't save this for me. If I was rating this on enjoyment I would rate this a 2 star. Since it was written well and it's AA who usually doesn't let me down, I'm going with a 3 star. Let it be written in the stars though that I actually dislike Spencer more than Apollo which is saying a lot.

Playful, sexy, and full of genuine emotion!

Tight Quarters is a gritty, sensual, military romance featuring the reliable, confident, skilled Petty Officer Bacon and the mature, principled, successful Spencer Bryant as they learn firsthand the power of attraction and discover a sense of purpose, passion, and fulfillment beyond their careers.

The writing is ardent and fluid. The characters are hot-blooded, tenacious, and supportive. And the alluring plot is a perfect mix of slowing burning seduction, suspense, danger, action, adventure, palpable chemistry, SEAL team dynamics, journalistic integrity, and unconditional love.

Tight Quarters is the sixth novel in the Out of Uniform series, and it's definitely one of my favourites. I'm not sure how Albert continues to do it, but this series keeps getting better and better and continues to leave me wanting more.

This was my first foray into this genre. I can't honestly say that I enjoyed this book; the difference in ages between the two main characters was a concern for me -- it felt as if the younger character was being a bit manipulated by the older man, but, hey, maybe it just wasn't my cup of tea.

The characters were well-developed and the author definitely worked hard to show the romance and affection the couple had for each other.

Bacon and Spencer are a smouldering couple who's inevitable sexy encounters are hot, hot, hot! But Albert gives us time to get to know them, and for them to circle each other so the sex comes from place of knowing each other and caring, rather than (as well as) a place of physical attraction.

These Out of Uniform books follow a clear path--the missions, the camaraderie between team members, the hidden secrets and the sacrifice these men make for their country--combined with the romance, often taking place in hiding and alone. It's a formula that works very well, and the connections between characters from the different books are welcome. It's lovely to catch up with previous couples and glimpse their near-perfect lives.

I will continue to read these as long as Albert keeps writing them. Thanks to publisher and netgalley for advanced copy. Tight Quarters will be out on July 8.

Annabeth Albert has done it again! Another amazing addition to this addictive series! Bacon and Spencer's story is one book that is NOT to be missed! Tight Quarters is full of emotion, and chemistry that is off the charts. The intensity, and attraction between Spencer and Bacon is so beautiful, I found myself falling quickly for these two men. I couldn't put their book down! Any lover of M/M, Military stories with a touch of opposites attracting, are going to love this book. I am highly recommending it!

If you haven't started the Out of Uniform series, I highly recommend all 6 books. This series is beautifully written, and will keep you coming back for more! I can't wait for the 7th book to come out next!

Won’t lie, I wanted this ARC simply because I loved the cover😍

I’m gonna be honest, I did overall enjoy this book, but it took me awhile to get into it. There was a lot going on when I started this including book hangovers, so starting books is hard for me when my mind is elsewhere, so I’ll blame it on that because honestly Spencer & Bacon are hot. And yes, Bacon is sizzling, I definitely enjoyed him most.

This is your normal m/m book with some added drama and a bit of angst. Chemistry and passion is undeniably heavy in this book😍. So if I love just chemistry, hotness, and passion, oh and throw in sexy, this book would hands down be 5 stars. I just didn’t get the WOW factor on the rest. Yet still, it worked with the added bonuses of above =))

4.5***** This book was a pleasant surprise for me, it was a much more serious, emotional and thought-provoking story than I was expecting having not read any of the other books in this series. I loved the chemistry between Bacon and Spencer and I loved how the chemistry grew into something much more important than either wanted or expected. Starting off with Spencer becoming embedded into Bacon's SEAL team and a conflict of interest during the mission and after due to Spencer wanting to write about some serious issues within the military. The issue of homophobic talk within Bacon's SEAL team and the fact he hadn't revealed his own sexual persuasion was a big one that was dealt with well. While the issues of PTSD and suicide within the military and the lack of support for those who serve was explored through Spencer and his wish to expose it to help others. I found I was completely absorbed in the missions that Bacon and co were involved in and found the after effects of them on the emotional wellbeing of the team members to be very thought-provoking. I am encouraged to read more of the books in this series and recommend this book.

4.5 Stars.

I absolutely love this series. As a retired military officer I need my military romances to be realistic if not always 100% accurate. This series always does that along with characters I love, a bit of angst and some hot sex. This book was no exception to that and it gave us two characters that I really loved, with interesting backstories. I loved both Bacon and Spencer. They were honest, deep and moving characters.

I loved both Bacon's commitment to his profession and to him team and Spencer's commitment to his journalistic integrity. I loved that the two men communicated with each other and respected each other even if they didn't always agree. The UST in the first half of this book was smoking hot and I enjoyed the slow burn. The second half slows down a bit once the mission is over but in a good way that balanced out the book. The emails back and forth were sweet and a great way to see how they interacted between the times they could be together. Although the sex was hot I also loved that there was a lot more to their relationship and that they were there for each other and enjoyed taking care of each other.

