Angela Marsons has delivered another outstanding book. An original story line with twists and turns. Surprises that you didn't even seem coming. Edge-of-your-seat, heart-pumping ending. This was an easy to read, fast-paced page turner.

Definitely recommend this book.

The mark of a great book is that you keep thinking about it for days after. That's exactly what happened with me and Dying Truth. I loved every word and the ending broke my heart but also left me excited for what's next to come for Kim Stone.

I'm a HUGE fan of Angela Marsons and have read all of her books to date and this is another 5* read! This time Kim Stone is called to a prestigious private school where a student has committed suicide by jumping off the roof ...or has she? Kim Stone soon discovers this is no suicide and very soon after when another child takes their life it becomes clear there is something very sinister afoot!!

Thank you very much to NetGalley, Bookouture and Angela Marsons for the ARC of Dying Truth my review is honest and unbiased!

I've loved the Kim Stone Thriller series so far and Dying Truth did not disappoint. Although I didn't find it as punchy as the other books in the series, it was still a brilliant read. I'm not going to lie, the ending made me cry like a baby.

Woah!!! I adore the DI Kim Stone books, I’ve read and loved each of them and eagerly wait for a new one to be released.

The fact that this is book eight of the Kim Stone series and is not only going strong but getting better and better is impressive and shows that this series is something special. It is hard for an author to keep a character going for so long and keep the readers engaged and wanting more. Angela Marsons has sold millions of books and if you read one or two of them then you will see why.

Anyway, back to Dying Truth. Once again Kim’s instincts are correct, something is going on at a very exclusive boarding school where a student supposedly jumped to her death. Kim and her team of reliable detectives who all play an important part in working together to solve the crimes.

Fans of the series will be excited to hear that Dr Alex Thorne makes a guest appearance in Dying Truth, this is the third book in the series that she has appeared in and once again she makes a big impression.

The one thing that I will remember Dying Truth for is the completely unexpected curve ball thrown at the reader, something that you will not see coming and something that will shock you. I will say no more but I think that there may need to be some support groups set up for readers to help them cope with this book.

It is a fabulous book and I have so much respect for Angela Marsons. She’s one hell of a writer and this really is an amazing series. If you haven’t read any of the Kim Stone books before then you really really should, but do start at the beginning with Silent Scream, although I’m sure that you could read Dying Truth as a standalone you really would be missing out if you don’t start at the beginning. And if you have read the previous seven then bump Dying Truth to the top of your reading pile and enjoy!

Thank you to Bookouture for my copy of Dying Truth by Angela Marsons. I was under no obligation to review the book and all thoughts are my own.

Not my favourite of the series. I found it hard to sympathize with any of the spoiled elite who walk the halls of prestigious private schools like Heathcrest Academy. It also struck me as implausible that secret societies within these hallowed halls would be allowed to repeatedly mete out this level of violent hazing.

The series might star Kim Stone as top cop and she shows remarkable insight when she is forced to do performance reviews on her team but the real star of Dying Truth is Kevin Dawson. He is the detective who works out the possible motives behind events at the school and his humanity shines through when Dawson connects with a student enduring the same bullying he faced in his youth.

This is a twisted and complex story and I fully admit I was shocked by events in the final scenes. Kudos to Marsons for pushing the envelope and proving she is at the top of her game in the crime thriller genre.

ARC received with thanks from Bookouture via NetGalley for review.

Dying Truth is a real return to form for Angela Marsons. I felt her last two DI Stone books had become a little stale and formulaic. I was pleasantly surprised that Dying Truth was unputdownable! A young student is savagely beaten to death in an exclusive boarding school. Suspects are not forthcoming and the police seemingly unwelcome. Subsequent murders up the ante and DI Stone is pushed to her absolute limit to find the killers. Great stuff!

Another 5 star masterpiece from Angel Marsons. Book 8 of the series and it just keeps getting better and better. Again the writing is flawless and Dying Truth tackles the subjects of bullying and self harming. Loved how the whole team were more involved in this book. What an ending!!! Im counting down the days until book 9 is released. If i could give this book more than 5 stars i would.

As usual with an Angela Marsons book, I sit with my hands poised on my keyboard wondering how the hell I'm going to process my reading experience into words. Dying Truth is another exceptional book in the Kim Stone series. I'd say it's one of the best but they're all such amazing reads it's hard to pick a favourite. All I can say is that Kim Stone fans will be put through the whole gamut of emotions while reading this book! If you've not yet read the Kim Stone series then start from book one and prepare to be thrilled.
I immediately loved the school setting and the story gripped me instantly with Kim Stone doing what she does best - putting her heart and soul into her latest case. The drama hits you in the face from the offset with pupil Sadie Winter jumping off the roof of Heathcrest high school, taking her secrets with her. When the school is hit with tragedy a second time, Kim's team are determined to get to the bottom of things. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll hold your breath as you read. Harrowing, emotional and packing a punch, Dying Truth has everything you want in a crime thriller and more.

