If you are looking for  a fantasy book to read I would recommend for you to check this out. A fantasy book packed with romance, magic and political intrigue.

This was an interesting read I have to admit. The problem was that, it only got good more than half way into the book.  The first part dragged on and on which was tiring to get through. I also did not like the main characters. They irritated me for most of the book, which explains why I didn't give this a higher rating. Connection with characters is very important to me. Nevertheless the ending was pretty good.

The Goddess's Choice is a kind of love-hate book. Overall I really liked the story about how the simple farm boy Robrek meets Milady Samantha by chance, without realizing she is the princess. The total evolving of both characters: Robrek growing from believing he is some kind of demon into the powerful amihealer he really is and Samantha, who is realizing her fathers reign will end soon and she will have to take over the crown.

The hate-part is that Jamie Marchant takes her time to describe all the events that lead up to the character building. Some days I just needed to read another book in between, because the snail pace was driving me nuts.

But I kept coming back, because I really wanted to know about Robrek's mysterious horses (Brazen and Fancy Man) and whether he and Samantha would meet again or not. And of course I was hoping that duke Argblutal would get powerful enough to force Samantha's father, the King, from his throne. So, in all, a wonderful story, if you are patient enough to get through the slow parts. But the reward is there. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

I liked this book a lot. It's a fun read and has a good vibe over it. The pacing is good and I I am super glad I have read it. It probably isn't something you haven't read before but it's super good!

Enjoyed the fantasy world, characters and plot of "The Goddess's Choice" by Jamie Marchant. The main characters and their interactions kept my interest. Looking forward to reading the second in this series "The Kronicles of Korthlundia".

I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The Goddess Choice is an epic and entertaining fantasy novel with likeable main characters and a very compelling world-build: I especially liked the concept of auras. Rodrek was my favorite and I enjoyed the scenes with him the most. The book had some slow parts, that dragged a bit - but overall I really liked it.