The conflict fit the story and was believable and added just the right amount of angst to the story. I found the resolution to be believable and heart warming. I liked the compromise and the way they worked it out. I also of course enjoyed the secondary characters and catching glimpses of previous characters from Wizard, Maddox and of course Wes and Dustin. I also enjoyed the new characters including Oscar and the way he fit into this book.

While this wasn't my favorite in the series it is right up there at the top and I highly recommend this military M/M book!

I've enjoyed quite a bit of Annabeth Albert's books. I love her characters, who always seem so real to me, and most importantly, are always people I feel I'd actually like to be friends with. Her characters are always nice, good people, and honestly, in these times, that's who I want to read about.

My only quibble with Annabeth Albert's books, especially the Gaymers and Portland series, is that I always feel they're too short. I'd like to spend hours more with her characters.

Despite loving both the Gaymers and the Portland series, I was hesitant about her Out of Uniform series - I'm a pacifist from Europe, SEALs aren't always my cup of tea, and there's a couple of tropes in the first two books that aren't really my jam. So I lost track of Albert a little.

Until I saw this book available at Netgalley, at just the right time when I was in the perfect mood for it. An embedded journalist catching feelings? Sign me up!!

And as always, Albert won me over with her characters. They're just so likeable and genuinely good people, I rooted for them from the start. The first part, with Spencer tagging along with Bacon on a mission, was really awesome, the right amount of tension and attraction, the right amount of action, and a whole lot of conflict of interests. I ate it all up. It all slowed down a little once the story moved off-base, and while I still liked them (and appreciated that the book-plot thingy wasn't a Secret that lead to a Big Misunderstanding), I did feel like that phase of their relationship, where they're feeling each other out but not putting their feelings on the table, was spun out a little too long. Which made the resolution feel a little hasty in comparison, and made me want to read more about their Happy Ever After, after reaching the ending.

Still, I really enjoyed this, fell in love with Bacon and Spencer both, and am definitely hooked for other books in the series.

Annabeth Albert writes about characters I love to read about, and I don't see that changing any time soon.

(¸.★¨*.¸¸.•`★¤My favorite OUT OF UNIFORM so far.¤★¨*.¸¸.*ˑ˞★

From the first page to the last, I just knew. This book entranced me unlike any of the others. It felt so surreal and captivating and had me on the edge of my seat, missing dinner and text messages alike. I needed to know just how Spencer, the award winning journalist who found his way embedded in Officer Bacon's team to write a story, would react to each other and how they would survive what was flowing through them.

Oh my lort!! The chemistry these two emitted was waiting to ignite and I love the push and pull that the author wrote about. I have been with the Out of Uniform series from the beginning and I was delighted to get a look into some of the other couples' lives after their HEA. I also enjoyed how both characters developed throughout the book and eventually learned to compromise, becoming a team and learning that the road to love was not a straight road. There are bumps and turns waiting to be surpassed.

The level of angst was so good, and it showed that it IS difficult to compromise at times in a relationship. But you just have to make it want to work in order to stay together. I like how Mark from Squared Away answered when asked if there was anything that would be considered a deal breaker and he said: "No. We love each other. We'd talk it out. Work it out. Find a solution..." With all Bacon was going through, I think he needed that moment. He and Spencer were a good fit for each other and in the end, love does conquer all. And a decent shower, wine and bed...you have to read the book to get the reference, hahaaha.

A good read and I defintely will be recommending this and will do a re-read in the not so distant future.

Tight Quarters is the story between a Navy SEAL sharpshooter, and an award winning journalist who form a bond while working together. Spencer is lucky enough to get embedded with a SEAL team to help write his upcoming book. However, when he's paired with Bacon, he finds himself becoming attracted to the young SEAL. Pretty soon these two are not only fighting off enemies, but fighting off their growing feelings for each other as well.

I have really enjoyed the few books I've read from this series. I was really interested to see how a romance would work out between a journalist and a SEAL since the previous book I'd read were between two military members. However, this story didn't really work for me. I never really felt a connection with the characters. It didn't help that a lot of scenes would jump forward a lot. So we'd get a paragraph of story line, and then jump forward to a later time and date. I would have liked if the story flowed more smoothly then just getting choppy sections of their story pieced together. It almost felt like I was reading a cliffnotes version of their romance.

Even though I wasn't able to fully immerse myself in the story or connect with the characters, I really liked that the author included some SEAL ops into the story. Those glimpses into Bacon's life really brought forward not only how mentally/physically demanding his job was, but it also validated what Spencer was working so hard towards. While the sweet moments of these two on a day-to-day basis is nice, I always love it when a story shows more of the behind-the-scenes of what the characters do for a living.

Even though Tight Quarters wasn't my favorite, I still look forward to the next book in the series. I've really enjoyed meeting these guys, and was really happy to see some older favorites make an appearance.

Take a pan-sexual SEAL and an Award-winning journalist (think Anderson Cooper, I did) mix them up on a mission that went totally fubar add in a dash of humor and a bit of angst and you have Tight Quarters. I’ve not read any of the others in this series and had no problems reading this. I assume the other books are about fellow SEALs. This is a seriously sweet and sexy m/m military romance. I really enjoyed it.

