This is the first time I read anything from this author. Or truthfully even heard of this author but after the description I wanted to read it and did. It was a cute, quick read.

Kate started off good then turned into mega bitch, which felt out of no where and then morphed into a just a bitch. Her turn around was a bit strange, but I guess it was done so we were okay with Grayson's exploration of himself without us feeling bad for Kate. Felix was the neighbour whom made one honest mistake which turned into a battle of the neighbours.

And with Grayson being sad he ends up on Felix's doorstep and then the battle changes from hate to love.

Kind of sweet but a bit forgettable.

Once again I was too quick with requesting a book I had no idea what it was about and based my decision on the cover and title. I really need to stop doing this because if I had known it was going to be a novella I would have never clicked the request button. This has nothing to do with the author nor the story. I personally don't like novella's most of the time. If I am investing my time (that I usually have very little of) into a book I want it to be a fleshed out story and I find it very seldom novella's are that.
It happens to be this book was one of those novella's that fell to meet my expectations. I didn't feel the connection between the characters. There was too much unsaid and some things like Felix not being actually gay until he's told he's a attracted to Grayson by someone else confused me a bit because I had thought he was the majority of the story. The characters weren't fully developed and I didn't feel like I got to connect with them because of this.

Happy reading dolls! xx

Synopsis: Grayson is dating his best friend, Kate, whom he has known since childhood. He enjoys his feud with his neighbour, Felix, and is just content with the way things are. Then Kate breaks up with him, and Grayson's world is turned upside down.
Felix is a vegan, and has yelling matches through the wall with his neighbour. When that doesn't happen one day, Felix checks on him and finds him really ill. He takes care of him, and a detant, then friendship, is born from that.

What I liked: Felix and Grayson were interesting characters, both before they actually met face to face, and afterward. Grayson, even though he didn't have a lot of ambition, was caring and interested in the world around him. Felix tried to live his best life, and even though he didn't really like Grayson to start with, didn't take it out on him when he was down. I also liked that Kate didn't turn out to be a harpy, and that she still genuinely cared about Grayson.

What I didn't like: the ending felt a little abrupt. With all the build up of their antagonism, and then the build in friendship, it kind of felt as though they got shafted with a rushed ending. The ending also kind of felt like a sop to everyone, without having to actually make choices.

Overall impression: I really enjoyed the interactions between Felix and Grayson. This was told in alternating POV, from Felix, Grayson, and Kate. Light and fluffy, and really sweet.

I found the title and cover of this book to be enchanting and the blurb was enticing. I couldn’t wait to read it. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the rest of the book. The author made a good start- she created characters that I wanted to get to know better. But she didn’t let me get to know them, and the story line is vague. Readers should know that this isn’t a traditional happy ever after love story. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC. This is my honest review.

I really wasn't sure what to expect with this little novella. It was a fun and quick read. Witty and sweet. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it and when it was over i wished it was longer. Great little story with a lot of feeling.

I was so thoroughly confused by this novella.

Not that Grayson and Felix seemed to get off on antagonizing one another. That part was very believable and fairly enjoyable, but the snark and banter weren't all that dazzling, when compared to books like Lili Morton's "Deal Maker".

No, my confusion is from the fact that neither of the MC's really ever seemed to have that dreamy longing for the other that's typical of such Gay For You stories. Their verbal jabs never really came across as loosely-veiled flirting, which I found disappointing. This is M/M, after all.

I made it through nearly 70% of the story thinking that Felix was gay. Straight-up gay. Do not pass go, do not collect $200, go suck a dick, G-A-Y.

Then Felix, for some strange reason, ended up drinking alone in a bar and those events tilted my well-established world view of what I thought I knew was going on.

I'm never really a fan of someone, especially the MC that I *thought* was gay, having to be told by Random Stanger X that they're smitten with someone. Clueless wasn't a good look that late into the story.

However, I did enjoy how neither MC completely flipped out (for very long) after "it" finally happened, but was totally shocked that "it" might have been totally new to both MC's. Or maybe I just read it wrong. Dunno.

But I did not enjoy that whatever "it" was, it all happened off-page and we're never even told what "it" entailed, aside from nudity being the end result when the sun came up.

I also wasn't a fan of the time skips forward. I *need* to see relationships develop and grow, not jump to the "loving couple" stage with no details or growing pains regarding how they got to that point.

And for the love of God, why end the story with Felix musing over having his ex-GIRLFRIEND be in the relationship with himself and Felix???

So yes, color me confused on that little, last minute addition to the story.

I did enjoy the story on a purely superficial level, but I suspect that I would've enjoyed this more as a full-length novel, with more of what I mentioned fully fleshed out on-page.

I'd have to rate this story at around 3.25 stars.

PS - Moonshine sundaes sound utterly disgusting.
