This was a bit of a contradictive read for me.

Enjoyable elements are present; the mystery elements, the minor characters and our male MC, but overall I was missing something as well, in the big scheme of things; The plot-development wasn't as good as I was hoping it'd be for example. And that definitely influenced my rating of the book. I also didn't really care for our female MC. Just couldn't fully connect with her, which I was bummed out about.

Overall, a fast paced read, that has some good mystery elements and a well developed romance, which I'd definitely recommend if the synopsis lures you in. My feelings towards the female MC for example are personal, so any other reader might feel different towards her. So definitely give this book and author a chance if you feel like this is a story you'd enjoy!

This book just failed to hit the mark with me. The premise is a good one, and it is told with style. Yet, a fantastic story is ruined by a hasty and irrational ending. The story felt rushed at important moments in the story while other scenes were too long.

I didn’t like this book nearly as much as I thought I would. It was not one that I will read again but I will try other books by this author. I will give say that it was interesting in places but kind of like a roller coaster ride in the Hadlee love story. I think she was a bit to here and there. Like she could not make up her mind.

Thank you NetGalley for this copy.

did like the story. I just didn’t really care for Hadlee. She had a lot of walls and every time you think she might be soften, something just sets her off. Whiplash central. The supporting characters helped the story but it was hard to really enjoy it because of Hadlee.

Harper's story is a testament to the strength of the human spirit. And the power that love has to heal even the deepest wounds.

Wow! This story left me confused even after I finished the book. The plot was not well-defined. I thought this book was going to be a sweet romance between Hadlee and Kaisen. Instead it turned into a mystery story.

The writing is great but I felt like the characters were not three dimensional. Hadlee was so wishy washy about her feelings regarding Kaisen while he was quickly falling in love with her. The story felt rushed at important moments in the story while other scenes were too long

I really wanted to like this book but I felt so disconnected from the characters and could not get a handle on the direction the story was taking.

I received an ARC of this book for my honest review.