I’ve started keeping an eye out for new releases by Annabeth Albert because I have yet to be disappointed by one of her books. This one was another winner for me.

I wasn’t sure I was going to like it at the beginning. Something about the set up of the two main characters initially put me off a bit. There’s Spencer, a well-known journalist and author who is going to be embedded in a Navy special ops mission, and Bacon, a committed Navy Seal who resents being Spencer’s babysitter. In their first interactions, neither of them really appealed to me, and I wasn’t sure I wanted to keep reading.

But I did, and the more I read, the more I got drawn into their romance. After that initial mission is over, when they let down their guard with each other, I started to appreciate their strengths and vulnerabilities and how they interacted with each other. The sex scenes were hot, but more importantly, their emotional reactions struck a chord with me. Their doubts and hesitations felt real. I also really appreciated that their relationship drama was driven by their careers rather than by miscommunication or some other manufactured drama.

If you’re a fan of the author, you should definitely read this book. I’d also recommend it for anyone who enjoys realistic military romances.

A copy of this book was provided through NetGalley for review; all opinions expressed are my own.

I’m gonna be short...
A strong story, very well developed characters and journey. A lot of feelings all over the floor.
I felt their strong attraction, longing and connection and when it all went down the hurt was ugly.
Another great story in this series.

I’m late to Annabeth Albert’s “Out of Uniform” series but boy am I in for a treat, there are five books prior to this one! I confess to not having read everything, but those I read are awesome. “Tight Quarters” joined that list with flying color. We’re not only talking about men in uniform here; there’s a silver fox journalist claiming the spot in the story, too. What a stroke of luck, eh!

I liked Bacon from what I glimpsed on previous installment. He’s laid-back and a loyal friend; which made what he faced on the early pages of the book sucks. He got his reward in backhanded manner though, when he was assigned as liaison to Spencer Bryant, the journalist who embedded in their team to follow SEAL on a mission.

Among the things I praised about the story was how dedicated and professional both characters were without being too overbearingly rigid about it. Both were conscious of what at line while drawn to one another, but finding way to (try to) make it work without jeopardizing the value they hold dear. “Tight Quarters” also touched on important issue, such as veterans’ welfare, what matters in one’s life - their success and legacy as a person.

The concern between Bacon and Spencer were beyond sexual (worry not, in this department they meshed perfectly fine in whatever surface or position either men find themselves in, sizzlingly so!) but beyond that. It might sound a tad instant, the quick rapport and attachment between them. The pacing and dual POVs Ms. Albert weaved throughout the story made it plausible though. It flew from scene to scene through some of the worse time to touching ones, gathering moments.

I expected the pivotal bit where Bacon and Spencer reached an impasse; it’s like a ticking bomb waiting to explode. I was equally gutted and pissed off that they didn’t try HARDER to find way to compromise. But I so loved how everything resolved in the end; the AHA moment, the way one took the necessary step to make amends without diminishing his own worth, how the love interest made sure every t crossed and i's dotted before taking him back to avoid further heartache. It was all very mature and realistic, I could just bear hug Bacon and Spencer!! (as if I need excuse for it).

Without a doubt “Tight Quarters” is another great title to add to Annabeth Albert’s backlist. It covered quite a motley casts, some I didn’t really care to know if not for their pertinent roles (as eye opener, nudging either MC into action, among others) and a pair of charming men as leading roles. Can’t wait for another installment in this series!

Tight Quarters is the 6th book in the Out of Uniform series. Each book in the series stand alone so it's not necessary to read the previous books to enjoy this one. This is a very well done M/M romance and I loved Bacon and Spencer together. When Bacon is first tasked with babysitting the reporter that is being embedded in the SEAL teams he's not very happy. One look at Spencer Bryant and Bacon knows he's in all kinds of trouble if he doesn't get his raging libido under control. After spending some time with Spencer, Bacon knows it's too late. He's a goner.

Great read that everyone who enjoys M/M romances will enjoy. I recommend it.

Often when I'm reading a romance with a significant amount of angst, I find that the drama is lessened because there's a fairly obvious way for the couple to compromise and find their way through whatever is keeping them apart. The main dilemma for Bacon and Spencer was more anguishing because I really couldn't see where the compromise was going to be for Spencer and Bacon. That kept me on the edge of my seat right up to the end.

I also absolutely loved the idea behind Bacon reclaiming his name through Spencer's eyes. The writing was so well done as the third person reference changed to fit whether "self" Bacon was experiencing at the time. Names and identity are important to me so that really stuck out.

Great read and another awesome story in what has become one of my absolute favorite series.

I love this series, but this one didn't feel as memorable as the others. I just didn't feel the same connection between Bacon and Bryant as I did with the other books. Not bad, just not my favorite.

Really enjoyed this story by Annabeth Albert, the first of her "Out of Uniform" series that I have read.

An interesting storyline, well written characters and an enjoyable writing style made this an easy book to read. I'm looking forward to reading other books in this series.
