I loved this book. As an Outreach Pastor, this book held so much truth that I am immediately implementing it into the rotation of books for my team. This resource would lend itself well to anyone in leadership in the church.

Ever wondered how today's leadership models fit into your Christian life or business? Boyd takes aim at qualities and characteristics to see how Jesus himself would think as your boss. How would his attitudes influence his decisions? How would his actions serve in leadership?

I liked the Points to Ponder, the Takeaways, and the chapter summaries. You'll get wise counsel on what it looks like to follow Jesus closely and have his life transform your inner life and interactions with others. There are some practical applications, but since every business, church, or organization is specific in its needs, this is more of an alignment for general, good practice.

Recommended. This is one to tuck into my bookshelf and consider more than once.

The premise of the book sounded interested but very little of the book seemed to actually back this up. It was a lot of “as a dad of daughters i took control of their husbands relationship with them” and “my sales job”. I found it hard to connect with and hard to connect it with Jesus.

A fantastic book about how to best use your skills and gifts, this is one you will go back to for a refresh again and again!

Gosh, this was what I needed. Great thoughts on leading, Jesus, and how to use your skills and gifts. Using your talents for the good of others is a great way to share God’s love and this book helps you figure out ways to do that.

This would be a useful companion book for A-level students looking at Jesus as a source of authority within Christianity. It's language is clear and easy to follow and, as a result, something my students would be able to engage with. What's brilliant about it, is the fact that there are quotes, used in context and explained well. This is something that examination text books can lack.

There's none whose life has been documented, or talked about over centuries as much as Jesus and in this book, the author highlights a few traits that we ought to and could live by. They range from Humility, Love, Accountability, Relationships, Teachability, Discipline, Gratitude, Generosity, Forgiveness, Encouragement, and finally to Faithfulness.
Eleven traits, simple right?
However, these are not so easy to emulate or live by given life's challenges and what I loved most about this book were the takeaways at the end of every chapter, simple reminders that you could practice daily.
Thank you NetGalley for the eARC and the author, Boyd Bailey, for writing with such ease that made this book a companion.

Learning to Lead Like Jesus

"If I try to do everything for everyone, I risk not doing anything well for anyone." This is one of my favorite quotable moments from this new book. Boyd Bailey does a great job in keeping the list of characters traits that we can model after Jesus to a manageable 11 - though it would be nearly impossible to manage them all.

Those traits are ideals set before us as Christans to live a life of impact - they are Humility, Love, Accountability, Relationships, Teachability, Discipline, Gratitude, Generosity, Forgiveness, Encouragement, and Faithfulness.

What is great is that for people like me, Bailey includes throughout each chapter (each focused on one trait alone) key take-aways and points to ponder. Additionally he summarizes each chapter.

For those who have been raised in the Christian faith there may not be any epiphanies or grand revelations but there are many good reminders of how we are to live our life and ultimately lead the lives around us as each of us has a platform of influence.

Until you can read the book, a good challenge to leave with those reading this review comes from the chapter on generosity:

"Since God has been so generous to you, how can you now be generous to others? Perhaps you can give grace instead of judment, forgiveness instead of resentment, transparency instead of deception, and freedom instead of control. Do you have family or friends that desparately need you to listen, offer advice, and provide financial assistance? Pray for God's provision for people you know, and then be available as an answer to your own prayers."