DYING TRUTH (D.I. Kim Stone, #8) by Angela Marsons is a tour de force!
With every book in the Kim Stone series, I have come to love all of the characters more. I have been intrigued and tricked by the mystery/crime plotlines. In book #8, Ms. Marsons covers the short time period of six days which left me with a severe book hangover and the knowledge that I will remember this Kim Stone book far into the future.
Heathcrest is a prestigious private school for children of the elite in British society. Perfect appearance is everything, but a crime from the past has come back to haunt the children of today. D.I. Kim Stone takes a call of a potential jumper. When she arrives on the scene, the broken body of Sadie Winter is on the ground, but Kim cannot justify what she sees with the testimony of witnesses. Soon after, another child is dead and Kim and her team know they must hurry to find who in Heathcrest is killing the children.
Ms. Marsons covers many emotional hot topic issues in this book. Heathcrest displays the divide between private education for the rich and public education. Scholarship students are accepted, but always know they are different. Peer pressure, bullying and the expectations of parents are laid bare in a forthright manner. The pros and cons of secret societies that last for a lifetime plays a major role in a murder from the past tied to the murders in the present. The topic of “if a child can kill” is also covered candidly.
Beside the riveting and emotional intertwined plots from past and present in this book, I always read this series to catch up on some of my favorite characters. Kim and her team not only have to solve this case, but Kim also has to turn in her personnel evaluations. Kim, Bryant, Kevin and Stacey are each very different and yet when put together make the perfect unit. After eight books, I have watched each character grow and become more vivid, but there is a gut-wrenching shake up at the end of this book. Was it needed? That is for each reader to decide, but in my opinion it was entirely believable when you consider that character’s growth and personality.
I am looking forward to the next book in this series. While I may never get over some of the emotional wreckage from this one, I want more!
Thanks very much to Bookouture and Net Galley for allowing me to read this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

A really good read. Kim Stone is a really good character and this time she is trying to solve murders at a school. This is a complicated plot that kept me guessing right up to the end. This is a series that I would definitely recommend.

I absolutely love the Kim Stone series and I was excited to go on another adventure with her.

Getting to the bottom of why there are suddenly a rash of suicides at an upper crust school is going to take all of Kim's skills to figure out. There are a lot of twists and turns in this book, and Kim needs to rely on her team with all their different areas of expertise, to help her a great deal. I found the world of boarding school very interesting, since I have never been in that situation myself. I also have no idea of initiations or secret clubs etc, so this was also fascinating to me.

I give this book a solid 4.5 stars.

DYING TRUTH is the eighth book in the D. I. Kim Stone series by Angela Marsons. And I didn’t miss reading one of her books in the series. This book is outstanding and probably the best book she has written yet! I devoured it! I don’t know how she continues to produce such high-quality writing.

“The past never stays in the past.”

When teenager Sadie Winter jumps from the roof of her school, her death is ruled as suicide. Sadie was a troubled girl who had been forced to see a school counsellor, and talk about her “problems”, because her parents thought this would remedy the problem. Her sister Saffie was the favorite and could do no wrong. Sadie had begged her parents to remove her from the private school, Heathcrest and allow her to go to a school closer to home, but they refused her request. This place was stuffy and all she ever wanted was to make friends with “normal people”. But this would never happen…

Then the broken body of a young boy is discovered at the same school and it’s clear to Detective Kim Stone that these deaths are not accidents after all.

Kim and her team begin to investigate and discovers a dark web of secrets. one of the teachers would prove invaluable and hold the key to the truth. Just as she is about to break her silence, she is found dead.

Kim must now consider…could a fellow student be responsible for the murders? Investigating the psychology of children that kill brings the detective into contact with her former adversary, Dr Alex Thorne – the sociopath who has made it her life’s work to destroy Kim.

Time is running out to catch the killer, and Kim must find the link between the recent murders and an initiation prank that happened at the school years earlier.

This novel touches on a wide range of themes from secret societies, cover-ups, jealousy, rage, bullying, pregnancy and obesity. The characters in the book are unforgettable…Kim and her partner, Bryant as well as Stacey and Kev. The dynamics of the interaction of the characters is heart feeling. I won’t forget any of them.

I highly recommend this whole series, and all I can say is “Angie keep on writing! We are waiting for book #9!”

Many thanks to Bookouture via Net Galley for my copy.
